The voice of a woman screaming in pain can be heard inside the room. They have been inside the delivery room for almost 5 hours. After the last push, the last of the twins was finally delivered. Sighs of relief and tears of joy flooded the room.
Cindy woke up after a whole day of sleeping. The first thing she saw was her parents and husband looking at her worriedly. She smiled at them weakly.
"W-water."
Her throat felt dry and her body felt sore. She saw her husband frantically reaching for the jug of water at the bedside table and pours her a glass. He then proceeded to put a straw in the glass as he assisted her head for a drink. After feeling relief from the water,
"Where's our babies? Flinn, how are they?" Cindy asked worriedly.
Her husband smiled lovingly and kissed her forehead.
"I'm right here. You don't need to worry too much. I'll protect them."
"Don't worry too much. They're both fine. Our princesses are strong just like you. You need to rest first yourself before you can see them." Her mother added while smiling at her.
After hearing her parents' and husband's words, she fell back asleep.
Flinn heard his wife's shallow breathing, after assuring that she's fast asleep, he looked at his in-laws.
"Mother, Father, I need to get back to the twins. Please watch Cindy for me."
"Don't worry about Cin. We'll take care of her."

Inside the NICU[1].
The man looked worriedly at two of his daughters. How he wished he could transfer their suffering onto himself. The twins were born prematurely and were very weak. They both have similar facial features except for their distinct moles. The smaller one has a mole on her right shoulder that looks like a small sun. The other one has a mole on her left shoulder that looks like a crescent moon. They were both born healthy except for their hearts. Both their hearts are a little smaller than others but it will not bother them much to live normal lives. They still can't breathe on their own so they have nasal cannula[2].
He leaned a bit closer to them, closed his eyes while whispering,
"My little princesses, both of you are Mommy and Daddy's angels. I know you will get through this."
Although he knew that they were both still weak, he knew in his heart that they will survive and grow up healthily. His eyes were filled with determination despite his worry. He made a vow to himself to do and give his all for both his daughters and his wife.
