Chereads / Am I The MC? / Chapter 65 - Brotherhood

Chapter 65 - Brotherhood

They had finally come back together. It was a joyous moment for both of them and one that was unexpected for them, as they did not expect themselves to get so emotional and hug.

Neither of them had any siblings growing up, so their relationship was something that each of them cherished, even if they did not realise it at first.

They were brothers now.

Raikou smiled and patted Ghost's shoulders. "There's a crazy strong man at the academy I am in right now, and he has an eye on me. He wants the darkness element I absorbed in the dimension."

"Is he crazy strong or strong and crazy?"

"I would say both."

"And what about the dimension, what is that exactly?" Ghost was full of questions.

"It's a long story, I will tell you later." Raikou replied.

Ghost looked at Raikou properly for the first time and he could see a faint light above his shoulders. The light slowly came into focus and he saw two oddly dressed babies sitting on them.

He screamed and pointed at Raikou's shoulders, "What the fuck is that?"

Raikou laughed, "These? It's the system. It has evolved." Ghost was going to ask more questions, but Raikou interrupted him, "Same as before, It's a long story. I will tell you all of it later."

He nodded and they began walking towards the adventurer guild.

"The strong guy may want to harm me. I am going to take some simple missions and kill loads of things! Let's get strong!" he shouted.

Walking in, he went to the quest board and looked at the options.

Most of them were escort missions and missions requiring the adventurer to locate something. He ignored all of them and moved towards the quests involving killing.

After going through them, he picked 3 missions that were suitable for his current requirements.

Quest: Collect the pelt of 50 golden Asiatic Lions.

Reward: Broken Armament

He picked this one, as Domyo advised him that the system could possibly make use of an armament, even if it was broken. Someone wouldn't offer a low grade broken armament for a quest that required the killing of rank 4 beasts, so it would be worth his while.

Quest: Kill the Ruddiger bandit group. Warning: Leader of group has reportedly half-step rank 6 strength.

Reward: Honorary Baron title.

It was interesting to get a nobility title, which brought Raikou's interest onto this. This must've been issued by a member of the royal family. Someone with strength high enough to decimate that group wouldn't be interested in a low level nobility title, so this quest hadn't yet been completed.

Quest: Obtain the rare amethyst chrysanthemum leaf from Ruddiger Pass

Reward: Earth-Ranked Armament

This was an obvious option, as an earth rank armament is extremely rare. The spatial pendant he acquired previously saved Ghost's life, so they have good uses. The difficult must be high, as no one had completed it as of now.

Happy with his choices, he accepted them and left the guild.

The golden Asiatic Lions were also found within the Ruddiger pass, which made it highly convenient for him and they set off in that direction. It wasn't far from the city, but it wasn't close either.

"Mini timeskip. No one wants to read about me travelling..." Raikou announced and went on his way.

Ghost smiled. It had been a while since he had heard such nonsensical words.

It had taken them a day to reach there while running non stop. Ghost gave the idea of running for extended periods of time instead of getting a carriage. He said he grown accustomed to it and wanted Raikou to experience it too.

He was not happy about it, "What is the point of running? We could have just got ourselves a carriage and relax." He grumbled to himself.

The lions were his first step, as he wanted to increase his level before confronting the bandits. The strength of their leader was said to be half step, but he couldn't completely rely on information he had not seen first hand and wanted to be stronger just in case.

In the distance, they heard an ear piercing roar.

Raikou looked in the direction of the sound, "Well, at least we know which direction to go in." He smirked and pulled his sword out.

+50,000xp +50,000xp +50,000... A string of notifications came in as he slaughtered the pride of lions.

It was a simple task to massacre rank 4 beasts, even if it did leave a bad taste in his mouth. He had collectively acquired over 1million xp, but the limit for rank 3 had been reached, so anymore killing wouldn't have benefited him. With enough pelts, he set off to kill the bandits.

Their base wasn't hidden and everyone in the loop knew of its location. It displayed how arrogant they were and the confidence they had in their leader's abilities.

(A/N: This won't just be another level boosting situation. It is a set up for something new I have planned ;)

Stay tuned!
