Chapter 2 - The Smells of Medications are Always Suffocating

A man can be seen sitting down what appears to be a white padded cell. He is currently restraint in a straitjacket while humming a song in a brightly lit cell. In front of him is a mirror, a two-way mirror for doctors or orderlies to keep an eye on him. On the other side of the mirror there there are 3 orderlies, a doctor and a man in a blue suit.

"Any changes Doctor Richmond?"

The man stands in front of the mirror slight reflecting his face while solemnly gazing at the man on the floor. The man appears to be in his late 50s while the doctor next to him is in his late 40s, a short man wearing glasses and a typical doctor's coat. He also suffering from balding probably due to stress.

"No Director Law, so far he's not showing sign of change during treatment and sir...he's getting more and more erratic."

Director Law turns to the doctor who looks uncomfortable looking at the man.

"How did he end up there Doctor Richmond?"

Director Law then walks towards a chair and sits while drinking his cup of tea. The doctor then walks towards a table where the orderly was sitting and he gave the doctor a file.

"Umm, at 3.30p.m. in room 317, patient named Arthur Winchester was receiving his medication from two orderlies while restrained. He was first injected with anesthesia in order to calm him due to his past aggression with both orderlies and doctors, he seems to hate the medication he's receiving and quote by the patient 'It doesn't do jack shit and a huge waste of time so just leave me alone.' end quote."

Director Law is scratching his chin while contemplating on something causing the doctor to stop talking. Director Law stares at him.

"Continue."

The doctor standing there continue reading the file's report.

"Right, umm, after he was injected with anesthesia the orderlies then proceed to administer his medication but unfortunately it went wrong. while lying on his bead restrain the patient broke his right wrist then immediately grab the orderly's pen while he was administering his medication. The patient then proceed to stab the orderly's neck and tried to be free from his restraint. The other orderly that was present saw the situation and quickly jumped on the patient to restrain him. But like previous cases, the patient showed overwhelming strength that's not a norm for an average man."

The doctor pause and looks at Arthur sitting on the floor humming.

"What the matter doctor? I didn't tell you to stop."

The doctor turns towards him and looks tired and overcome with stress.

"Sir this..this padded cell is not like other cells, it's as if it was designed to contain him."

The director who is still drinking his tea smirk.

"You're right about that doctor, usually with don't show sign of favoritism in this institute but we can come to an agreement that Mr.Winchester is a special case."

The doctor nods at his words and continue reading out the report.

"While the orderly that was struggling to restraint Arthur was overcome by him the orderly on the floor was bleeding out due to his wound. Quote from the orderly 'he did it without hesitation and coldness in his eyes..he...he's a monster. He not human.' end quote. The patient managed to be free from his restraint and grab a metal tray that was on the table hitting the orderly in the head knocking him unconscious. Soon a few minutes after that the other orderlies rush into the room to restrain him."

Director Law stands up and walks towards the two-way mirror.

"And the orderly did he survive his wound."

The doctor's expression was that of sadness.

"He..he didn't make it, he succumb to his wound's eventually as we couldn't to the bleeding on time. Which is why we contacted you at this late hours sir to inform you of the situation. Due to his eidetic memory he was able to recall where to stab from reading the medical books we gave to him in order to calm him down."

"Ah yes, I forgot about that, I recalled reading from the report that the man is quite intelligent for his age even as child, he was somewhat called a prodigy. How unfortunate that he ended up here. Oh what other books you gave to him to read."

The doctors looks restless and said the following.

"The usually books from the library. Science, biology, medical, psychology and society and for some reason he made a strange requests to buy survival books, light novels to read and anime to kill time."

The director then holds his chin while looking grim.

" Huh, well that it's nice that he has a hobby at the very least but if what you say its true and he read all those books, then that man in there is by far the most dangerous one we have in this institute. And considering his past crime before he was admitted here just show how special he really is. How old is he again?"

"23 sir."

The director then walks towards the door as he is about to leave. The doctor follows suit and inform the orderly to keep a close eye on him. The orderly nods and they left the room.

Meanwhile inside the padded cell. Arthur is humming while his long and disheveled hair covers his eyes. Inside his cell was pure silence to a point he can hear his heartbeat from time to time. Then something strange happen inside the padded cell.

*Lights flickering*

The orderly that was on the side watching him was reading a magazine when the lights starts to flicker, he immediately stands up to check on Arthur to make sure he's not doing anything funny. The orderly heard rumors about him, that he's not human but some kind of monster. He also heard that before coming here he killed both his parents for no reason whatsoever.

"Huh..must been a faulty wire or something."

The orderly then proceed to sit and continue his magazine, but as he sat, there's a man standing behind him, a faceless man in a black suit with a sinister grin. He smile while looking at the orderly from behind.

Arthur continues to hum while the light's flickers and all of a sudden a loud thud can be heard in front him

*Thud Thud Thud*

The mirror in front of him shakes with each thud as if someone was hitting it. Arthur stands up and walks towards the mirror while humming. Then immediately as he got close.

*Smash, Sounds of broken glass*

A man head went trough the mirror, shards of glass stab the man's head. Arthur walks towards him an recognized the uniform. He's an orderly that works here in this institute, Arthur bend slightly to get a closer look at him, he wanted to check if he's still alive but to the straitjacket he can barely do much.

As he got closer, the orderly jumped and breathes heavily. He was in so much pain that tears starts to stream down his cheek.

"He-Help me ple-"

Then in the cover of darkness a hand appear behind the orderly and grabbed the man's hair pulling him back into the darkness.

"NO! NO PLEASE NO!! SOME-SOMEONE HELP ME!"

Arthur stood there as he saw the man drag into the darkness, he can hear bones breaking during the orderly pleading for help. And soon and once more the room was silent.

Arthur walks towards the hole where the orderly head went through to try and see if he's alright which he doubt. He looks through the hole but couldn't see anything.

*Lights starts to flicker*

Arthur looks at mirror's reflection and sees a tall faceless man with a monstrous smile in a black suit. He turns towards him casually, for Arthur believe his time is finally up. He knows at the very least he can put up a fight but what's point, in his situation running towards an enemy without knowing what he can do is usually suicidal. Plus he doesn't feel any killing intent from him.

"Likewise, now what can I do for you Mr..."

"There's no point in panicking now is it? I still have my legs so if you try anything I'll be sure to stomp your head before I die."

Solomon stands there in shocked and eventually resume grinning and chuckled lightly.

Arthur felt confused by his words.

"Worlds...?"

The two men standing inside the padded cell looks at each other before vanishing from the room.
