Chapter 2 - Cute Bunny

After she placed her brother securely on the bed, Gu Hua took a good look at him.

The little one was sleeping soundly and his peaceful expression calmed her heart.

He looked like a cute bunny to her.

She thought that this little bundle of joy was too cute to resist.

"Little dumpling, have a nice beauty sleep."

Gu Hua lightly kissed his cheeks and slowly shifted his body to the side.

She looked at his frail arms and bony cheeks and a frown marred her features.

She wondered why both of their bodies were malnourished and decided that she should feed him well.

After that, she decided to go out and take a look at her surroundings.

It was a small courtyard; there were three little brick huts.

The yard was clean—without any flowers or greenery planted to give it an aesthetic look. There were only a few wildflowers that swayed along with the wind at the corner of the wall.

This was the place where the original Gu Hua and her brother stayed.

It was located at the very corner of the General's residence.

It looked like a servant's quarter, but in fact, a servant's room would have better furnishings and environment than this.

The sun had risen and a few streaks of sunlight shined through the window frames.

They illuminated the dark inner room.

Gu Hua sat in front of the dressing table and took a look at her frail and underfed body.

One had to say that this Gu Hua was indeed beautiful and her beauty could overthrow cities and ruin states.

If it wasn't for the fact that this body was weak and malnourished, she would have been quite sought after.

Sadly, her body was something that was thought of as 'poor quality' because she couldn't cultivate.

On this continent, where Martial Arts are respected, a person who couldn't cultivate was known as a good for nothing waste or trash.

It's not that this body's original owner never tried cultivating before.

But every time she would try to absorb the surrounding energy, the body would start to feel a stinging pain and cold sweat would break out.

So she could only give up, even though she wasn't reconciled to the fact that she was useless.

The only good thing in this sad debacle was that Levy had deeply studied many cultivation techniques in her last life.

It looked like those laborious hours spent studying those techniques would come in handy in this second life that she had been granted.
