Chapter 143 - Talk Strategy

The meeting was held in a room which had the wooden hemispherical table. However, only the members of Lutalo and The People's Light were involved. The Freya rebel group was asked to head back to the Teria airships since those people were technically under Lutalo.

"Alright, looks like everyone is here," said Jessie when she stood up from her seat.

Aside from Jessie and Evgeny, there were three more members of The People's Light in that room.

"Tsk. Why is Freya here anyway?" said a blonde woman who had been glaring at Freya the entire time. "She's not in our group anymore."

"I'm taking care of her for now," said Hope with a stern expression.

Freya was sitting next to Hope, her head drooped. She didn't want to meet her former comrades in the eyes. I felt bad for her. No one seemed to understand her.

The blonde woman wanted to say something to Hope, but Jessie told her to calm down. Of course, Hope was a former member of The People's Light as well, so that blonde woman had her own opinion of him.

"Let's . . . Get started," said Caesar. His fingers tapped at the wooden table, signifying his impatience.

"Right." Jessie glanced at Evgeny. He gestured for her to start and she nodded.

"I'll begin with Moscow and its forces. Basically, the C.U's military forces in Russia are concentrated in that city. From our scouts' reports, the forces in Moscow make up about fifty percent of it."

Lily raised her hand. "So that means . . . After we take over Moscow, their military forces stationed in Russia will diminish by half."

"Exactly," said Jessie. "There are multiple generals residing in that city. Though, we have a hard time figuring out the exact number."

"Um, if you excuse us, there's someone that would like to participate in this meeting as well," muttered Sofeea. Her Hologram Bracelet had been flashing in red for a few minutes. "It's Klaus. He's a genius. I'm sure he can provide us with beneficial inputs."

Evgeny agreed, and Sofeea didn't waste any time to press the flashing button on the device. A moment later, a blue hologram of Klaus popped into existence.

"Finally," Klaus said.

"What do you have in mind, Mister Klaus?" said Jessie.

"Well, I've been listening, and I want to mention the railguns propped up in Moscow."

"Ah, the railguns. I was about to say it."

"Oh, my apologies . . . Please continue."

Jessie coughed. She swept a gaze across the room and continued her explanation.

"The new railgun technology has been the city's strongest offense and defense. There are a few railguns positioned at the edge of the city. Aside from Kian's absurd combat strength, the railguns had put a dent in our numbers recently."

Hope put a hand at his chin. "You need to destroy at least one of it, but I suppose there's no way someone can get close without using a Teria airship."

Klaus chimed in, "The railguns that they use are stupidly expensive. The cost of it alone put a hole in the C.U's military expenses. Destroying each one would definitely lead us to victory."

"Yeah. Only Moscow has the railguns since producing it doesn't really benefit them that much," said Evgeny.

Jessie took a deep breath. "Also, a huge amount of Teria soldiers and Vasquez are confirmed to be guarding that city. I suggest that Lutalo attacks the forces there up front. Full-fledged Aegis Users wreaking havoc should be enough to pull their attention, leaving a few blind spots at the opposite side of the city."

Everyone nodded.

"Our Pseudo Users will then attack from any weak side of the city, ultimately forming a late pincer attack," continued Jessie. "I will also be there, forming a dome around the frontline with my Aegis crystals. If there's a User or two waiting for us there, my specialty could hinder their movement."

"Hmm."

Caesar was thinking about something. A few seconds later, he snapped his finger. "That's a good strategy and all, but for me, it's too simple. According to your proposed plan, there's no decisive turning point that favors us. We need something to turn the tide of the battle in case anything doesn't go well. You know what I mean?"

Jessie nodded. "I understand. That's why we will also launch our fighter jets into battle as well. We have been keeping it hidden for a while now. By hook or by crook, we need to win this one, and I will throw everything I got at them."

"Fighter jets," I said.

Everyone looked at me, and I blinked. "Um, haha . . . I'm sure the fighter jets can distract their air forces while the rest of us head for the kill. The generals are definitely our greatest priority, so having them killed will turn the tide."

Lily put a hand on my shoulder and I flinched. "That's a great idea, Ava."

"Eh? Um, I just said what I have in mind. Haha."

I didn't know why I was nervous at that time, but perhaps, the tension in that room was the cause. After all, we were heading into a battle that would decide the future of Russia, and failure was not an option.

"Hmm. Lutalo can have a go at the C.U's jets and all that stuff, but it will be suicide," said Klaus.

"Not really," said Hope. He glanced at Freya who was sitting next to him. "My Aegis's specialty has a trump card. Aside from absorbing Aegis crystals, there's a way to make use of it after that. I can release the stored Aegis crystals in the form of plasma. The amount, intensity, and the destructive nature of the plasma depend on how much Aegis crystals I release at that moment."

"Ah, I see." Evgeny breathed a sigh. "You can use it to reduce the number of their forces bit by bit. But, how can you release the plasma continuously? I'm sure you need Aegis crystals nearby for you to restore the plasma."

"That's why there must be an Aegis User by my side all the time, supplying me with her Aegis crystals."

I blinked. "You mean me?"

"Yup."

"Makes sense," Caesar said. "Lady Ava can produce a huge amount of Aegis crystals with no effort at all. You two make up a good duo in battle."

After that, we wrapped up the meeting quick. Jessie and Evgeny agreed with the plan, where Hope would be our main offense. Klaus mentioned the possibility of The Four Pillars in Moscow, and that they were the 'x' factor in the decisive battle.

There wasn't much we could do about them. One way or another, we had to face those powerful Users. We needed to defeat them.

I slept in the mansion that night, recalling the battle plan before I fell asleep.
