Chapter 86 - Out Of Sync

** Guards Point Of View **

[ My master is always giving me such troublesome tasks. ]

I crossed my arms in front of myself as I watched the fiasco that was Akiyo Yuki.

[ This boy is supposed to be a general in future? ]

The boy in front of me is sheepish and cowardly, I even had to babysit him after he chucked a temper tantrum after the Tama princess insulted him.

[ Is he truly unable to deal with women? ]

What valor? What command aura?

Future general my foot!

I looked Yuki up and down as he walked out after changing. His outfit would leave a strong impression it was made of fine material but it wasn't gaudy. Yuki's jawline was strong and chiseled his frame was slim but muscular.

His wild red hair was tamed with a braid on the side of his head as the rest was forced over to the other side. He had pointed eyebrows which made him look aggressive along with his naturally coal lined phoenix eyes but his temperament was the exact opposite.

This boy who was supposed to rule over thousands of soldiers was apologizing to his guards and maid for troubling them. If this information were to get out to General Huey, Tama would become a laughing stock.

I sighed thinking about my future as I imagined Yuki on a battlefield riding a strong steed and trying to coordinate troops. I had to quietly bite my tongue to avoid laughing as I looked down at the hand he had grabbed in the bamboo forest.

[ He was very gentle at least I do not have to worry about Vance losing in the future ]

I clenched my fist into a ball and looked over.

There was a young man with long black hair and tight black leather clothes. I could only assume that it was one Yuki's guards.

He stared right at me as if he could see through me and it made me shiver before he smiled and nodded..

[ At least his men are capable. ]

I nodded back and looked at the guard who had albinism with red eyes and white hair who was fussing over Yuki as if he was his son.

[ Just what is this nonsense? ]

The more I saw them all interact the more confused I was.

There seemed to be no power structure at all. Even the Tama royals were talking to the guards earlier as if they were friends rather then Yuki's subordinates.

I felt like I had stepped into a madhouse.

There was a knock on the door and the princess who had been crying earlier had finally come back.

She was very pretty, long black hair, pale skin and white teeth. She was wearing a pale pink dress with very minimal accessories in her hair. Her face was without a shred of makeup but honestly she didn't need it.

I remembered my place and looked away as her brothers had come in after her.

" You look nice" Yuki said to Princess Rosli.

" You.. um too" The Princess responded with a blush.

[ Are they really engaged? ]

Akiyo Yuki had more of an awkward reaction talking to me then he did with his own fiancee. I noticed his reaction was not at all like it was when I handed him my cloak to be polite.

[ What a strange boy. ]

" Ready to go? " Yuki said flatly as he walked over and held out his arm for the princess to grab.

" Ready!!!" The princess said excitedly without formality.

[ Does she even remember that she is a royal?! ]

How does not one in the room remember their places in society!? The more I thought about how everyone was behaving the more frustrated I had become. I live a very well maintained and structure life.

This was all throwing me off balance. I get up, work, eat, train and sleep all at the same time everyday. Even the books I read for training are all ordered alphabetically. My room is symmetrical and I can't stand anything slightly that puts it out of balance.

Last time when Prince Romeo left his mug on my table I spent several hours rearranging my suite. My mind wandered to every situation that I had been in that had made me uncomfortable and then one struck me like lightning.

[ Oh.. I remember now! ]

I had seen this boy before. It was when we were stuck in a town and Prince Romeo was taking Rinny for a walk when the carriage wheel broke. That suspicious looking kid was him wasn't it. I thought he was there to assassinate Romeo so I had looked long and hard at him. It is not like he would have known I was there that day, I was wearing a helmet after all.

[ They couldn't be the same person right? ]

I watched as the second prince too out a sketchbook and captured the scene of the princess and Yuki together before Yuki and the Princess of Tama said their goodbyes and walked up to me asking to lead the way.

The red Kithun that I could only assume was some sort of pet jumped on Yuki's shoulder as we left into the hallway.

I looked out of the window and used the distance of the moon from the horizon to gauge the time. It looked like we would not be late and I would not be punished. I felt myself calm down a little as this whole experience had left my brain rather foggy.

I looked forward to my routine returning to normal after this mission was finished.

The princess was talking at Yuki as if she had not seen him in years. I heard question after question rattled off by her as if Yuki was escorting her to a new country while he did his best to respond.

I realized as we continued to Crown Prince Romeos suit that Rosli would most likely embarrass her self in front of Rinny and Wen Wen and tried not to feel sorry for her. She was the enemy until recently after all.

Rinny cling to Romeo as if they were attached by the skin but she was smart and tactful especially in giving Romeo advice and holy maiden Wen Wen was not only general Huey's granddaughter but she was very masterful with the whip and had incredible healing magic.

[ How could Tama's princess even stand equally next to such phoenix's ? ]

I did my best to put my mission first and ignore the madness that was happening behind me. I even increased my pace a little so we could get back faster and before I knew it we had finally reached Prince Romeo's room and my path of freedom.

I knocked on the door before Crown Prince Romeo's voice was heard.

" Come in" He said flatly with a royal tone.

[ mm as it should be ]

I couldn't help by compare Leopold to Romeo as I entered and announced Yuki and the princess.

" You have done well, now leave and prepare for tomorrow" Romeo said as he waved his hand dismissing me.

I went down on one knee and double saluted before I went to exit.

" Thank you for your help" I heard Yuki Akiyo say as I was leaving.

He was looking at me, I guess he was thanking me?

[ Strange ]

I looked at Yuki the man who was was supposed to be a grand and mighty general when he was older.

[He is a wuss, easily gets cold, Is terrible with women, treats his subordinates like friends and thanks enemy soldiers ]

[Knowing how vicious and amazing his grandfather and father are and looking at him… in a lot of ways I am disappointed but maybe… just maybe he isn't such a bad guy.]

[ Who am I kidding? What a pain in the neck! ]

I shook my head once and left out of the door before going next door and entering my own room.

It is simple in design.

I looked at my books which were perfectly stacked, then at my bed which was neatly made and walked to my desk which had items in perfect symmetry and sat down.

I clipped my blue cape folded it three times before I undid my amour in the exact pattern I normally do and placed it in my neatly arranged closet.

I took off my shirt and pants before changing into my sleep wear and laid down on my bed. I looked over at the blue cloak on my desk.

[ Tonight has been very..very long ]

I counted the stones that made up the walls to calm myself down as my eyelids had became heavy.

I dreamed that night of a Kithun running around my room causing chaos while a certain red headed aristocrat laughed.
