Chapter 106 - Revenge

Angela came out of a trendy cafe when it was already getting dark. The phone displayed a bunch of missed calls from dad. After the shame that she had to endure at a ball in the National Gallery, her father broke loose. If earlier he merely turned a blind eye to the small frauds of his daughter, and sometimes he suggested, as if by chance what was worth paying attention to. Now he took everything in his hands. As a real general, he went full force in to achieve the complete destruction of the corporation of the bastard, who dared publicly mock him.

Angela grimaced as she recalled that disgusting evening. How could it happen that an ordinary dishwasher would be the daughter of the owner of one of the largest financial corporations? She and her father threw all their strength and connections to find out at least something. But each time they reached a dead end. This Ruslana was like a ghost, suddenly appearing, and then dissolving in the air.

Red Porsche obediently beeps in response to pressing on the keychain button. Angela brought the car to the highway and pushed the gas pedal to the bottom. The mood was lousy. Today she specifically called her friends for coffee to assess how wide the rumors have spread.

But as soon as she saw their ugly faces, covered with a thick layer of cosmetics and eyes full of feigned pity, her fists clenched by themselves. For the first half of the hour, both girls diligently averted their eyes and chirped on abstract topics, but Angela with every skin cell felt the malice and arrogance that emanated from these two dogs.

"I heard the Charity Ball this year was a real sensation!" - Finally, one could not hold it in for much longer, squinting and checking the reaction of Angela.

" Exactly! Ange, you were there, right? Is it true that Brian Winterbourne himself danced the first dance with his sister? I heard it was a real show. And how such a perfect man can exist: talented, intelligent, beautiful, rich. I bet he is gay!" - The second chirped, staring at Angela with a testing gaze.

"Damn vipers!" - Ange thought to herself, clenching her fists and answering nothing. But the girls seem to like it.

"Although wait, they say then another girl joined the dance, she danced together with Winterbourne Jr., and Mr. Wels himself. They say he declared to all that the youngest daughter of Winterbourne was his bride! This is a sensation. I heard she is gorgeous and they are just such an amazing couple. All magazines literally exploded by this news. You have not been asked for an interview yet, Ange? You're his ex after all!" - With the poison in her voice finished the first girl and turned a mocking look at Angela. Ange gritted her teeth, but quickly pulled yourself together and painted a sweet smile on the face.

"Oh, sweeties, you actually believed that?! Everyone knows that this is just a business move. Our corporation has recently entered into a billion-dollar contract with Winter Corp., and a little hype will only benefit our new project. Of course, I cannot tell you everything, since it is top secret and apart from Greg and me, only a couple of the most important people know about it. But I can assure you that nothing has changed in the plans for the wedding. So do not forget to find a decent outfit by August. Since this event will shake the whole country." - She sang, not taking her eyes off her friends. They immediately looked perplexed and exchanged glances. Doubt was clearly visible on their faces. But Angela's voice was so confident, and the information itself seemed quite possible.

"God, Ange!" - exhaled the first one, grabbing her friend's hand. - "You scared us so much. Why didn't you say right away ?! We already thought of a way to get a revenge on this bastard for you! And it turns out this is just your business strategy."

"Revenge ?!" - Angela grinned to herself. - "Who are you kidding, you stupid goats? When I stumble, you will be the first to turn your back on me! "

Angela was well aware that these two were not friends at all in the lusciously romantic sense of the word. What nonsense ?! They are no longer five years old to believe in such rubbish. But they were useful in their own way. The first was a famous gossip girl in social circles. She could spread the rumor faster than any news reporter. And the second one, although it did not particularly stand out by its appearance, but was a famous actress with the image of a girl from a next door. Cutty pie that millions loved. Few of them, of course, suspected that, in fact, she did not even smell of simplicity and goodness. This snake could really put on a show!

After that, they spent another hour in the cafe, discussing new gossip and making plans for the wedding.

Ange squeezed the steering wheel, so hard that her knuckles turned white. It is a pity that Greg was an idiot and chose this crazy b*tch. How else to call the rich girl who is interested in washing dishes and picking in the garbage? Now there was only one option to righten it all out.

Angela has to destroy them all. Only the collapse of the entire corporation can somehow justify that there will be no wedding! Ideally, Greg's death would fit in perfectly with the big picture. Ange had just spotted a magnificent black dress and hat the other day. She will be the most charming widow of this year!

So imagining herself in different angles at the funeral, Ange managed to get home. It was already dark outside. She carefully looked around the area in front of the house. Recently, she was always haunted by a strange feeling that someone was watching her. Here and there strange silhouettes seemed to appear. And she could swear she saw burning eyes, somewhere in the distance, looking at her from the dark. Her psychiatrist insisted that it was only an exsastion caused by stress. But then one day she woke up in the middle of the night and saw the silhouette in the window with glowing eyes.

Angela flinched, only remembering this terrible night. Camera tracking and security did not find anything. Only after a double dose of sleeping pills and sedatives, which her psychiatrist prescribed for her, was it now possible to at least fall asleep somehow.

Searching in the glove compartment, she fished out a small revolver, which her father had presented to her on the sixteenth anniversary and again looked around the courtyard, with apprehension opened the door. Stress or not, the gun was a good way to solve many problems.

Only when one of the guards came out of the little adjoint building for a check, Angela finally decided to run a couple of meters to the front door, always looking around and holding a weapon at the ready under her jacket.

There was a light in the house, but it was empty. The maids most likely had already disappeared into their rooms, and the guards did not enter here. "Home is not a place for dogs!" - Her father always repeated. And Angela agreed entirely on this.

First of all, the girl headed upstairs. This nervousness was terribly annoying. It was necessary to take a new batch of medication urgently. Along the way, taking a bottle of wine from the bar, Angela climbed the stairs to the second floor and went through the spacious bedroom to the bathroom. In the cabinet behind the mirror was a whole assortment of different bottles of medicine. Angela chose two at once and sent pills in her mouth, chasing them with a decent portion of wine. Her head became slightly dizzy, and she clutched at the edge of the sink. When her mind cleared a little, she straightened and shut the cabinet door.

Angela did not even have time to realize the reason before her body was already frozen instinctively. Her eyes were stuck at the reflection in the mirror. The dark silhouette behind her moved forward, making the girl flinch.

"Hi, sweetheart! Long time no see!"
