I don't know the point of the skill window. It's very cool, but I have already memorized all my skills(except hyper arrow). What's the point of reading skills when you need to have them memorized in battle against slimes. I might only have a few skills, but I believe it's important to keep them at the top of your head. It makes sense for the most part, but I don't understand what Level means or what it means by Expand.
"Hey system, can you help me out here?"
*User can read skill descriptions by pressing the Expand button. Level is the stage of the skill's power. When a skill level is maxed it is at its highest stage of power. Press the 'X' to close window or wave your hand.*
I had to ask the system to repeat itself because I was to focused on why it didn't have quotation marks. After it said everything again I recognized how weak I was. Most of my skills were at their early stages. I haven't gotten stronger because I only hunted slimes! Well I don't really care. Slimes are where it's at yo!
I saw that there was an extra skill that I didn't know I had. I read the description of Slime Sensation and a smile grew out of my face.
[Slime Sensation Lvl ∞(passive)(ready to evolve): When a slime is killed, User will temporarily be immune to pain and all mental debuffs will be removed. While the slime is killed User will feel a feeling of ecstasy and bliss.]
I didn't know this was considered a skill. It so amazing! Definitely a gift from Mr. Great Slime. It also said that it was ready to evolve, and I didn't know what that meant.
"Yo System can you give me the deets?"
*Please do not use the word 'deets'. You need to kill 1000 slimes for a skill to evolve into a new skill. All abilities of previous skill remain.*
It was great! It was perfect! The system gave me everything I needed and I wanted. I would be able to Feel Slime Sensation in the form of a new skill. I wouldn't have to do anything difficult either. All I had to do was kill slimes! I couldn't hold my excitement in and-
"THANK YOU!!!"
I think that was the third time I yelled. My appreciation echoed throughout the forest once more. I was attracting the attention of other monsters by the "river". I was going to leave before I was attacked, but a group of Froxes came out of nowhere and were running at me. They are small, furry, and vicious. Like a combination of a rat and a fox. It isn't the first time I ran into these little fellas. I encountered them before and learned a lot about them, so I can hunt slimes safely. I didn't kill them because I made a vow to not kill any creatures other than my precious slimes.
I ran away as fast as I could. My plan wasn't to escape. I had another sticky trick up my sleeves! I was running toward an unhostile monster called a Groog, that loves to eat Froxes. Groog's are enormous, stinky, fluffy frogish-looking creatures. They were nothing like the beloved slime. I heard they are hard to kill, but I never knew why people tried to kill non hostile monsters anyway. Maybe because they are evil too.
Froxes are smart and cunning so they would be smart enough to run away when we got close to the Groog's territory. I wasn't planning on letting them die unless they continued to chase me. But they did. It was weird because I thought they'd think to leave me alone, but I guess monsters are just stupid like that. I'd never continue to chase a monster if it brought me into a dangerous territory. Well unless it was a slime.
As I was getting deeper into Groog Territory I recognized something weird. No Groog. I looked around and didn't see a single trace of the monster anywhere. I saw that the Froxes had stopped chasing me so I turned around to go back.
ROAAAR!!!
I froze. My body was uncontrollably shaking and cold feeling ran down my spine. I was scared. Well I wasn't scared, but I somehow felt fear. I couldn't control my "fear" or my body and cold sweat formed on my forehead. I was getting goosebumps and the tingles of darkness. Those were the bad tingles.
I wasn't able to turn around and see what had roared, but I could tell it wasn't the Froxes that were chasing me a minute ago. However, there was a line of Froxes in front of me staring at me with hungry eyes. They came out of nowhere after I thought they were gone.
My body was slowly gaining composure and I was able to move. I slowly turned my head around and saw a beast I've never seen before.
An Alpha Frox.
I didn't know it's name so I gave it a cool one of my creation. It was a bigger and more viscous looking Frox compared to the other weak Froxes. It had sharp claws and plenty of pointy teeth. It was probably the same strength as a giant slime. Giant slimes are pretty strong and can regenerate. This Alpha Frox looked like it was on that level.
It slowly began approaching me and I wasn't in a position to escape. I'm not an idiot and I will kill the monster if I have to. Even if it means breaking my vow. I grabbed my sword and stood in my Zendu stance. After I had unsheathed my blade the Alpha Frox did a dash. It was right in front of me before I had a chance to react. It swang it's claws at me and all I could do was embrace.
Critical hit.
I was cut through my stomach and I went flying into a tree. I thought a mysterious force was going to protect me from the hit because I was special, but I was wrong. The only special thing that happened was my absorption. Since the claws had entered my body for a short time I absorbed part of the claw and didn't get completely destroyed. I still felt the full power of the attack though. The worst part is that I still think it was holding back. Anger was building up inside me. My body wasn't strong enough to contain my anger so I let it out.
"GOSH WHY AM I SO WEAK!!"
I thought all those years of hunting slimes made me stronger, but in reality it made me an inexperienced hunter. I'll try hunting other monsters so it can become safer for me to hunt slimes. If this situation were to occur again I would be well prepared. While I was lying against the tree almost unable to move and probably about to die, I was thinking about future life plans.
I was unaware that all the weak Froxes were approaching me and about to feast. They were unalarmed by my random shout for some reason and my yell caused them to approach me faster. I came to reality when I saw one bite on my stomach. I recognized that one was already eating and didn't hold back. The other ones were observing if I was safe to eat and were hesitant so they didn't come right away like the first. The Froxes actions were so easy to understand.
I think I would be in pain right now if my back didn't hit the tree. I barely felt anything except for numbness. I was barely able to move my body, but I had a special skill called Organ Manipulation.
Along with monster anatomy, I also know human anatomy. Amazing right! I know so much stuff! I know where the organs in my body are and since I have this new skill I can move them. It may sound weird, but it's freaking cool!
I moved my bones from my ribcage down to cover my stomach. I couldn't tell how it felt(sadly) because my spine was damaged. The process was slow, but it startled the Frox causing him to take a step back. The blood that was about to leak out and cause me to die was absorbed back into my blood flow. I was also trying to position my spinal cord and nerves so I could move, but sadly it didn't work.
The other Froxes saw me doing this and didn't try to eat me. I would be smiling if I could right now, but I am partially paralyzed. That sucked because I wanted to laugh at the Froxes reactions. It wasn't as fun as killing slimes, but it was still fun creeping out monsters by moving my bloody organs around in my body! If you could do it you'd enjoy it as well.
The Alpha Frox, who was overseeing the feast, was staring me down, but it didn't approach. It was slightly shaking, but didn't show anything on its face. They were scared! I didn't know why, maybe I looked weird and inedible.
I took the opportunity and used Organ Manipulation again. This time I moved my muscles, skin and bones simultaneously to move my body away from the Froxes. My body was shifting weirdly and shaking on the ground before it started to slide away. I looked like a dead body that was being slowly dragged away by a invisible force. I had ribs sticking out of my stomach and I had my back bent in a weird angle.
I was obviously in a bad condition, but I didn't care about that because I was moving like a slime! My body was shifting weirdly and it resembled the way slimes move. I was using this to escape from Froxes who were too scared to attack.
It was the ultimate plan! I wasn't really trying to scare the Froxes by looking all distorted, but I was lucky enough for it to turn out that way! I should probably use this as a trump card in future battles, but then it would require me to hide Organ Manipulation. I should probably focus on sliding away right now.
I moved as close to the river as possible while getting as far away as I could from the Froxes. I escaped! I was able to get to the river safely and the Froxes didn't even try to chase me. The best part was that I didn't even need to break my slime vow and kill other monsters! I put my head in the water so I could drink. The water was nasty, but it served as a reward and I don't think this water was poisonous.
*Gained Skill: Poison Body Lvl 1(passive). Read skill description for more information. Future skills will be harder to collect.
There was probably some slime in that water. I never tried to eat them before and I didn't know they were poisonous. I should probably eat some slimes in the future to experiment. Nevermind that's gross no matter how much I think about it. Now that I think about it, if there was slime in that water that meant there was a slime nearby!
I laid there and began thinking over what had happened while I was waiting. I wasn't really in a condition to sit there and think, but my body was absorbing the blood that was about to leak out of my body so it was fine. I wasn't able to make my skin regenerate or my injuries heal faster, but if I combined my skills it would take longer for me to die.
...
Overall this was a very good and fun experience for me! I didn't level any skills, but I learned that I would need to start fighting more monsters because they would interrupt my slime hunts. I had to start thinking seriously about the future if I wanted to continue feeling Slime Sensation. I decided that day I would need to break away from my addiction. Well not entirely, just until I was strong enough to hunt slimes safely.
*Systems purpose is to help you hunt slimes. You are currently unaware of all system functions. You can view your current options if you say please.*
"Please?"
*System allows User choose a slime goal which User will enjoy killing. Slime goal is a powerful slime that is at a high stage of evolution. They are usually located in dungeons or laberynths, but can also be found in nature.*
"Can I choose now?!"
*No*
"WHY?!"
*User must first focus on their wounds and injuries. Killing a slime will allow you to move.*
I had earlier tasted a slime nearby so all I had to do was lay there peacefully. It was quiet and lonely and I think I was there for a few minutes. The only friend I had was a slime that had came out of the water after losing piece of its body. Yes a slime! I couldn't kill it by slashing it like I always did, but I was able to smash it with my arm.
"Aaaha!!"
I exclaimed as I felt the strength in my body return. It was time for a recovery. Slime Sensation was taking effect and any traces of fear were gone. I could move my body as well. Maybe paralysis was a mental debuff.
*Organ Manipulation has increased in level. Future skill levels will now be harder obtain.*
I was notified by the system that my skill level had increased. I read my skill description to see if there was anything else I could do.
[Organ Manipulation Lvl 2(active): All organs that are part of your body are able to be moved slowly. New: Increased Organ Movement speed and now allows organ shape to change.]
I checked to see how fast my organs could move. That sounded pretty weird. My organs could move pretty fast now. At first it would take my ribs ten seconds to fully cover my stomach. Now it takes about 5 seconds. I'm not that good at counting seconds though I'm usually about 3-6 seconds off every time.
*It takes 2 seconds.*
Oh I must be counting my seconds pretty fast. I should start taking my time. Wait does this mean my perception of time was wrong all my life? Dang I screwed myself over by not paying attention during school.
…
I began to move my organs around my body so that my injury was more on the inside of my body than the outside. I made my spine and spinal cord go straight from my head and neck downwards so it wasn't necessarily in my back, but I didn't make it straight so I could be more flexible. I had more mobility because I could bend my spine any way I wanted to! For my backs protection I thickened the muscles and compacted my excess skin on top it by changing the shape.
Now I had to focus on my stomach...
