Chapter 4 - Mystery

Miss Ellen harrumped angrily ."Simply saying you are not responsible will not save your from consequences"

Ellen took a moment to calm down again,it seemed she was far from the calm state she showed them. When the emotions bursted there was an artificial earthquake. For the group of course.

People were stupefied. The explanation couldn't be more ridiculous. They could only use approximately 0.1% percent of their true power right now.And the people here were making such big claims against them.Where was the fairness in the world.

Even if the strongest from their world came here, his most probable fate would to lay on the floor in a pool of blood. The other possibilities were him hiding in sewers or disguising as a common person of this world to survive. They couldn't imagine how they could have done what they claim.

But Miss Ellen didn't seem to be in the mood of explaining any further and continued after her emotions were settled.

"You all will stay on this planet for now.You will be given shelter and basic necessities of life. But you have to work for anything more.Any questions?"

Some among them wanted to ask a few basic questions, they had just raised their hands when Miss Ellen suddenly turned her head and went into her tent.

There was silence in the field for a moment. And those who had just raised their hand seemed very awkward and put hands down.

It seemed asking whether they had any questions was more of a formality. They didn't really plan to give them answers.

The group still had aplenty of questions on their minds but not the courage to ask them now.If they didn't want to answer them,it would do no good to irritate them.

They would get familiar with the World as time passes. There were no life threats apparent right now,so they didn't need to be in a hurry. They had enough time on their hands.

The guards came forward and asked them to return to their respective tents.

Although their attitude was not too bad it was not excellent also. The group that had intended to gather to discuss their future plans were stopped right in their tracks.

They seemed to be afraid of them. They wouldn't even let them gather together.

But the group didn't question the order, they did not have the final authority in here. The group did not have enough power to protect themselves,It would do good to adhere to the demands of this World''s inhibitors,at least for now.

The journey was a bumpy ride for the group. Both literally and figuratively. They were not accustomed to riding such small horses. The different scenery here also had them amazed.

But according to the army division the journey was uneventful. They had found this information through their more social person whose EQ was the highest among them.He bribed some among the troops to get information not confidential to the people living in this world. They had no land, money, authority or anything else to give them. One of the things they had was their life which they couldn't trade. The other thing was their weak manpower which they didn't need.

They were camping quite far from their homes and they mostly consisted of only men so they did have needs after all.

They had also found that they were heading to the commercial city Austin. They couldn't acquire any other important information.

At last they saw some buildings in this vast plain.

Upon their arrival here, the rest of the army departed with Miss Ellen and only left a squad of more than 100 soldiers here.

The group was separated and then sent into different rooms in the inn.The inn's rooms were small in both size and number. There were limited rooms.

Some soldiers had to share such cramped rooms and others even camped outside due to insufficient space. But the group was never ordered to cram together.

Allen couldn't quite get what was the squad trying to achieve by being so vigilant towards them. They could not even kill a chicken in here.A person among them had tried to hunt the smaller version of hen but was pecked brutally in return. Some large scratches of nails remained unclosed till now. What was the point of being cautious.

They were less in power and small in number, but they were still so afraid of them.If he could understand the source of their fear he would at least be able to save his own skin when the time arrived.

But clues left by Miss Ellen were confusing and trying to piece them together was taxing on his mind. The clues didn't have head or tails. If he could get more information that would be a different case though.

He left the riddle alone for now.Trying to ensure his well-being in present was more urgent right now. Those without power tend to think more. The others had experienced today what was meant by it.

Even though they were exhausted, they had trouble sleeping. And even when sleep came,it came in periods.

Tun,tun, tun. There was a loud sound repeatedly ringing that disturbed the group's hard earned sleep. They tossed and turned to shake it off but still had to get up after a few seconds.

The group's eyes were dark red due to lack of sleep with some exceptions. Some also had light yellow. They exited the inn to see all the soldiers already gathered together.

It seemed like the alarm was only for them and not for the already perfectly disciplined soldiers. They had mind to complain but no will seeing the squad captain's face.

He seemed pretty strict towards them externally but who really knows. He might also be a case of internal mental breakdown like Miss Ellen.

He uttered not a word and saved himself of the hassle. If Miss Ellen also did this there would not have been a slip up.Ops,the slip up was in their favor. It would have been good if the captain talked too.

The captain ordered the caravan to start travelling. The group were still lacking energy and were somewhat unwilling. But they did not have the means to refuse his order.

So they mounted the mini horses and started their journey. This time the travel was more smother for them. They had gotten accustomed to riding on it's small back. Now they only had ass pain when travelling for long and nothing else. They had gotten familiar pretty fast.

There was one more stop during their journey. After a month long travel they had finally approached their destination.

It was all Allen's observation. The soldiers didn't even like to talk to them.

There were some villages in sight 20 days ago.10 days ago their rate of appearance had increased. Now they traveled by many carriages travelling which meant there was a bustling place here. And other than a commercial city what would be a place bustling with people.

They were no walls of the city in sight. But they could observe shadows of buildings.Allen had already imagined how the city looks like. They were that close to observe these things. The maximum height of the tallest building here would be around 15 meter.

It was more developed compared to villages before but not by much.

However when they neared the city,he was pretty taken back at what his eyes were showing him.
