"Hey kids, don't wonder around here too much! It's just a rumour but a huge creature had been spotted wandering about so be sure to not stay out for too long!" said an old man to few kids who were playing hide and seek around the village area. The kids nodded their heads but seem to had shrugged off what the old man said before running off towards the other end of the village.
The old man was in some old clothes that were made out of random patches of other cloths. He had a long white beard and was walking with a cane. He slouches a little and walks in slow tiny steps.
"Hey sorry to disturb but may I know what is the rumour about?" asked Sparky as he walked towards the old man.
"I can't hear you..!"
"I SAID CAN I KNOW ABOUT THE R-U-M-O-U-R THAT YOU MENTIONED!"
"Oh! The rumours started recently but it is said that a giant monster had been spotted roaming around the village! It is noted to be about 12 metres in length and seemed to be in the shape of a dinosaur!" said the old man.
"That's it!" shouted Sparky while looking at Scar. "Old man, do you know where the creature usually appear?" continued Sparky, turned back towards the old man.
The old man looked at Sparky, confused and released a sigh. He patted Sparky on his shoulders before replying to Sparky's question.
"I don't know what you intend to do but I have heard that it's been spotted at the south of the village, close to the mythical forest!" replied the old man while pointing at the direction where Sparky and Scar should head to. "Youngsters! Do take care and come back in one piece!" said the old man before leaving.
Quickly, Scar and Sparky dashed down towards the south of the village. Everything seemed to be normal. Sparky climbed up onto a nearby tree and sat on it's big branch. He looked around carefully into the distance before telling Scar that he had spotted nothing so far.
Out of a sudden Sparky heard a rustle coming from the trees nearby. He turned around and noticed a shadow dashing from bush to bush. Assuming that it was the Carnotaurus, Sparky stood on guard and informed Scar about what he has in sight.
Sparky jumped from one tree to another as Scar sneaked towards the bushes. "On my count," said Scar as they both got into place. "3... 2... and NOW!"
Sparky and Scar both leaped into the bushes and all they saw was a boy about the age of 7. The boy was dressed in a short hoodie and long track pants. Instantly, the boy fell back onto the ground as he saw Sparky and Scar's sudden approach.
"Ah, I'm sorry for startling you!" said Sparky as he went closer to the boy to calm him down. "What are you doing here child? What is your name?" asked Scar in a rather worried tone.
"Ah... Um... I am just a child from the village! I-I got lost while I was trying to catch a rabbit!" said the boy before his eyes got all teary. He was about to cry as Sparky gave him a pat on his head and assured him that they would bring him back to the village.
"Catch a rabbit...? The distance from the village towards this place is too far for a kid and a small animal like a rabbit to handle. The walk here is about 2 hours. Can a boy keep up with the rabbit for the entire 2 hours and end up here?" thought Scar as he scratched his head.
"Um... before that... I-Im hungry..." said the little boy as he sat on the ground lethargically. His stomach growled loudly at the same time as well. Scar and Sparky looked at each other and decided to find some food for the boy as the way back towards the village was quite a long.
Out of a sudden, Sparky heard the sound of a gushing river nearby. "River! There might be fishes there!" said Sparky out loud. Scar nodded his head and the three of them decided to head there.
"Ah...AH!" said the little boy as he accidentally slipped from the river bank into the river. "Are you ok? Look at this fish that I caught! Isn't it huge?" asked Sparky as he tried to distract the boy from the pain by showing him the fish that he caught a few moments ago.
"I'll teach you! Look at me!" said Sparky as he guided the boy.
Scar looked at them from afar and thought to himself, "Was I just thinking too much...?"
Sparky and the boy took the fishes they caught and brought it back towards the river bank where Scar was. They set up a campfire and cooked the fish before gobbling them up as they were really hungry after an hour of fishing with bare hands.
Soon enough, nightfall came and they decided to head back towards the village. Sparky carried the boy on his shoulders to keep him entertained on the way back towards the village. They chatted about many things on their way back towards the village.
After 2 hours, they finally arrived at the entrance of the village and Sparky placed the boy down back onto the ground.
"Wha... what is this...?" said Sparky as he stammered through his words. Scar and Sparky instantly ran into the village to see what was going on. The village was burnt into crisp and everyone was practically gone.
Then, he saw a shadow of a teenage girl walking towards them from the direction of the village. They both took a step back as the little boy ran up to her and hugged her. "Good job my little brother..." said the teenage girl before giving a smirk at both Scar and Sparky.
"Thanks for your time big brothers!" said the boy with a gentle smile. "I knew the boy would bring troubles!" said Scar. Sparky was still very shocked and he only got back to his senses when Scar hit his head from behind. "Prepare Spark."
"It's useless..." said the girl before pointing her palm at them and releasing a dust of powder. "We will meet again soon... goodbye for now..." she continued before Sparky and Scar fell onto the ground, unconscious.
