"Enzo. Enzo. Enzoooooo. Get up." Enzo looked around him to assess his situation. The last thing he remembered was chasing down pirates from the bay of Erimoore, his home city. "The pirates noticed us trailing them and launched an explosive barrel at us. It exploded 10 ft in front of you. I'm surprised you lived." The girl talking was his best friend since he was in the orphanage, Elza, since they were orphans they named themselves and did not have last names. She had red hair and night black eyes. Enzo got up and looked south of them the pirates had already circled around and were coming back to ram them. "It looks like they have 3 demons, 2 orcs and their leader is an angel. What should we do." Enzo's "crew" was only him and Elza nobody wanted to join them and hunt down pirates, they wanted to be pirates. "Okay load the left two cannons and pull the sail backwards after that run back to the cannons. I will go to the top deck and hit them with the swivel boomer." This gun was a custom invention from Enzo. It was a swivel cannon but the shots were cannonballs with gunpowder in them and a fuze was lit when it was shot. He climbed the rope up and took aim. After adjusting for lead he took his shot. "Direct hull shot on the left side of the ship." Elza provided Enzo with information. After saying this she turned the sails inside out. A gust of wind came from directly in front of them pushing them back and out of the way from the ship's figurehead (which was just a glorified spike). The cannonball blew up at this moment and half of the ships crew ran to the left side and hull of the ship to try and patch the hole. The only ones left on the deck were the captain and an orc. The ships driver moved the weak point of his ship to the side Enzo couldn't see. The orc went to load a cannon but was fired at by Elza, disabling the cannon. Enzos plan went accordingly. The left side of his ship had 3 cannons all of which were loaded and being manned by Elza. The opposing ships crew was not properly managed and a only had 2 working cannons on their right hand side and only 2 crew members on deck. Enzo at this point jumped off the starboard of his ship and behind the captain. He sliced the captains legs and back which cause him to fall then Enzo tied him up. The orc came running at Enzo but Elza shot him in the back of the head knocking him out. The guns at this point in time were only strong enough to break skin on humans much less pierce orcs. The crew in the hull ran back up to the deck at this point. They saw their captain and fellow mate tied up and surrendered. Enzo and Elza tied up the rest of the crew then took all of the loot they had and returned to their ship. Upon returning to the docks they were greeted by the docks handler, Garold. "Hey Garold, whats up?"
"DON'T talk to me like we're friends. i just saw you two raid them pirates. Now pay the fee or get your rust bucket out of my docks." The currency was simple on loreal. The whole planet had 4 forms bronze, copper, silver, and gold. Copper and bronze are the same thing and 10 of either equal 1 silver then 100 silver equal 1 gold. Mr.Garolds boat housing fee was 7 silver a month. Enzo and Elza had not paid for several months and although Garold seemed mean he was actually very nice towards them. Enzo handed over 14 silver to Garold.
"Now thats for this month and next, you see?" Enzo scrunched his face mocking Garolds.
"Alright now get out of here." Garold took the money and Enzo walked off towards the tavern.
Enzo walked up to the bar and there was a new girl working so he decided to play. He laid one gold piece on the counter. "One big cup of rum for me and chicken drum then whatever the girly wants." Enzo deepened his voice considerably and had a meaner face than usual. Elza stepped up and ordered herself a lamb leg and mashed potatoes. Then a woman walked out from the back of the store.
"Don't let him fool ya, he's only 17." The big girl said to the new girl behind the register.
"Hey granny i thought you might have died when i saw a new face at the register."
"Yeah and i knew who was ordering the booze when i heard a faked, no adaptation, man-child, voice." The old woman fired back so quick Enzo wasn't expecting it. Then the 2 tavern doors broke open and a tall buff man and a small boney child walked in. The difference in age had to be more than 30 years. They both walked up to the counter where Enzo, Elza, the granny, and the young woman was at.
"Are you he who goes by Enzo." The little boy said in a posh manner.
"Yeah i am who's asking." Enzo could see this boy grew up rich.
"Your father and younger brother." Enzo was taken aback by those words he had never had family. The closest thing to him was Elza.
"I don't have a family."
"Are you really so dumb as to think you just appeared in this world?"
"No, but i never had a family there for me. If the so called people who birthed me left me here and are just now coming to get me after 17 years of neglect than they can leave i've done good by myself so far."
"Even if the people in question is the king?"
"I'm not the king's son. But if you insist i'll go with you. On one condition my sister comes with me."
"Thought you said you don't have family?"
"I don't but i do have Elza. The best and most beautiful swordswoman i have ever seen."
"Okay." The little turned around and started walking out of the tavern. Enzo and Elza followed. After walking for about 10 mins they got to a big royal ship.
"Hey watch my ship for me." Enzo called out to Garold." I might be gone a while." Enzo and Elza boarded the ship. Then they set sail.
"Ok little man so you say my dad is the king and i have throne right. I still don't know your name."
The little boy turned towards him.
"I have no reason to lie to you. The king spent 11 months in that town and left after his mistress died from giving birth to a child. That child was you.The king then left this child in front of an orphanage and left the port city. Also my name is Aryn."
"So who are you, my younger brother? If so how old are you?"
"Yes i am your younger brother and im 12 years old."
"Ok so then you should have one adaptation what is it?"
"I used it on my feet to make me run faster and be able to run easier with no shoes. What have you used your two for?"
"Nothing yet. Instead of using my adaptations i just made myself better. She did the same thing too. So we still have 2 open slots." The girl he was talking about was Elza who was sitting next to him. After he finished talking he got up and went to his room to fall asleep. The old buff man from before walked in the room. Enzo being the light sleeper he is woke up and looked at the door then grabbed his sword. "Yes?"
"You two sleep together even though your both over the age of 15?"
"Yes what's the problem with that. We've been sleeping together since we were children. What's another night?"
The old man walked out of the room and closed the door. Elza looked up at Enzo. "There's no way he walked in here just to see if we slept together. So what was his initial plans?"
"Good point but it doesn't really matter if he tries to do something. We'll just beat him up."
