Chapter 3 - Skills and Talents

[Ju Han*]

[Divine Restoration Soul - Lowest Grade Talent]

[Collective Mind - Talent]

It was very simple and complex, everyone was engrossed in checking out their own body.

Ju Han's name was made on the spot, or was that his real name? Not even he knows of the situation.

He slowly reached his hand to touch the display in front of them, but his hand passed on through. The display was only seen within his mind.

Ju Han heavily stressed his thoughts on his skill, he wanted to know what type of talent he was given. With his top notch deduction skills, it must definitely do with healing or something of that sort.

It seems prior of game knowledge was stuck in his head, which might help him piece back the life he had beforehand, like he didn't care at all. Ju Han had little attachments to his past, if one clung on the past too much, they would never be prepared for the present or future.

But the thought of knowing what type of person the man was a good step. Though clinging to the past is a burden on itself, improving yourself using your past as a stepping stone was the best idea, he wanted to know his past but not to such extents to die for it.

His mind goes through and he pulled on descriptions of the two skills he had somehow acquired, one of them was given to him by the 'supreme being' while the other was what Ju Han acquired beforehand.

He was on the right track, as the talent began expanding from the list and text was also.

[Divine Restoration Soul]

[Grade - Lowest]

[Talent - Frame]

[Necessary talent necessary to interpret divine laws and faiths. Provides power to give bountiful salvation of divine power to allies or one's self]

The description was made by the system to explain it in much simpler terms, one could go into much details when explaining things.

[Collective Mind]

[Talent - Innate]

[All mental abilities will have reduced or no effect over the user dependent on the power of the ability used. Can be toggled on or off]

'Maybe this was the reason why I was so calm.'

He thought as he was neither sad or mad about his death.

"Woah, what are these!"

A strong opposing force swooped over them and displayed upon them some knowledge on how to use the system proposed by the database on Earth.

Lu Tong immediately appeared before a tutorial was made for them to use its functions.

The party system allowed one to perceive limited groups as parties and allows one to see other party member's status. Trust is stressed showing their own status to other people, Lu Tong just so happened to trust all of them at the very moment as all his information appeared.

[Lu Tong]

"Cool! I get to use swords and stuff?" He couldn't contain his excitement, wasn't this like becoming a main character in those xianxia novels?

Lu Tong had no talents beforehand and was always on the average grade mark in his universities. Having such an opportunity for him to show some talent was a great thing.

[Sword Tempering Soul]

[Grade - Lowest

[Talent - Frame]

[Ability to cultivate one's body as a sword, infusing one's conscious as sharp as a blade as a domineering presence]

Grasping the other university student and jumped around, he smiled nervously at the over-excited man.

The next was the man Lu Tong was currently cradling, Xiao Long.

[Xiao Long]

[Thousand Spear Scripture - Lowest Grade Talent]

[Physical Body - Lvl 1]

This was the first time other than himself that had another talent under his belt.

Ju Han did the same as he did when observing the talents of his comrade.

[Thousand Spear Scripture]

[Grade - Lowest]

[Talent - Frame]

[Ability to copy spear techniques one could comprehend and fuse them into one technique.]

[Current Spear Technique(s) - Dragon Stance(U)]

The display was much more diverse than Lu Tong's, which bummed him being the unique main character.

Second was actually much more easily attainable.

[Physical Body]

[Learnt]

[Skill - Enhancement]

[Level - 1]

[Gained from light temperance of the body and daily training. Body capabilities are increased slightly]

So when you train your body continuously close to birth, one would acquire this skill.

But Xiao Long was more astonished.

"My body is only level 1? What would other people with higher levels have to endure?"

He shivered at the mere thought of taking anymore than necessary when he took up the spear on his own request.

"Who else?"

"I'll guess its my turn."

Ju Han showed trust in his new teammates but the trust was gain from their aspirations.

"Woah!! What's a Divine Restoration Soul?"

Everyone was clueless on his talents. This was the first talent they saw that was different than the first two people and it was about healing, how absurd.

"It states that I'm able to learn skills that could help us, a healer most likely. You can check by the thought of wanting to analyze the skill."

"Cool! Keep us in top condition, you're just like the pope!"

"Hehe, lets not get that far."

Next was Wan Lie, at first he kept quiet and denied showing his levels. but after changing his mind abruptly it appeared after being promised 50 RMB that was sitting in the back of Lu Tong's wallet.

To think one would blindly trust a measly 50 RMB, or 7 dollars.

[Wan Lie]

Lu Tong was becoming even more depressed with the one with only one talent.

[Berserker's Fury]

[Grade - Lowest]

[Talent - Frame]

[Berserkers are usually depicted by norse mythology as warriors who fought in rage and slaughter thousands of foes. To achieve such will was to grasp the mentality of a berserker with only carnage in one's mind, generally stubborn and iron willed to confront any obstacles]

Wan Lie was infuriated, maybe it was his Berserker's Fury acting up.

"Oi, are they calling me dumb!?"

Everyone couldn't help but chuckle from the rant of the large uncle.

There was no need to explain what Physical Body was at the moment.

Yue Ying was the most timid and shy, but after encouragement to knowing each other's skill, they could develop strategies to help fare against their mission.

[Yue Ying]

[Mental Fortitude - Lvl 1]

[Hawk's Eye - Lowest Grade Talent]

[Mental Fortitude]

[Learnt]

[Skill - Resistance]

[Level 1]

[Skill acquired from powerful strains of thoughts. Increases resistances slightly when defending against illusions and mental abilities]

[Hawk's Eye]

[Grade - Lowest]

[Talent - Frame]

[One's perspective can be alter to observe much more closely. Derived from the servant of deities as judges who watch the lands of the world.]

The Mental Fortitude was understandable as getting into the most prestigious university was a feat midst itself.

Her Hawk's Eye however was much more unique, for a skill to be derived from watching above and to top off was that she wore glasses, her vision was already obscured.

"Such a cool ability, so you can see anything in the area around you? How many fingers am I holding behind my back!"

Everyone couldn't handle his remarks, his over-joyous behavior was getting out of hand when they were exploring into the unknown.

The group wanted to explore deeper into the interface but the clock the child once sat on was thundering with its large chimes.

[Five minutes left of your preparation phase]

Ju Han and the rest knew what that meant and they were prepared to leave.

"Are you guys ready?"

"I'm not sure hehe."

"Stand behind me if you're too scared, I'll protect all of you."

He covered his nose with a finger and looked up so nobody could see his obviously embarrassed face, Wan Lie was always seen as an average gangster but that didn't really effect his mentality.

"Sure, let's go!"

The rift enticed them to enter the mysterious space, its spasms were uncontrolled and rhythmic.

All started entering one by one, with Ju Han being last, keeping the healer in the back was reminiscent in old RPGs, put into practice in real life.

They were engulfed in the strange dark area, but it felt awfully familiar, as if eating in one's home, with no worries as from the protection of their abodes.
