Chapter 5 - The Long Haired Man

Dorami was in a daze. She was lying down on the bed with her eyes still wide open and it was already four at dawn. She couldn't believe she stayed up so late because the scene from yesterday morning kept replaying in her mind like a broken tape. All because of what the handsome pilot said so casually, and what made her want to kick her blanket off out of embarrassment was that she nodded as soon as he repeated that he wanted to go on a date to explore the city with her. Honest much?

A date..

She had never gone on a date before. Would people on date go to the amusement park and feed each other cotton candies or stuff like that? She cringed at the thought. Her only imagination about the date was inspired by the first and last romance drama she watched five years ago after all.

She let out a long sigh. If she continued to keep the thoughts coming, she could never fall asleep until another night came.

Just as she was trying to drift into the land of fairies and unicorns, the sound of someone entering her apartment was heard. He was here again.

Dorami gritted her teeth in frustration. She could have just kicked him out for waking her up after she only got to sleep for five minutes, but she was too tried to have any energy left to spend on him so she just let the tall figure slump beside her on the bed. She was going to go back to sleep but damn, she couldn't get a wink after that.

It was six in the morning when Dorami couldn't bear it any longer. She pulled the big man's long hair hard enough for him to let out his manly scream which could destroy the building if it was one decibel higher.

He freed himself from her grip and stroked his long brown hair with care. He groaned when he noticed the girl in front of him still glared at him like he took her favorite toy away by force. Still cute, though. He chuckled.

"Dorami-chan, sorry, did I snore again?"

He proceeded to hug her tight. He missed her so much after not seeing her for two months straight.

"How many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me Dorami-chan?"

Dorami said calmly although inside, she was not calm at all. He was the one who named her Dorami because he thought she looked just like the character in Doraemon, and her parents gave in to him because they liked to spoil him rotten, even now. 'Dorami' was enough already, so why did he have to add the '-chan' after it too?

He was too addicted to the comic and imitated everything that was in there. He even called himself Doraemon up until he went to high school. It was not the end to his craze. He went on into the world of simulation games and anime, getting all cray-cray over a 2D sexy character, a full-fledged Otaku if that's what they call. Also, who else would be so attached to their younger sister when she is already a fully grown woman in her mid-20s.

Only her 30-year-old brother, that is.

"I missed Dorami-chan so much. I thought I was going to die if I couldn't see you one more day."

He hugged her even tighter and nuzzled her hair. Good for him that she washed her hair last night. She had been thinking that her brother was either a pervert who had hair fetish or just a baby in a big man's body who needed motherly warmth. She wondered why a dirty old man like him could attract thousands of young girls and have them all in the palm of his hand.

"Did you watch my final tour live last night?"

He released her from his hug but still held her shoulders gently in his hands, and asked her with expectation in his eyes. To be watched by his dear little sister when he gave his best doing what he loved, would make him giddy all over.

Dorami couldn't resist his puppy eyes so she just gave in and lied. She guessed this was how their parents always felt when they surrendered to his childish tactic.

"I watched it. You were good."

She said, as flat as a tack. It was obviously a lie. Dorami was never good at lying but her brother was just too dense. Well, it wasn't completely a lie, though. She did turn on the TV to help increase the viewership rating but she was too occupied with the thought of Kenyu that she didn't pay any attention to her brother's performance.

He was a member of a popular boy band which had been reigning over the past decade. Yes, the big baby who was also a multi-million net worthy guitarist and the charmer of the group was Dorami's older brother, Sual Mongan, also known as Suallemon. No doubt about it, he was the one who decided on his stage name as well.

…..

The sound of small steps woke Sual from his dreamland.

"Where are you going?"

Sual asked with his hoarse voice which couldn't reach the other person. The screaming earlier in the morning almost damaged his vocal cord, it seemed. He tried to get up from the sofa when he heard the sound of his sister opening the door to leave her apartment, but the blanket he had with him got his legs tangled with it, making him fall down on his face.

Dorami ran back from the entrance to check on Sual after she heard a loud thud. Her clumsy brother might have fallen down to the floor during his sleep again. What she saw then was him rubbing his nose to ease the pain until it became even redder. She couldn't help but laughed at him.

"Haha.. So lame."

"Where are you going?" He ignored her remark and asked her again. He never liked being left alone.

"I- I'm.. I'm going out with a friend!" Yes, with a friend, a soon-to-be friend again.

"With Jo-Ee?"

"…" She couldn't just say it was Jo-Ee. What if her best friend suddenly felt like coming to her house thirty minutes later and met with her brother who was lazing around in the living room? She would be grounded, of course.

Although her brother was dense, he wouldn't be too dense to not know she lied to him if the situation of her what-if really happened. He wouldn't forgive her easily for leaving him alone for another unimportant person. Right, in his opinion, everyone else except their parents, him, and Jo-Ee, to her was not important.

"Then, let me go with you too."
