Chapter 3 - Chapter Three: Preparing For Lyra's 5th Birthday

"I don't know all the details yet." The Duke was also suspicious of them but he doesn't have any ideas yet. They're one of the strongest kingdoms, what would they benefit from this? Unless they want a marriage alliance between the two empires but that's highly unlikely.

The top three kingdoms aren't really close to each other. Some might say all three of them are on bad terms. That's why when the crown prince revolted against the kingdom, the two other kingdoms didn't stop him. But Lyra still thought it was suspicious, at that time, the three kingdoms were negotiating a peace treaty. It was almost finalized but then the crown prince got involved. Why didn't the other two kingdoms try to help them since they were going to benefit from this treaty?

The Ischyrós Kingdom not helping them is somewhat understandable since they're the strongest and they don't really care about a peace treaty but the Fotiá Kingdom was on the same level as the Avgí Kingdom, which was them. If the peace treaty went through then both the Fotiá and the Avgí Kingdom would benefit a lot from this.

"Let's stop thinking about the Fotiá Kingdom for now! We should prepare for Lyra's birthday first!" Violet said causing all their thoughts to stray away from the Fotiá Kingdom.

"Mh, you're right." Oliver nodded in agreement.

Lyra's birthday party was coming up in about 2 days. During this celebration, she will meet the crown prince for the first time.

"Don't worry, leave all of the planning to mother and me!" Violet said excitedly.

"Hehe, okay." Lyra didn't mind leaving it up to her sister since she knew that her sister has been planning this for about a month.

--------------

Today was the day of Lyra's 5th birthday. When she first woke up, she heard maids running around franticly. "What's happening?" She yawned.

"They're preparing for Miss's 5th birthday."

Lyra just nodded her head since she was too tired to speak. "We should get prepare now Miss or you'll be late for your own birthday!" The nanny was more excited about Lyra's birthday than Lyra herself. But Lyra was still too sleepy to get out of bed. "A bit more, please."The nanny would usually agree to her requests but not today. "No, Miss. It's your 5th birthday today! We must make you the most beautiful lady in all of the kingdoms. Even though you're the most beautiful lady in my eyes already." The last part, the nanny said in a whisper.

All of the people working in the Duke's Household adore Lyra to no end. The siblings before were a hassle to take care of that all the servants got tired babysitting them, but Lyra was different, she was like an angel descending on them. They were so happy that their Miss wasn't like the other two siblings. Oliver was so scary as a kid that even the servants got scared of him while Violet was too playful which made the servants all tired.

When Lyra was born, they thought that they were going to suffer once again. But they thought wrong, they soon came to realize that their Miss Lyra was an angel.

"But I'm still tired." Lyra was still half asleep.

As the nanny was about to say something, Violet and the Duchess rush into her room. "We must prepare for your birthday!" Violet's excitement couldn't be hidden, it was on her face. But Lyra was still sleepy. "A bit more."

"No! We must prepare for your 5th birthday! The royal family will be there!" At the mention of the royal family, Lyra became wide awake.

"Good, you're awake, we shall prepare right away!" Violet dragged Lyra to the bathroom to get her ready. They soon came out of the bathroom.

The maids got right into drying Lyra's hair. After they were done, they made sure that her hair was straight and no knots were found. After that, Violet asked Lyra what hairstyle she wanted, Lyra didn't know the difference between different hairstyles since the maids did all the work in her past and present life so she just said anything. Violet knew what her sister wanted, something simple.

"Do the fairytale braid for her."

"Yes, Miss."

After the maid finished styling Lyra's hair, Violet and the Duchess dragged Lyra into the living room. "Look at Lyra!"

Oliver and the Duke were in the room discussing Lyra's birthday. When they looked over in the direction the voice was coming from, they were shocked. Their Lyra was too beautiful! "Quite cute indeed." The Duke said.

Oliver nodded, agreeing to his father's words.

"We have no time to waste! We must prepare for Lyra's dress! Where's her dress, mother?" Violet was too excited that she forgot about the dress.

"It's coming. Is Lyra hungry?"

Lyra nodded her head. Getting dragged around without eating anything is quite exhausting. "Ah, sorry Lyra. I was too excited." Violet said.

"It's okay." Lyra didn't really mind. She was happy to see Violet all energized. In her past life, when the prince revolted and threw their family into jail, Violet lost all of her happiness.

"I'm just happy seeing you happy." Lyra hugged Violet as she said that.

"Our Lyra is too sweet," Violet said aloud. The family and the servants just nodded, all agreeing with her.

'Ah, I can see why I was so arrogant in my past life.' Lyra thought to herself.

"Let's go eat then I'll change into my dress then we can go."

------------------

After the family was done eating, the dress arrived in perfect timing.

"Let's go change you into this dress." The Duchess said.

Lyra just nodded.

After Lyra was done changing into the dress, she came out of the dressing room looking like a fairy.

"Wow! Our Miss is so beautiful!"

"She looks like a fairy!"

All the servants were admiring Lyra's beautiful looks. Lyra could feel herself getting shy from all the staring, she ran into her father's arm.

"Let's go now," Lyra said. The servants and her family could see that she was shy from all the staring, they couldn't help but think about her cuteness.

"Haha, okay." The Duke was quite happy that Lyra chose to run into his arms.

'Even though I'm not mentally a child, being stared at is still embarrassing.'
