"Mom...Why does no one ever talk to me? They say...I am not the worthy of talking with them..." I knew it back then...No one used to talk to me. I always questioned mother with the same thing over and over again but she had no answer to it. Every time I asked the question, she said "one day...You would know." But before that one day 'IT' occurred.
I saw those same kids bullying another kid from my school. "Get on your knees now. Don't you know, only we are the one's who are worthy of the fame and glory of a Knight?!" The kid who led the group said. "NEVER! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT COWARDS BULLYING ME BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MANA LIKE YOU...I will get strong and once I get strong, I will...Defeat you." The boy who was getting beaten gets up holding his arm and says. "I call bullshit on that." One of the leader's buddy says. "Guess we have to help him understand our power, that's a Knights responsibility right?" The other buddy says.
The buddy got ready to punch the beaten kid but I came in front of the 3 kids and held his hand and kicked him back. "What?! You?! HOW DARE YOU STAND IN FRONT OF US NOBLES YOU DIRTY SCUMBAG!" That leader kid said to me. My mom had been teaching me martial arts since she adopted me. So, I was pretty skilled by then. I saw the punch of that leader kid coming towards me. I easily dodged it. "The hell?!" The leader looked confuse. "You use bad words for a noble. I don't think so that the way you all speak, is the way how the rich and the wealthy speak." I say. "How dare you?!" The kid's buddy says. "You will pay for talking shit to us!" The other buddy says. I smiled and said, "Bring it on."
That day, my mom had to face embarrassment from the nobles because of me. After all I beat their kids up but she didn't seem disappointed in me, she actually seemed pretty happy. "Well done son." She said. "But you...You were scold because of me...Weren't you?" I said... My mom came down to me and said, "Remember boy, doesn't matter what kind of situation it is, it's important that you make harsh, ruthless and tough decisions...Even if it means killing someone..." Her voice sounded down with that last sentence. I didn't know what she meant back then. "That's how a knight must operate. You obviously had no other way of saving that kid and you did what you thought was best to save that kid and for that, I am proud of you my son..." She said and hugged me back then.
"Sometimes you have to take a harsh decision, Captain. That's the way a knight should operate." I say to Tamie. "But..." I make a sword out of silver and point at her. "Think not only about yourself but of your crew-mates too. Do you think they would want to live a life of undead? No, right?! So, can't we just give them a peaceful life and send them to their rightful place." I say looking right into Tamie's tearful eyes. "Captain...Please...We have to do this..." Tamie nods. "BEHIND YOU MARSHAL!" Sean calls out. I look behind me, Jack and May are way close to me. I swing my sword by their chests and back off. "You don't mind if I kill them now do you, Captain?" I ask Tamie. Tamie holds my hand. "Huh?!" She gets up as she wiped her final tears.
"Sorry, as a captain...I let you all down but this is personal so...Let me do this." Tamie says and as grabs my sword. "Understood...Captain." I let her grab the steel sword I created. "I am sorry...I couldn't save you all...I am really sorry...I hope once I stab you with this sword both of you...Both of you will be in better place." Tamie smiles and tear floats from her eyes. She passes right through them as we blink our eyes...As fast as ever... "Sorry...Jack...May...Both of you...Both of you were...Like little brother and sisters to me..."
People always tend to hesitate...But sometimes...You just have to take a tough decision and when that time comes...Not any of us must hesitate or else it may lead to a bad end of your own life. That is what...My mother taught me on that day...Never thought that advice would in handy in such a grim situation.
Our captain couldn't do anything but cry right in front of both of us, covering her face with both her hands. "I will take care of her. You find a way out of here." Sean says to me. I nod. He nods back. I look around all the walls looking for some kind of secret exit. Dungeons tend to have such exits. I do all this while Sean consols Tamie. I think so this wall has something engraved on it. I press it and the wall in front of me opens. "I found an exit!" I say to Sean and Tamie. Sean nods. "Let's go Captain. We still have a job to complete." Sean says. "Yes.." Tamie gets up.
Tamie comes up to me. "I am sorry Henry, if not for you...I think so we all would have been dead and both of my subordinates would have never rested in piece." Tamie says to me. "Captain, I am proud to be working with you. It's never easy to lose someone close to you...And especially when your the one killing them but...It takes a lot of guts to do what you did here today and I am proud to be on such a Knights squad...Even if it means only for a day." I say. "Thank you Henry..." Tamie gives back her old smile.
"Smiling here huh?" That voice it's that unknown person from before. He was the one who set that trap back there. Tsch! "Him again!" Sean looks angry. Tamie takes a deep breathe. Her chest is too big for what she just did and I just noticed that. "ALRIGHT YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT! BRING IT ON! You think your going to get away from what you just did huh? Well let me tell you something then, I will make sure to give you a death that not even the wrath of a god can stop!" Tamie screams out. "Making threats now? Don't you humans learn that threats don't mean a thing unless and until you prove yourself." The voice says. "Now, the end of the dungeon is quite close human, make it there and then we shall see how effective your threats really are." The voice continues. "You got it, I am on my way for your head." Tamie says.
With that, Tamie and us went deeper into the dungeon. This dungeon sure is huge. I am mean who would have thought that there would be another layer below the dungeon and now this layer goes deep inside too. This is one hell of a dungeon and one hell of a hiding spot for that unknown voice man.
"Hey, don't you feel like we have been walking for quite some while." Sean says. "Yeah, I feel like this has been a long walk." Tamie says. "There is something wrong." I say. "No wonder jackass, that's what I was saying." Why does Sean need to be a complete dickhead. "I have an idea." I say. "Alright, what is it?" Sean asks. "How about we leave some kind of mark here?" I say. "A mark? Do you think that we are walking in a loop?" Tamie asks. I nod. "Sure then." I create a knife and dig a X on the wall. We begin walking again. Suddenly, Sean realises something as we walk. He looks to his right where I made the X on the wall. "Dude...How is this happening?!" Sean asks us. "What?!" I look at Sean along with Tamie. Sean points at the X. "The X isn't moving but we are...What kind of bullshit is this?!"
