Lovell walked through the camp; he could see that many faces seemed familiar but did not recognize him as he walked past. Lovell made his way to Grailla's tent; he could see she was rummaging through her things. Lovell touched her shoulder, Grailla let out a scream.
Lovell laughed at her. "It's only me, Grailla."
Grailla wanted to cry as she punches him in the arm, Lovell could only laugh at her. "Look, Lovell. that was not funny!"
Lovell calmed himself as he smiled at her. "Sorry, but I didn't do it on purpose." She huffed at him as she continued to search, Lovell knelt down. "need any help searching—"
Grailla pulled out the letter Lovell left with her. "You want to read it, right?" Lovell smiled at her as he took it from her. He leaned in, kissing her on the forehead; she blushed as she pulled away. "W-what was that for?"
Lovell leaned back, "As a thank you for keeping it safe."
Grailla stared at him as Lovell opened the letter. She leaned over his shoulder to see what it said.
/Dear Lovell, /
/I know you might not know who I am, but I am your mother Princess Ulva Wildwind, of the beastman Kingdom of Inroar. By the time you have this letter, I will have been long going from this world, but I have sent you with my handmaid Marie kaya to take you far away from the Faremin Kingdom. Your father was unable to stop your grandfather and was cursed with darkness fever. That day the world rippled as the curse affects everyone, but for some reason, not you, I believe within your little heart, you have the power to stop the curse and lift it from your father. I wish I could have held you longer and raised you with your brothers beside you, Fang and Kratos, your older half-brothers. But I know that the day you read this you will have grown up and possibly met them both and met your father as well. /
Lovell began to read the letter, as he well up, Grailla could only comfort him as he wiped his tears away. Lovell smiled as he held the letter, "I met them, mum." He whispered as he continued to read.
/Though if anything happens to Marie, seek out your fathers' best friends, who are also your godparents, Morris Featherwing and Ark Kindler. They are a part of the Goanna Mercenaries that your father started long after Fang went his own way. Lovell, I know this might be hard for you to process, but you're not just the prince of Inroar but also the prince of the Faremin as well, being that your father was Terrance Wild's son, or more notably now and once more Lord Demora. By this point, you might be wondering why your last name is not Wild, like your grandfathers. Well, your grandmother, Kora, is the last Krisnik left of that bloodline, an ancient bloodline that has many secrets in this world. Lovell never gives up and does what is right for not just you but others around you and do what you can to save this world. /
/Love your doting mother, Ulva. /
Lovell held the letter close to his heart as he couldn't keep himself together anymore, Grailla hugged him as he bellowed out in pain from within. Luna was walking over as she saw him. Gale walked up and placed his hand on her shoulder. Luna looked at him to see he was shaking his head, her gaze returning to Lovell. She felt useless as he wallows by Graille's side.
Lovell finally calmed as Grailla helped him up, Lovell looked at her. His eyes red and sore as his face shallowed in sadness. "Thanks, Grailla, for being here."
Grailla hiked him up, "You more of a handful than you should be, you know?"
Lovell could barely hold himself up. "I am just glad you were here and none of the others." Grailla looked at him as he passed out before her.
She sighed as Grailla took him to the tent he and his friends were staying in. AS she entered, Lance rushed over, asking what happened as the letter slipped from Lovell's grasp. Lance picked it up and saw that he was crying. Without a word, Lance grabbed the other side and helped him to bed. As they finished, Fang and the twins entered reading for bed themselves as they all hunkered down for the night.
The next morning Lovell could not think of anything as he pulled out the photo within the letter's envelope. He saw his father with his mother, Ulva. Lovell smiled as he figured out that the Ulva that saved him was his own mother, remembering what she tried to say that day before he left the spirit realm.
Scarlet woke up to see Lovell staring at something; she had got up to see what he had as he put it away. "Lovell, you alright?" Lovell jumped as he turned to her placing his hand in his chest. "You seem out of it compared to yesterday?"
Lovell smiled softly, "It's just that I found out the spirit Ulva is my mother, and it's hard to explain," He gripped his heart. "But knowing this hurts and yet I feel almost at ease knowing that as well."
Scarlet sat beside him. "You're lucky to have had her protect you from the beyond. Not many have that privilege."
Lovell felt re-ensued by Scarlet's words before he could thank her, a man walked into the entrance of the tent. "You awake there, Lovell?" Lovell looked at the man. "Good, Ark wishes to speak with you."
Lovell got up as he followed the man out to Ark, he was tapping his finger as he waited. Lovell walked up to him. "You wanted to see me, Ark?"
Ark looked up at Lovell. "Yes, I was wounding if you knew anything about the movements of the Faremin when you were trying to help me?"
Lovell nodded at him, "Yes, they are after something by the interfering mountains? Not sure what it is, but a friend from the inside went to stop them or go get before them? One of the latter."
Ark grabbed his chin, "That's not good, but hopefully, your friend stops the Faremin in their quest."
Lovell smiled gingerly, "He will, anyway, why did Lua move the group here?"
Ark turned to Lovell. "An ask for help, was called by the elves and Kora suggested use. They haven't come out to greet us." Arks face stiffened as he stared at the ground. "And about three to four weeks ago, we were attacked by faremin soldiers that seemed off?"
Lovell stared at him as he shifted his weight. "What do you mean?"
Ark looked up at him. "Like they were rookies that were drugged with some weird, making them, five if not eight times stronger than normal humans should be?"
Lovell shuddered as he remembered the notes, he deciphered. "Think those noted human per se but clones made to look human, created by a man named Vann?" Ark raised his eyebrow at him, Lovell knew he wanted to know what he meant. "Before you ask, I helped decipher some notes by this Vann character, and well, they told of their plans and some of the notes told of experiments?" Lovell shudders as Ark became pale.
Fang walked over to find Lovell, as he approached, he could see something was unsettling to them. "I'm not going to ask but, Lua is looking for us, Lovell."
Lovell looked at Fang, "You mean—"
"Just you, me and the gang are wanted," Fang turned away, "You better hurry though the others are already waiting for you."
Lovell nodded at as he walked away, Lovell turned to Ark. "Well, I have to go then, we should catch up later. See you, Ark." Lovel bowed at him as Ark watched him walk away.
