"Of course I do my clan proud!" Yeter shouted, leaping over their log barricade and diving into the piled-up snow. "See! I'm fine!"
"Great! But keep wearing the mantle unless it's reduced to rags," Oli shouted while the team broke out in laughter.
Yeter boldly jumped back to the open area and did his best to hide how badly he was shivering. But no one commented on that since they were too busy donning their own mantles.
They hurried back into their bedrolls and napped for an hour until dawn. When everyone got up, there were no signs of wolves anywhere. But everyone knew it wasn't so easy to get wolves off their trail. And if there was a larger pack that the wolves had been a part of, a future battle was imminent.
So the team did what was best. They moved along. A quick breakfast was all that happened before the team scurried away in pursuit of the glowing beacon.
