" Sorry! There must have been a mix up! But what can we do? All of the designers already have a full set and we cannot force a designer to come up with an eighth design on such short notice. It would just be cruel."
The condescending look in her eyes and the fake sympathy in her voice almost drove Tryfon to violence, but once again he cooled off and choked out what he figured was an okay tone,
" Just give me back my money. After that I'll leave you and your stupid fashion show, like you wanted."
At the mention of the money, panic flashed through the staff's eyes and they began to stall which inspired even more suspicion and annoyance in Tryfon. He widened his eyes and glared down the lady he was speaking too, and his gaze slowly spread out to the rest of the group.
The lady finally came up with a way to stall time and all but yelled at him,
"Wait a few minutes please! I still have stuff to do with the others, i don't have time to process this right now!"
The others nodded in agreement and they all began to make themselves busy by doing other things. The staff continued to stall until finally an older and greasy looking man stepped forward and said,
" Sorry sir, but we don't do refunds here. We are just a small organization after all! How could we possible-"
" well that can't be right?"
Right before Tryfon was about to use whatever little strength he could muster to at least land a solid' hit in the old man's face a not so soft and girlish voice interrupted them.
" It never said that there were no refunds in any of the forms I signed, nor on the posters that you guys put out. There also wasn't anything on the website...This couldn't all be a giant scam could it! Using young people's dreams to make a quick buck then running away in the middle of the night? Oh my gosh! How hateful! I sh-should call the cops.,. Oh my gosh, my hundred dollars. I'm just a poor university student and i had to beg for so long to get my dad to let me do this.. He's never going to let me leave the house again if he finds out that i've been scammed!"
Her voice increased decibel by decibel until it had caught the attention of almost everyone in the park, and the faces of all of the employees were flushed with embarrassment. But that didn't stop her at all and she even began to sob, softly which contrasted sharply to her previous yells.
Tryfon turned back to look at the woman who had saved him from being arrested on charges of assault and was shocked to see that the same woman that had struck him as incredibly calm and mature earlier was now kicking up a fuss like a twelve year old little girl that couldn't get a concert ticket to her favorite boy band concert.
The surrounding members of the occasion began to crowd closer and closer to the stand, thinking that it might actually be a scam and were planning to take them to court. Of course there were some in the crowd who would have taken them to court either ways in the hopes of getting a few extra bucks out of it.
At this point the employees were filled with regret and nowhere to puke it out as they realized that their shady dealings would come to light and they would probably be fired by the next day.
It wasn't that they didn't want to return his money but that they had already divided it between themselves and had spent it all, thinking that he looked to weak to actually fight all of them for it. How could they have known that that busy body would butt her nose into it and cause a big scene.
The staff stayed silent as the crowd formed together but before they could demand for an answer one particularly business minded man got an idea and a way to fix it.
"Wait! It was a mistake, as we said before! You are still technically in the show, you just have not been assigned to a designer...but if the little miss over there was willing to add you to her repertoire then everything would be fixed wouldn't it?"
Everyone at the venue, including Tryfon, turned back to Cerin who still carried a frenzied look on her face but somehow, didn't look panicked at all at the suggestion. In fact a small satisfied smile played on her lips as she took in the scene that was playing out in front of her.
'So they want to push him onto me...the money is probably long gone then.'
Tryfon wasn't an idiot either and quickly realized this and for a second was tempted, after all his goal wasn't even to win the show. He just wanted to get himself on tv so he could say what he wanted to say but he couldn't let himself wreck the chances of the girl, who looked even younger than him, over a hundred dollars.
With a bitter tone, Tryfon decided to speak up and say it was okay.
" Never mi-"
But was cut off by Cerin who still carried the same distraught expression as earlier.
" That's-Fine-*Hic*- if- It-*hic*-means-that-*hic*-He-can-*hic*-still-part-*hic*-icipate. I-*hic*-don't mind"
And with that it was settled and Tryfon officially joined Cerin's group.
