"Hey Azula what do you think my harts gonna be, do you think I can mesmerize people with my singing voice, or maybe when I play an instrument I can send sound waves to directly attack my enemies. Wouldnt it be all cool if I just walk everywhere with a guitar and someone's all like 'Hey bro fight me' and I'm all like *briiiinnngg* and they just explode oh god im so exited." Azula could barely even register his words as he had rushed from the room so suddenly. His childish side started leaking once again as the prospect of awakening a hart had him over exited.
"Calm down, the most important part of this awakening isn't what kind of hart you get but how long you can withstand the release of impurities. No matter what kind of hart you have the longer you can hold on the stronger it will be. Imagine if one person had a hart that strengthens their whole body, and another just their arm who do you think would be stronger."
"Obviously the person who can stenghthen their entire body, no?"
"It may seem like it but the that's not always the case. Imagine if the person with the full body hart can only boost themselves by two, yet the person with one arm can boost their arm by onehundred."
"Ah, I get it so because of the fact that the arm hart is able to give more power it is stronger than the weak enhancement to the entire body, I get it but why are you bringing that up now?" He paused his step right in front of the destination door but the eagerness in his voice was unmistakable. Azula nervously looked at him before saying .
"Well you're not allowed to try to awaken now."
"..."
"..."
" Excuse me? You can't possibly have said what you just said moments before I tried to awaken."
"You were just so exited so I tried to explain clearly before you did anything stupid, I know you think you can take the pain but the ceremony isn't normally done until the age of fifteen years old, also you have no foundations in Art. It's not just a random awakenening we have to train your affinities for all musical prospects before find what you have a most prominent talent in, this helps strengthen your connection with that bloodline and increases the chance for a hart that you would like. Not only that but you are so scrawny and weak your body couldn't take the strain from losing the normal impurities, it's like trying to hold ambrosia in a plastic bottle you need to train first." The constant barrage of facts quickly and harshly destroyed his fantasies like a bucket of cold water. He didn't realize all of the complications or problems that could occur trying to awaken.
"So you're telling me that for the next five years I still can't have a hart?"
"That is correct, however there is something much much more exciting in store for you, and you do need the sacrificial knife to do so. The reason you haven't met any booksprits before me is because you couldn't see them, they are not really in this world as they are indeed spirits. I am unique because your father put the majority of his knowledge and will into me so I can serve as your guide, there are two more similar to me that haven't been introduced yet and they will be in charge of your physical & spiritual training as I am to help you with your hart."
He went inside and grabbed the knife properly under her guidance and then made his way back upstairs to the study once again. "Ok, what do I have to do?" He calmed down considerably and just thought to himself to follow her directions until he can do so himself.
"Well it's actually pretty simple but your dad put a key on everything important in the house which was for you to drop some blood on the object that was shed from that knife, you know to make sure it's you willingly doing so. The second most important thing in this house is this helmet right here. I need you to drop your blood on it and then put it on." After doing so the helmet lit up for a few moments before turning into different colors repeatedly. Dario felt something almost clinging to the back of his head and he reached out to the helmet as it flew right onto his hand.
"Oh my god that was so cool I feel like this helmet is almost apart of me. Can I put it on now I really just want to try this out." Practically wagging his tail he waited for the go ahead. Azula giggled dotingly and gave him the go ahead.
"But before you put it on you need to imagine it in a form best suited to you. As of right now you are linked with it but you are not yet merged. This is the legacy tool your father felt was most suitable for you and is the only one of its kind in this entire world. If you want to fully discover it's abilities you'll have to use it often but try not to rely on it ok." Almost directly afterwards they took on the form of smart glasses and found there way onto his face. With them on his vision not only enhanced automatically but he felt a cooling sensation rush though his head and clear his mind.
"Woah. I feel like I can just do anything."
"Well I'm glad you feel that way, because now it's time for you to start studying. As the heir to house Art you have to learn more about the history of the stairs and the world's connection to it. You also have to learn more about the families legacies to create a foundation for yourself." Right on que the myriad of book practically flew off the shelves and stacked filling the entire room. His jaw froze on the desk as he pitifully read the title of the book in front of him. 'Office secrets and where to find Them.' Cursing himself for his bad luck he opened it and saw golden words on every page. Amazed at his discovery he flipped back and forth through the previously blank book.
"Well you can't leave this room until you finish memorizing all of these books don't worry though not only with the glasses channel you energy so you won't starve but that energy will also strengthen your body and help build up your foundation, by the time you finish with this room your body will probably feel the same with or without the glasses on. Oh and before I forget this is your first trial, do try to finish in the next six months, oh I'm so exited!" Her gleeful voice followed her as she floated out of the room leaving him stranded. He looked around at the piles of books in agony before slowly opening the first one with a deep sigh.
