Chapter 89 - What's now?

Brian ran past Greg and Frank at an inhuman speed, as they jumped aside and flew into the house. The raccoon followed on his heels, hissing, and barking also disappeared through the door from the veranda. All in silent daze looked at the empty doorway until a strange roar, and wild cries began to come from there, and it was almost impossible to determine who was making it, Brian or the beast.

After Risa reached the veranda first and also passed through the door, everyone began to come to their senses and followed into the house.

The living room looked more like a war zone. Even the sofa was turned upside down, and the pillows were torn. From the side of the kitchen, Lana, Rosie, Nicky, and Tony came running, alarmed by the crashing sounds. But neither Brian, nor Risa, nor the raccoon was in the room.

"What was it?" - asked Rosie, looking around the mayhem.

But no one had time to tell her, because from the hall sounded a new rumble and squeal. Then a sharp grinding sound.

All the crowd ran to the sounds of the struggle. Through the hall and the broken door, the company ended up on the porch.

Risa was standing on the bottom step. The girl froze, holding her mouth and with panicking eyes watching the fight taking place below. Although it was more like a chase from children's cartoons.

Brian was galloping in the yard with wild cries, now and then finding random objects with which he tried to drive away an enraged beast. But nothing helped. Like a ninja, the raccoon recoiled from sticks, stones and even a shoe thrown at him, which Brian pulled off himself. The raccoon was stubbornly continuing his pursuit as if trying to wear off his prey.

Bri even tried to climb one of the four cars, in an attempt to escape from the animal. But the beast was terribly brisk and tenacious. Raccoon easily climbed the wheel and on the soot forcing a man to leave his refuge.

"Can we help in any way," - Frank asked with concern, turning to Greg.

" In the garage, I have a pair of rifles and a gun. But they are running so fast that you probably need a machine gun or a grenade to be sure." - Greg thoughtfully stretched out, appreciating the situation.

"Are you crazy?" - screamed Maddy in outrage. - "You can accidentally hurt this cute little animal, too!"

Everything stared silently at the girl.

"Are you seriously worried about this mad raccoon right now?" - Risa snapped.

"What can this cute guy do with your plastic Ken anyway? Pinch his ass?" - Maddy was indignant.

"By the way, this is a good question. Why doesn't Brian just kill him? He is definitely stronger." - Frank asked. Risa blushed a little and wanted to answer, but Lana responded instead.

"Bri ate a raccoon once. It was an accident! And the beast was probably the head of the family or something like that. So then, for another two years, those guys hunted him to get revenge. Well, or so it seemed to him. In fact, it could be our cousins, who always liked to play jokes at him. Since then he thinks he is cursed." - She said calmly enough, never taking her eyes off her brother, who was rushing about in the courtyard.

"Sorry, what did you just said?"- Maddy asked, blinking her eyes. - How can you accidentally eat a raccoon? This is not a fly."

Lana stammered, realizing her mistake too late. Fortunately, Greg came to help.

"Well, you know, sis, every man has the days like this ..." - he stretched vaguely.

"When he wants to devour a forest animal accidentally?" - Maddy interrupted him sarcastically.

Greg mentally began to pick up other excuses when everyone's attention turned to Risa.

"Oh! No no no!" - she squealed in a panic, bouncing on the bottom step and not knowing what to do.

It seems the chase stopped and now Brian has finally taken the attacking position. He was five steps away from Tony's car and was spinning a large enough object around him. He did it so quickly that no one could see what it was.

"Well, you fluffy asshole! Now, do I still look funny to you?" - He shouted to the raccoon, which at that moment grinned at him from under the soot of the nearest car.

"Brian! Don't do this ..." - Risa screamed, but it was too late. The man swung and threw the object in his hands toward the car with all the dope. As if in slow motion, everything was observed as a mysterious object, which, upon closer inspection, turned out to be a propane gas tank, rotates into the air, flying directly to the hood of the car.

Greg and Frank, realizing a second before the collision, what was about to happen, suddenly turned and tried to capture everyone who the could reach, throwing themselves to the floor. In the same second, there was an explosion, gnash and sound of impact. A wave of heat flashed overhead.

Only after a couple of seconds, Greg finally decided to open his eyes, looking around. He managed to grab Lana, Rebecca, and Vicky. Nearby, through the smoke, was seen Frank's figure covering Maddy and Risa. A little further Tony lay next to Rosie, Marina, and Nicky. Apparently, the guys reacted simultaneously and sank women to the ground, protecting them from both sides. It seems no one was hurt.

Risa immediately wriggled out from under Greg's hand and ran in the direction where everyone had seen Brian for the last time. He was found in a couple of steps, laying like a starfish on the grass. His face was black with smoke, and his hair was scorched and sticking out in all directions.

"Bri! You damn fool!" - Risa screamed, falling on her knees near him. - "How much time should I tell you to think before you do something!"

In a fit of feelings, she slapped her boyfriend in the chest, he gave a miserable whine in response. The girl immediately rushed to check it for any damage

"Does it hurt here?" - She asked, anxious. Brian opened one eye cautiously.

"Yes ..." - he whispered, making the suffering face.

"Stop playing the fool!" - immediately seeing through his game, snarled Rice and slapped him on the shoulder. - "Stop lying! Get your brainless ass up this instant! Just look what you've done!"

And there really was something to look at. That car, in which Brian got a gas tank, was thrown in the air by explosions and now it was lying across the other three, standing nearby. All the cars were broken in debris.

Brian raised himself on his elbows, looking at it in shame. Meanwhile, the people on the porch began to rise, too. Greg carefully examined everyone for injuries or wounds. Everything seemed to be in order, but he had a feeling he missed someone ...

"I told you that such monsters with a plastic brain bringing only troubles!" - Maddy's voice came from somewhere behind. Greg immediately turned and ran to the sound. He was followed by all the rest.

The girl was somehow thrown from the porch by the explosion, and now she was lying upside down, entangled in some kind of bushes. And everything seemed to be fine, but as soon as Greg tried to pull her sister out of the branches, she curved herself and screamed wildly.

"Leg! My leg!"

Greg stopped right there. Frank and Tony have already come to help. All the others huddled on the porch, watching the action from above and giving a bunch of tips.

"Greg, what are you doing? It is necessary to throw this hand here and pull it!" - gave command Rosie from above.

"Frank, don't pull so hard, you meat-brain! It hurts her!" - worried about Becky.

"Yes, no! To the right and up! And to the left!" - interrupted her Marina, giving direction and irritating the hell out of the guys.

Maddy, meanwhile, was cursing worse than the sailors at the docks. Soon always thoughtful Nicky arrived with some tools which he managed to find in the garage and Brian, who was now terribly ashamed, but he could not just stay behind and do nothing.

Finally, by collective efforts, the infuriated girl was taken out of the bush and carefully laid on the grass. Overall, she did not suffer much damage, but her leg ... It was definitely broken and had already begun to swell.

" We must immediately take her to the hospital!" -Commanded Rosie. Everyone looked at each other, their stares met on the four smoking remains of cars.

" What now?" - Marina was the first to ask an obvious question. - "We can't leave Maddy like this. She certainly annoys me, but with a broken leg she will be even more irritating."

" Except for old buggy in the garage, we have nothing more of use. But there is no engine in it at all." - Greg admitted trying to think of something.

"Well, it is worthless to us without an engine! Or are you suggesting to plant Maddy there and push it downhill, hoping it rolls to the hospital itself?" - Marina snapped.

Suddenly, a spark of ideas lit up in Greg's eyes. His gaze focused on Brian and a wide smile appeared on his lips, making the guy a bit nervous.

"What?" - He asked hesitantly, glancing at Greg's strange behavior.

"Now you just can't say no!" - Greg pronounced, inspecting the man from head to toe.
