Jin Cong-min woke up somewhat stunned to be able to breathe again, for a few seconds the memories came back to his mind and he stirred wanting to scream at his father in anger with accusations of violence, but the one who stared at him was not a doctor or nurses and nor his father, but a tall man with skin as black as lead, round eyes with green irises like an animal, who knows a viper because of the look that seemed to carry indifference when facing him.
He tried to move, but handcuffs with chains were on his wrists and feet, they were heavy and were causing a slight allergy due to the hot weather, and plaques (something similar to lumps, but square and larger) were forming on the epidermis, which showed how delicate his skin was.
"What in the world is going on?" he muttered in surprise, if it weren't for that heavy gaze from the person in front of him, he would have screamed, but he only mumbled in surprise as he looked around.
He was in a carriage, the bumps should be enough to verify that he was in motion, it was very spacious and comfortable, looking very rich with details in gold and silver, with finely painted designs on the surface, which could denote the richness of the carriage owner.
Only it was a carriage, which already showed that he would not be in a familiar area, but in some unknown place.
The garment that the man before him was wearing was a white colored long sleeved cape with the collar part fastened tightly, the buttons were on the left side and the fasteners were made of silvery frills on the right side, the cape was long and reached to the knee, the long pants of linen and cotton of cream color, composed with a pair of boots of the same color of the pants with black laces.
The curly blond hair and short shaved type on the sides with three horizontal lines, with the short top in a square shape, very modern was the thought of Jin Cong-min, who was trying to place himself.
The man's thick lips were in an unsympathetic line, and his posture was very formal and straight, finally opened his mouth:
"Can you understand what I say?"
Jin Cong-min looked into the man's cold eyes and nodded slightly, the man's voice had a strong accent as if he was a foreigner from one of the African countries that had Portuguese as their mother tongue and spoke Korean well.
He knew this because he traveled to Cape Verde to oversee a project to set up another company for his family and he had a translator who could speak Korean with some fluency, but the Portuguese accent made the translator sound like he was singing a little while it spoke.
"That's good, I thought barbarians like you didn't know the cultured language, luckily, we'll be able to communicate well. You are thirsty?"
Jin Cong-min was first offended, then confused, then surprised by the man's question, finally, he began to feel very thirsty and hungry, in addition to nagging pain in his wrists and ankles.
"Yes, I'm hungry too" he spoke softly, his throat felt scratchy and a bit inflamed.
"Okay, take this bottle and eat this bread, we're already reaching the duchy," the man said, handing over a skin made of clear and soft material. Jin Cong-min hesitated a bit before taking that old "bottle" and opening it to drink, quenching his thirst and reducing the burning in his throat.
Handing the skin back to the black man, he took the brown paper wrapper, there was soft white bread, which was far better than he could have imagined for his prisoner situation.
He ate it in a few bites and finally felt better, he wasn't foolish enough to ask him to remove the handcuffs and chains, because the man had referred to him as a "barbarian", which could mean that he was a long way from your home or even the K country.
"Well, I better clarify a few things. When you reach the dukedom we will release you from your shackles and chains, but don't try to run away or rebel because the slave mark is still on you and I have the key... You know what that means, right?" the man spoke after seeing the slightly sleepy eyes of Jin Cong-min, who was sated, but with a tired body, almost falling asleep.
"Slave mark?"
"Your tribe did this to you to ensure you would obey our orders, giving us a key that can cause you great pain if you disobey. You've been sold for a hefty amount of monthly supplies from us, but you needn't look so horrified, we only want your services for a short while, then we'll release you and make a big payment."
The man spoke trying to calm Jin Cong-min who couldn't contain the horror expressed on his face, a person with a modern soul becoming a slave... Of course, there was obvious horror!
"What do you want from me?" Jin Cong-min asked, clenching his teeth, trying to contain the tremor and anger.
"May you be the bearer of the heir to the dukedom" the man spoke with some flourish, he himself didn't know how to tell another man that he would be a surrogate.
Jin Cong-min ended up fainting from the shock of the terrible news of being a surrogate, fortunately, or not, the memories of that body flooded through his mind.
So, a few hours after that brief conversation, they arrived at the Duchy of Ceylon.
