Chapter 111 - A Child's Strength (1)

His head bulged in pain as he stared off into the distance in deep thought. A black fog crept up behind him as the smoke engulfed the entire room. It only lasted a few seconds before it disappeared. Quijie blinked his eyes a few times then looked around in a daze. "Why was I in deep thought?" he scratched his head then resumed reading his papyrus.

Shi Rong stopped halfway into the portal as she slowly began to regain her composure. She then turned around and faced the approaching group. A gentle smile appeared on her face as she addressed them. She extended her arms towards Mo Yu. "Mo Yu my lovely child come to mother!"

Mo Yu turned his head to the side in a confused manner. A sense of unease filled his heart causing him to speak in a cold and emotionless voice. "Mother I really wish you would stop trying to hide your emotions and using fake happiness to hide your unease by asking for a hug from Mo Yu!"

Shi Rongs brow arched slightly as a frown threatened to crawl upon her face. Could Mo Yu have caught on to my unease and strong sense of fear?

When Shi Rong heard his rely she felt a painful tug on her heart. She stared down at the ground and bit her lips.

Ling Yiyao glanced at the young girl with a warm expression, he reached out his hands letting his black robes stretch and cascade as he pulled her into his embrace.

She raised her eyes slightly to look at his chest as his warm breath tickled her forehead. Ling Yiyao spoke softly. "Rong'er there is no need for your heart to feel a sense of unease instead fill it with the love from Mo Yu and I."

Shi Rong felt another tug at her heart. her face flushed a faint pink color as she buried her head into his sleeves and gently closed her eyes. Her heart swelled with warmth and comfort as she sat in his arms causing all her ill feelings to fade.

She opened her eyes slightly to see a long tan tail glide past a tree in the far away distance.

She jumped from his arms and stared into the direction of the figure. Xiandi turned to his to follow his field of vision.

A giant spider around the size of a giant oak tree walked through the forest in the distance. Its large tan body set high with the help of its giant brown hair legs as its eyes circled across the forest scanning the area for a meal. Its long tail swung loosely from its back as it walked. Its fangs wiggled with every step.

Mo Yu jumped in excitement upon seeing the giant creature. "Mother that creature it's incredibly deadly but its blood can be used for cultivation. Even though it's poisonous if injected I'm sure that by you being so smart to you mix it or fuse it into medicine or daily meal supplements." He clapped his hands as he jumped. "Mother can I help you kill such a creature!"
