Chapter 6 - Introducing the Kids

Dorami sat on her sofa, dazed again. She was waiting for her oh-so-famous brother to get himself ready to join her date. He was going to join her date with Kenyu, alright. She could only imagine the date to be the most disastrous of the century now. She sighed for the hundredth time when she thought of how to explain the situation to the man who asked her on a date.

"Suallemon, if you don't hurry, I'm going to go ahead."

She cringed when she had to call him 'Suallemon'. The name was like a spell. She could make him do anything if she called him by his stage name because she sounded cute while saying it – was what her brother said. She heard him rushing out from the bedroom. She should have known that he would spend more than half an hour on styling his hair alone and he didn't look any better, just thick brown hair in a man bun.

"I'm ready! Let's go go!"

Sual held his sister's arm and excitedly skipped his way to the entrance door, making her do the same move. Dorami wanted to cry. She really couldn't handle the childish type. If Jo-Ee also came with them, she would die before she could even meet Kenyu at their appointed place.

"Oh, where are you going?"

When the siblings opened the door, Jo-Ee in baggy clothes magically appeared in front of them with a lollipop in her mouth. She was also carrying some groceries.

"Jo-Ee! What a great timing! We were going to pick you up at your house." Sual enthusiastically told her. He seemed to be in a very good mood.

"Pick me up? Are we going somewhere?" Jo-Ee turned to ask Sual's sister who was standing there soullessly with her arm powerlessly linked with his. Her eyes were those of a dead fish.

"Yes! We are going out to play today! Let's go!" And Sual linked his other arm with Jo-Ee's.

"Okay! Let's gooo!!"

Dorami's best friend somehow got excited too. Both she and Sual were skipping at the same pace while dragging Dorami along with them until they arrived at the bus stop. The poor girl looked like she already gave up on everything in the world, including her date with Kenyu.

She was going to send him a last-minute cancellation message saying that she got sick and couldn't go out on a date with him but the ever punctual Kenyu sent her a message that said 'I've arrived and will be waiting in the café nearby. Take your time,' and added with a cute smiling emoticon. Great, she couldn't cancel it now.

"So which bus shall we hop on?" Jo-Ee asked.

"Let's go to where my friend is first." Dorami replied and Jo-Ee gasped. She had an idea of who that friend was and grinned from ear to ear. 'It's going to be fun,' she thought.

.....

Kenyu had a surprise look on his face. He didn't know that Dorami had to be accompanied when she went on dates. He took a quick glance at the girl on the right side of his date. She was wearing baggy clothes and had slippers on. She even had a plastic bag with her too. He didn't have to know what were inside, though. Another person on the left was a handsome taller man with better body than him. He looked familiar but Kenyu couldn't remember what his name was.

He turned to look at Dorami. She looked defeated and her clothes were in disarray because of who-know-what happened. He didn't feel very good seeing her like that next to the taller man. He had the urge to bring her to his side but tried not to.

"Sorry, Kenyu. They had to come with me because he didn't want to be left alone..,"

Dorami paused and Kenyu's breath also paused. 'Why would he not want to be left alone by you?' He wanted to ask the question to her but held himself back again.

"…and she only tagged along because she had nowhere else to go. They are my brother Sual, and my friend Jo-Ee." She continued unenthusiastically. She didn't want to introduce her problematic brother and friend to him but at the same time, she also wanted to be honest as much as possible about the reasons why they came along.

Dorami had no idea that Kenyu was only able to breathe again after he heard that the bigger man was her brother. Now that he looked at them again, they really did have similar facial features. He smiled and introduced himself to the other two.

"Hello, my name is Kenyu Lain. I'm Dorami's friend and colleague. Nice to meet you."

The gentlemanly Kenyu reached his hand to shake theirs while smiling again.

Sual and Jo-Ee looked at one another and both grabbed the gentleman's hand each, then shook them vigorously. They had too much energy in their hands that he thought his were going to get crushed. Dorami who was watching from the sideline had a small smile on her face.

'He said he is my friend.' Dorami repeated what Kenyu said. That one line from him could bring the soulless her back to life. She felt like she finally got a step closer to the unreachable dream of becoming best friends with Kenyu again.

"Okay! So where shall we go?" Jo-Ee hung her bag of groceries over her shoulders and started showing off her consensual leadership style. She acted like she was the leader of the gang.

"I want to go to the amusement park!" Sual raised his hand and answered with passion.

"Okay! Let's go to the amusement park!" What consensual, she only took one member's opinion into consideration.

With that, both of them linked their arms again and went skipping all the way back to the bus stop. Dorami let out a deep sigh again. She was then startled when Kenyu bursted out laughing next to her. He almost fell down to the ground from laughing too much. She looked at him and then looked back to the other two who were now turning into small dots because they were already far away. Amusement park, was it? Should she buy cotton candies and share them with Kenyu too?
