Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Pendant

"Damn it! I will surely die at this rate!" the injured knight said while he was trying to escape in the forest.

He has deeply wounded from the battle not long ago and now he was being chased by his enemies. As a blood knight, his superiors don't have any inkling about their lives as they are considered as suicide squads of the Empire.

"If I knew that they will abandon us as soon as we encounter our enemies, I should have escaped just before the battle started," Kirsten said in a helpless manner. He experienced a lot of misfortunes in life and most of them are near-death experiences. But those situations are nothing worse compared he is now.

"It looks like I'm gonna use my final resort. I know how unfortunate I am but I have no choice but to depend on my fragile luck. " Kirsten looks to his pendant as if he was looking to his chance to survive.

The pendant is round and deep black in color and in the middle of it is a crimson tear-drop shaped crystal which makes it both mysterious and majestic. This is his family heirloom passed down from many generations. This pendant was with him since his birth and was meant to protect their family linage from dying out.

Kirsten hides behind the tree and started to remove his broken metal armors. He got a few broken ribs, a laceration on his side, and a lot of wounds and bruises all over his body.

Although his family lineage has high regenerative ability compared to common people, it can't completely heal him in a short amount of time. Moreover, he lost a significant amount of blood which can't be restored easily by his regenerative ability

"Hahaha, looks like you're tired of running away blood knight. Don't worry, I will make you rest eternally for giving me a mark on my face!" A tall muscular-built man with the large heavy sword was walking slowly towards Kirsten. He has a bloody wound on his face which makes him look like a fierce demon with rage obviously knitted on his brows.

"Haha, my gift is just suited to your ugly face. You should add another across it to make it like a grave cross. You should learn how to make it better." Kirsten said shamelessly while he was making preparation to use his pendant but suddenly he felt danger ahead and subconsciously rolled away from the tree. Then he saw how the flying heavy sword smashed apart the tree he just hid.

"Just how strong he was! This is the person they wanted us to kill? I rather kill them than to kill this monster!" Kirsten thought as he grit his teeth in pain and anger.

"You should just stay and wait for your death to come." The muscular man said while walking. A smile was stitched on his face but it only made him more frightening than ever.

"You better work or else I will be dragged to my death door."Kirsten looked to his pendant as if he was looking to his final hope. He washed the pendant with his blood while secretly hold it on his hand. He was betting his life on this magical pendant of his.

"Alright, I surrender. But please let me say some few words before I die on your hands." Kirsten said shamelessly then he raised his pendant to the sky and silently whispered words as if he was chanting magic words.

"Oh, Saying your final words? Or trying to buy time. Whatever your plan is, you will still die on my hands. Do you think I'm dumb enough that I don't know what's in your hand?" The muscular man chuckles like he was watching a clown doing some little tricks.

"Magic artifact needs significant spiritual energy to trigger its effect. Knowing that you're just a blood knight without any innates on magic, do you think you will succeed? Moreover, our artifact is just so-so. You're making me die in laughter" His laugh grew louder but it didn't last long when he felt something amiss above them.

The sky was initially covered with thick grey clouds but suddenly it became darker and darker until streaks of golden lightning danced over these clouds.

Currently, Kirsten who was just chanting a moment ago, froze in fear as he was suffocated with danger from above. He gazed into the dark clouds and he saw a bolt of golden dragon-like lightning gazing at him too. The pendant grew hotter and glowed with a red light.

"What heck is this? Is this for real? How unlucky am I to die like this?" Thinking that the pendant was the cause of his current predicament, anger and frustration swelled inside of him.

His whole life was flashed on his eyes like video playback and he saw how unlucky his life is. Pain, danger, and bad luck have accompanied him on his entire life yet his perseverance and willpower made him survive from time to time. He truly lives a hard life but he is not contented to die at a young age. His will to reach great power and wealth bloomed in his mind.

"I may die today but I will take my revenge. Soon I will break this heaven and rule my life as I wanted to be!" Kirsten shouted on top of his lungs yet the giant golden lightning struck and devoured him together with the whole forest and his enemies. The impact was so strong that the whole Kingdom felt the tremor and heard the explosion of the lightning strike.

On the peak of a mountain, a white pillar of light appeared and disappeared like a bolt of lightning. Then a 15-year old boy appeared in a metal half-armor suit. He has brown hair, azure eyes, and a toned body yet currently filled with bruises on his chest, bloody wounds all over the body, and a laceration on his side.

"Huh? I'm still alive. I survived! Wait, where am I?" the boy said while he was observing his surroundings? He was the same knight who used the pendant and struck by lightning.

'There's something wrong in this place. But I can't determine what it is.' Kirsten thought as he walks near the cliff. But he suddenly knelt down in weakness as he looked beyond. His curiosity turned into shock as he saw innumerable skyscrapers and flying ships over the sky.

"Well, I'm truly f*cked up this time. Just where the hell I am? Is that a city?" As he has no knowledge about how the pendant works nor what kind of magic it has, the idea of teleporting to another country popped up in his mind, and worst, to another unknown continent.

Kirsten shook his head to clear his mind. He knew that anxiety will not save him nor help him to survive. He decided to follow the trail down the mountain while looking for medicinal herbs along the way. He has a considerable amount of knowledge about traditional medicine which he learned throughout his life as a hired knight.

After a few hours of walking and recovering himself, Kirsten finally reached the foot of the mountain. Although he was far from the grand city he just saw, there are already some 5-story metal buildings and concrete pavements all around.

There are also some metal platforms that look like a fighting stage. On one of them, a pretty girl was silently standing with her eyes closed.

This girl has long black hair tied with green lace and pinkish fair skin. Her fitted black vest and skirt accentuates her sexy curves which catch every man's eyes.

While Kirsten fell in a slight trance, the girl slowly moved her hands and waved like she was weaving the air. Then her hair swayed and her clothes flutter as the wind flows like water around her.

But this event brought Kirsten back from the trance and he subconsciously raised his alertness to protect himself. He felt danger on those wind flows around the girl.

"Is she a witch? A sorceress?" Kirsten felt that the place he was in was far more dangerous than the place where he came from.

"Are you done looking at me? Pervert!" the girl opened and directed her green eyes towards Kirsten.

Kirsten was slightly in panic. He was about to explain himself when the girl suddenly disappeared and reappeared just a few centimeters on his face.

This sudden move makes Kirsten subconsciously push the girl up with both hands. The girl flustered as those hands were directed to her chest. In a sudden gush of anger and disgust, she slapped her hand full force and made a tremendous amount of wind force towards Kirsten.

Kirsten was blown away and rolled multiple times before stopping. He spat some blood and his wounds opened up.

"What a very unlucky day! Trouble is surely clinging at me too much! Damn!" Kirsten shouted in anger. He has badly injured before and now he has beaten up again. All he wanted was to inquire yet trouble always came.

"You deserved it for looking at me with your perverted eyes and trying to touch me. If you do not know, I'm Rena Celestia, daughter of Mayor Arnelous III of this B-12 sub-city." Rena said with her eyes full of rage. Although she attacks Kirsten with all her might, it doesn't mean she was satisfied yet.

"I don't care who you are but…" Kirsten paused for a moment as if he remembered something in his mind.

"Who are you again? How do you relate with King Casper Celestia of Celestine Kingdom?" Kirsten asked with anticipation and also with fear.

"How did know my ancestor name? Are you from a hidden family under my ancestor? This place was called the Celestine Kingdom in the past. Around 1000 years ago." Rena said while looking at Kirsten from top to bottom. She calmed down as she speculating who could be the boy in front of her.

"Ancestor? A thousand years ago? Heavens, I got traveled into the future!" Kirsten was now in tears. This sudden situation made him question his existence. Traveling to the future was beyond his wildest imagination.

Seeing Kirsten in a depressed state, Rena decided to wave her hand, and a green-colored wind flows towards Kirsten.

The green wind immediately covered Kirsten for some time then it disappeared completely. But the wounds, bruises, and laceration over the body of Kirsten were disappeared completely.

"Come with me and explain how you appeared in this restricted place. Luckily, you found me or else others will kill you on the spot." Rena said while walking away.

"Is this your called luck? I nearly died in your attack if I didn't recover myself before reaching this damned place of yours." Kirsten mocked but decided to not speak his thoughts out.

"Looks like I got no choice in here. Without a guide, I will get into greater trouble. I can't depend on my luck 'coz I don't have any of it." He decided to follow her and see what would this domineering lady is up to.
