"Right now!" After seeing all the vines focus their attacks on those rabbits, Lucas immediately rushes forward.
'Foolish!' The captain hissed as his eye coldly followed Lucas body.
Lucas made a dash towards the plant... No, he ran past the plant, towards a rabbit that is currently panting heavily. The rabbit has been dodging those attacks continuously for a good ten minutes, he's totally exhausted and cannot squeeze out any more energy to dodge the final attack. He watches the incoming vine with helpless eyes, tears slowly flow out of his eyes. 'Goodbye, my brother and sisters.'
"Go out of my way!" a loud voice snaps him out of his daze before he saw a white figure came crushing into him. The spot where he stood previously is now occupied by a man who opens his hands wide open, eager to block the incoming attack. 'My king... You... You don't have to die for this lowly one...'
'Hmm... It's about time now, every time the plant attacks it gets slower and it went to pierce someone to drink its blood to regain its speed. It was aimed at the most helpless ones, now then, it should be this guy. Come! Come and drink my blood!' Lucas took his stand and closed his eyes.
*Pochi* Lucas was stab again. 'IT STILLS HURTS LIKE HELL!!! It's better than the first time I guess, the pain endurance is doing its job...' Lucas slowly loses consciousness again.
"MY KING!" All the rabbits present are shocked at how their king throw himself forward to save a soldier. For a moment, time seems to freeze. Every rabbit present is hopeless now... Their king, strong enough to kill the previous king, is now dead. They have no hope of defending the nest now.
As they were giving up hope, none of them notice that the blood red crystal is slowly turning black, losing its previous shine. All the vines also slowed down, slowly turning into powdery charcoal and stop moving. It's so fragile now that a gentle blow can turn those vines into dust like they never existed.
While mourning for their king's death, one of the rabbits look up and saw an amazing scene. Over there stood a dead, charcoal-black plant. *Whoosh* A sudden burst of wind came by and scatter the powder. It took some time for the powder to sink to the ground and expose a mummified figure buried deep down. "Captain! Look!"
