"Goodbye Reika-chan..."
*CLANG*
A loud metallic sound was generated as Boukyaku hit the ground. I had managed to let go of it, just barely missing Myria's chest. 'I almost killed my only friend with my own hands...' I was in complete despair, I had almost killed my one and only friend in this world. 'She hates me now, she's scared of me, I am a monster...' Were the thoughts that filled my head. I then faced a teary Myria looking at me with curiosity, confusion, and fear...
"I'm sorry..."
I muttered.
"..."
She wasn't answering. 'She really hates me now, doesn't she?'
"I'm really sorry!"
I yelled as I sheathed Boukyaku and ran away as fast as I could from Myria. I was heartbroken. 'The one friend I had just managed to make, hates me, despises me, loathes me.' Were my single thoughts as I run as fast as I could. But just before I could completely leave Myria behind, I heard some words.
"Reika-chan don't le..."
I didn't hear the rest, she seemed like she didn't mean any harm. But I can't even control myself anymore... 'I don't want to be hurt, but I don't want to hurt either.' I cried as these thoughts poured into my mind. I kept sobbing and crying while running with all of my strength.
I guess, it was from my stats but I hadn't realized at the ludicrous speed I was going. I finally reached the end of the forest but what was waiting for me wasn't an open field, it was a cliff. It was tall, dangerous and too close. I wasn't able to avoid the cliff, partly because I wasn't able to react fast enough and partly because I didn't have the will to avoid it. In the end, I ran off the cliff...
*THUD* *CRACK*
I did not even attempt to stand up, as I stay in the ground bleeding. In the end, I was wounded, but I was alive... yet I might as well be dead...
"Why can't I even die? Am I useless even for that?"
I managed to mutter in between my crying. It was quite impressive that I wasn't dead considering the huge fall I just experienced. 'But I did have those high stats due to Boukyaku, right?'
"Is it possible?"
I said as I wiped the tears running down my face.

"1 level per person killed I guess..."
I was straight up depressed at this point. Without even caring for the monsters that might prey on me as I lay there, I went to sleep crying, suffering in my misery.
※
The sun had returned to the sky, birds were singing, a beautiful breeze and smell filled my senses.
I had just woken up. Immediately I noticed 2 things. First, I no longer had any wounds. 'I guess they healed overnight?' And second, for some reason, I no longer felt too depressed. At this point, I can only infer that this must also be 'Boukyaku' changing me, but I can't really do anything about it. Or rather I don't feel like doing anything about it?
"Hah〜. There's no use in sulking forever."
I said as I stretched and stood up. It came as a surprise to me that no monsters had attacked me, but I don't think much about it. After reflecting thoroughly on what I should do next, I had decided to remain heading to the Litherm Kingdom.
I thought of heading back to the destroyed camp for Myria. But I wouldn't be able to face her... I feel to anxious just thinking about her.
"Thinking about it logically, it is extremely unlikely Myria will arrive at the Litherm Kingdom before me, considering she has no transport... and I have this newfound speed."
With that decided, I took the cliff I ran off from as a reference with the camp and managed to get a general idea of the direction the Litherm Kingdom was at.
"Alright then..."
I readied myself...
"Here we GO!"
The very second my foot started to move, the ground below it was obliterated by my sheer speed. I was made conscious of my outstanding speed by force.
"Uwah〜!"
I was running at an unfathomable speed, yet I was able to detect the oncoming objects, allowing me to dodge them with ease. Thinking about it now...
"I guess I could've avoided that cliff last night. Hehe〜"
As I giggled and thought to myself, I kept running in the direction of the Litherm Kingdom at grand speeds.
※
About 5 hours had gone past, judging by the position of the sun when I was finally able to spot something.
"Woah! Are those walls?"
I said in between my heavy breathing as I started to slow down. I had been running for an absurdly long period of time, with only small breathers in between them.
"HAH〜! This time I'm really tired!"
I was panting, and trying to gasp for air. But seeing the walls before me made me quite hopeful.
"These sure are huge! Well, not as big as Everidian's but much more impressive!"
The walls back at the Everidian Kingdom were made out of regular stone but were at least 20 meters high. In contrast, these walls were probably 16 or 17 meters, but these walls were made out of a shiny white stone with several watchtowers. It was quite exceptional, to say the least.
"Oh〜! Ah〜!"
I was left to stare at the walls in awe. when I finally spotted my target, the city gate. Seeing it I quickly took hid behind a bush nearby and started scanning the area. The gates were being guarded by knights wearing a familiar armor.
"Isn't that the same armor the knights guarding us wore?"
'This should be useful information' I thought to myself as I kept scanning the entry process for clues as to how to get in since jumping over the wall might not be impossible... but is out of the question. Continuing to observe people going into the city I finally managed to make out the process.
"So, you have to show some sort of ID to confirm your identity as a human and then you'll have to pay a fee of a silver coin to access the city, huh?"
'Simple enough' I thought to myself as I grinned. Behind the bush, I began thinking of a story and when I was done I placed myself in line to enter. I tried to do it in a way that wouldn't attract any attention but...
"Woah〜 what a beauty" Stranger 1
"She must be noble?!" Stranger 2
"No! Look she is holding a sword..." Stranger 3
"She must be an extremely powerful adventurer?" Stranger 4
In an instant, I had become the center of attention for everyone, and without even leaving me a moment to process what was happening, the people in front of me stepped aside allowing me to be called first.
'Oh no! I REALLY MESSED UP NOW!' I was panicking, but I managed to keep my cool and walked towards a blushing ikemen (AN: Japanese word for handsome male) guard who nervously asked:
"Hell-hello miss, cou-could y-you show me yo-your ID-ID. please?"
'Let the act commence!'
"No, good sir. You see, I'm an adventurer. I was employed for an escorting mission, but we were attacked by strong bandits..."
Contrary to expectations, when I said the words 'strong bandits' the knight seemed to flinch. 'Guess they are an actual problem? Guess I'll exploit that, hehe'. I then put my perfected depressed face, something I have a lot of practice making, and continued.
"All of my crew, friends, mistress... They were all killed by those bandits..."
'Time to end this, hehe' Putting all of my sadness into tearing up my eyes, I broke my voice a bit and continued.
"I-I barely managed to es-escape with my li-life... And as such, I no lo-longer have any-anything on me... Would you be so kind as to let me thro...?
Was I interrupted by sobbing? I stopped talking and began gazing around me without making my curiosity too obvious. To my surprise, everyone around me was crying. 'WHAT?!?' I turned to the guard once more, trying to keep my sad face on. He was literally sobbing as if he had just been told the most heart-crushing story in the history of heartbreaking stories. He looked at me and managed to wail:
"I-I'm so so-sorry for your lo-loss... You mu-must be grie-grieving so much..."
He then regained some of his composure and continued much calmer:
"Don't worry, just go. You don't have to pay anything. Please continue to live your life and move on from this dark episode in your life..."
He said to me with a warm and honest smile, signalling me to enter.
"..."
I was at a complete loss for words... 'How are these people so gullible?' I also felt somewhat guilty as I gripped the pouch of coins in my jacket's pocket. 'I did have money though...' I sighed trying to release myself from what had just happened and began strolling around the city. I was now looking for an adventurer's guild.
"Where is it〜? Where is it〜?
'Going by the design of Everidian kingdom, it should be near the royal palace.'
"Alright then, guess I'll head there."
On my way there, I was able to observe this kingdom's livelihood... Almost everyone's eyes were stuck to me. It felt somewhat awkward, but I paid it no mind. Furthermore, from what I was able to observe there were different fantasy races inhabiting this kingdom as well. Elves, dwarves, beast men, angels consisted of the races I was able to make out. 'I guess, this Estrea world can be nice sometimes' I thought as an involuntary smile crept up my face.
In the end, I walked for about 1 hour, observing the delicious food, extravagant individuals, and luxurious buildings until I finally arrived at my destination...
"Ah. There it is!"
