The largest of the young dragons momentarily looked away from the arena. She was surprised by the dragon lord's pleased smirk.
'Are you certain, Lord Treeda? … But Uncle has always ordered that I shouldn't reveal my full abilities in public.'
'Have no worries, Maeda,' Treeda reassured the young dragon. 'I agree that Uutrai has his reasons for keeping your strength a secret. Today, however, is an exception.'
'This is a rare moment for you to challenge your limits and learn from failure. Make sure not to underestimate the man I push before you.
'If anything,' Treeda added with a sly chuckle, 'I plan for the two of you to get much closer to each other.
'And there's no better time than the present!'
Out of reflex, the young dragon squinted. She jolted her head back to the fight at hand. Not saying anything more after recognizing that all-too-familiar look in Treeda's eager eyes.
Ch-chink! Sk-skring!
