"Hey, I'm the real System here!" yelled the blue-haired girl. Although she had no idea how this woman got here, she couldn't ignore someone trying to take over her role.
"Little girl, you want to fight me?" The red-haired woman tauntingly smiled, her eyebrows arched mockingly.
The blue haired girl's amicable appearance completely disappeared as her face contorted hatefully, her voice becoming a low growl:
"B*tch! Who do you think you are?"
"I'm the Ultra-Rare VRS Cabin system- I am the VRS. Who the hell are you?!" The VRS-System smirked, her head lifted up haughtily.
"Well, I'm the System of Transcendence, a holy goddess to all men! No one even knows of you and your stupid Ultra-Rare sh*t!"
"B*tch!! Come here right now," demanded the VRS-System.
"You think I'm scared of you?!" The Transcendence System stuck her tongue out at her. The red-haired woman stormed at her angrily.
"Ah!"
"You *$^#&@(*%&(!#*)@!"
Wuji stared on, dumbfounded.
Suddenly, a figure materialized in a burst of light.
"You!" Wuji recognized the small child.
"Oh, hello Wuji, I came to see what the commotion wa-"
"..." The god stared at the two systems pulling each other's hair.
"..." Wuji responded in turn.
Their turns and screeches were like a mix of fire and water, yin and yang, hot and cold. The two hadn't realized they were being stared at until the god coughed.
"Ahem…"
The Systems both turned and stared daggers at the god.
"What?!" they both yelled.
"Excuse me?" The god's eye twitched, his face livid. Finally noticing who it was, the System's expressions became mortified.
"Ah, Creator!"
"Oh, God!"
They both kneeled, their heads bowed down in shame as red filled their burning cheeks. They knew they had made a dire mistake this time.
"I suppose you two are happy now? Embarrassing me in front of a human?"
"No...of course not."
"I deeply apologize, Creator. It was my fault."
"No, it was mine!"
"No, I am to blame."
"You!"
The two went at it again, until the god yelled,"I've had enough with you two!"
In an instant, the god teleported to their sides, grabbing their ears as it pulled them like a mother chiding her children.
"Ow, OW!"
"WAH!"
The two bawled, tears staining their beautiful faces. The god looked at them coldly, hushing their cries.
"Sorry about this Wuji, I had expected much more from them."
"Uh- It's no problem…" Wuji was speechless.
"Although, I'm very surprised that your VRS system was able to materialize here."
"I mean, you said she was special right?" Wuji shrugged.
"Special? Indeed she is, but… never mind, go on and enter the world. Many others have already gone in."
"Ok..." Wuji eyebrows scrunched up suspiciously- the god was definitely hiding something from him.
The god's little fingers traced a circle in the air, quietly whispering a chant. A massive quake could be heard as a mystical portal appeared, white light coming out like tendrils of fog.
"Go ahead."
Wuji turned to the portal. This was it. A small screen popped up, asking him for his name.
His eyebrows furrowed in thought. He couldn't use Free, that would make him too noticeable in the game. After some time thinking, he decided to stick with his real name, Wang Wuji.
[Confirm?]
"Confirm."
Satisfied with his decision, he turned around to ask the god something but was met with its small hands pushing him into the portal.
"Ah-"
"In you go!"
His scream ebbed away as he was sucked inside. As the god looked at Wuj's disappearing frame, it quietly whispered to the dejected VRS-System:
"Did he reach it?"
"Yes master, he was able to. That's why I was able to come. Sniff...sniff"
"..."
The god stared at the portal, contracting inwardly as it disappeared with a high-pitched ring. Any traces of Wuji were completely gone. It was as if he was never there.
"Indeed, you're the special one…"
. . .
Of course, Wuji did not know any of this was going on. Currently, he was falling through pitch black darkness; he felt like he was descending down a bottomless hole.
F*ck, he thought to himself. The next time I see that god, I swear I really am going to-
A mechanical voice interrupted his thoughts:
[Welcome to Transcendence]
[Assigning Starting Location . . . ]
[Novice Village, Herland Village]
Wuji braced himself, preparing to exit. But then the voice sounded out again, crackling lightly.
[ … Location Changed ]
It began to garble some unknown language:
[ *@&(#&$(@)!&$*$@*@#O&($)@_
**#@&$()@*%*@(#*$@)#*$$%^&*&^
%^$^&(&^%&*&%^&*&^$#@&*@(#$%^@#$!^*@^ ]
[ . . . Assigning New Location]
"What?!" Wuji panicked.
[Village of Legends]
He didn't even have time to scream before a sudden flash of light filled his surroundings and Wuji came flying out of the portal. Expecting solid ground, his face contorted miserably as he realized that he was still falling, his surroundings now a crystal-clear blue.
He was in the sky.
"AHH!"
He breathed hard, trying to calm himself. Looking at his distance from the ground, he assumed that if there was the same gravitational laws from Earth, then adding that five over here and subtracting this number... he would approach the ground in approximately … five seconds.
"Oh sh*t!"
He closed his eyes, bracing for impact and a sudden death. Hopefully it wouldn't be painful... He couldn't help but open his eyes right before they met the ground.
Splat! . . . The sound of his body exploding into little chunks did not arrive. Slowly, he opened his eyes, his head blurry and vision shaky. His head felt like someone had liquified his brain in a blender.
Disgruntled, Wuji groaned: "Ugh… I'm alive?"
Looking at his body, he was surprised to see himself uninjured. He was wearing a tattered white shirt and faded brown trousers. Besides the poor quality of his clothing, the rest of his body seemed perfectly fine. He stared oddly at his appearance, which was exactly the same as the character model he had chosen, having this strange feeling that this had been his body for his entire life. Indeed, virtual reality was incredible.
A familiar voice resounded in his mind:
[Invulnerability Effect has worn off]
Wuji sighed in relief. Of course, they wouldn't let the players start without some kind of safety effect to prevent being killed right away. Unfortunately, that safety net had now expired.
His gaze shifted to his surroundings, trying to find out where exactly he was. He faintly recalled that this was supposed to be the [Village of Legends]. He was still rather skeptical on why his location had changed from the [Novice Village]. Likely something to do with that god...
However, the area he was in didn't look like a village at all; he was in a valley lushly filled with greenery and vegetation. Lively green shrubs sporadically covered the grassy terrain and the brown tree trunks were like giraffe necks, their ends extending into green, leafy umbrellas. The surrounding wilderness teemed with life- chirps, buzzes and hums permeated the air, the disparate sounds filling his ears. Loud roars and hisses made the hairs on his neck stand up. This was not a safe place- not a safe place at all.
Cursing silently, he ran towards an old gravel road, with the arching path behind him fading away to the point where it was barely recognizable. Somehow he had noticed the faint gray in the corner of his eye. Before following the path, Wuji tried to access the interface- if there was one.
"System Interface!"
A beep responded, blue light filling his eyes as a hologram screen appeared in front of him.

Immediately, Wuji's body lit up, his eyes gaining a hint of clarity. A pleasurable sensation overtook him, but he didn't dare to stay in that mindless state for long. He cursed at the glowing light of the interface; it revealed his position far too easily in this wilderness. It was like someone had stuck a flashing sign on his back that just screamed "eat me."
He tried testing out his spiritual sense. A light green domain expanded across the region, invisible to all but Wuji. He was shocked that he could now sense up to 30 meters and vaguely up to 40 if he tried. Fifty and beyond was a fuzzy world that made his head hurt. Of course, in the real world, his perception was only fifteen meters- a stark difference.
If he had to describe it, his spiritual sense was like a sonar. In Wuji's mind, he could "see" various red dots on this sonar-like screen. His eyes bulged as he noticed many small and large dots quickly heading toward his direction.
"Well, that doesn't look good." Wuji closed the interface, saving the rest of the options for later. He had to get to somewhere safe first. Storming off, he continued to follow the worn-down path.
