"Haahn.. Haa.. Nnn.."
Inside the room, a faint panting sound could be heard coming from the woman on the bed, her face looking flushed. Her long black hair was undone, inking the white sheets and her pale body. Under her, the blankets were twisted from the intense movements. This also caused the bed to creak.
Creak-creak... creeaak...
The woman had her thighs wide open with both her hands holding onto the headboard to keep herself from moving too much. Some scratch marks could be seen on the wood with how hard her nails were digging on it.
She bit her lower lip to refrain herself from shouting out loud, to not make the other people in the house more worried. She was supposed to be used to this due to the many times she had experienced it in the past but the pain was still excruciating.
Another intense thrust was felt in her womb, causing her to expel a breath as well as a clump of 'haze', making the room more scorching.
The room was dark with the fire extinguished a while ago so it would not add to the heat in the room. The only light now was the one coming from outside the bedroom, entering from the small vent above the door.
Despite the cold night outside, the windows were kept closed to keep the noises and the 'haze' from coming out. The people inside the house didn't want to disturb the peaceful night in the village.
But let's not forget the other person in the room. She was still feeling inadequate in this field despite her doing this since she was younger. Beads of sweat were also seen on her face, a clear indication that she was also having an intense night.
"Nnnh.. Ahhn.." The moaning and the movements of the women on the bed was still on going. A rustling sound soon followed when the blanket finally fell on the floor. However, the two disregarded this, only focusing on themselves.
The girl kneeling on the bed touched the woman's tender breast to soothe the ache. A wet and cold sensation was also felt in the woman's nipples. This caused the woman to grunt, her breasts feeling heavy and the girl's recent 'touch' was still not enough to assuage it.
She felt like she just needed more and looked longingly at the girl, though her eyes looked delirious. Seeing this, the girl kept her right on the woman's breast, massaging it, while she put her left on the woman's lower parts. They both exhaled a sigh of relief afterwards.
Shortly after, however, the stirring inside the woman's womb became more intense, causing her to scream out loud.
"Aaargghhh!!!"
The scream pierced through the serene night of the small village. How do you think it will be like to hear someone shout like that in a night like this?
Since it happens every year, a few villagers were already used to it but that does not mean they can tolerate it. A lot of them complained before but it seemed like their voices were heard by deaf ears.
This village was considered small even compared to the nearby villages in the island. It has its main area at a small hilltop with most of the residences clumped at the foot.
Only a few hundred villagers were living here with a simple lifestyle, working from sunrise to sunset, aside from the men guarding during the night, since not many can keep a fire burning after dark. Most of them eat their supper before the moon was out, then sleep early without even lighting a fire so as not to waste their energy.
Tonight, however, due to the noises from the area in the small hilltop, even the neighboring houses at the foot of the hill were getting awakened.
The cacophony was then joined by a baby's crying from one of the houses. The neighbors would have scolded this family if it would not have added to the already noisy night. Resigned to a somewhat sleepless night, the people proceeded to comfort their children then tried to fall asleep themselves.
Inside the house with the crying baby, in one of the rooms, two people started arguing in hushed voices.
"Tsk! This keeps happening every year!" The man said while getting off the bed, rubbing his sleepy eyes while feeling for his sandals with his feet.
Behind him, his wife retorted, "As if you'll be any different. I remember you're one of those boys always drooling after Mahina too!"
"Th-that's ..." The man was at a loss of words as he cannot refute that argument, when suddenly, their son's wails got louder.
"A-anyway, you should try to stop the baby's crying. The neighbors will also be mad at us at this rate."
The man instead scolded his wife, thankful of his son's cries for once since he did not have to answer his wife's accusations. You can't really blame him for responding like a man when it comes to interacting with Mahina, the most beautiful girl of their generation.
"Hmmph! Your child is just like you, always starting an argument, always joining a fight!" The wife then walked off to the kitchen to make food for the baby.
Back to the house where all of these chaos started, the man responsible for this problem could be seen pacing outside the house's main bedroom, crooning his two-year-old again to sleep. He was trying to be silent by whispering near the baby's ear but his beard was slightly grazing the baby's skin.
Beside him, in the living room, was one of his twin daughters, Talto, playing with his three- and four-year-olds to keep them from crying and joining their mother in disturbing the sleeping village. Meanwile, his eldest was using her 'touch' to help soothe her mother before the midwife came.
The man was the village chief, Bobo. Like all the other houses in the village, their house was made mostly of wood from the trees in the nearby forest. The house was large enough with the main bedroom for him and his wife and another room for their six daughters. There was also a living room where they were currently staying at to keep the children from being scared, as well as a kitchen with a dining table.
A moment after, a sound of footsteps was heard from outside the house, followed by the door opening and the other twin's voice calling, "Father, I brought Old Lady Burha."
Hearing this, Bobo laid down the now sleeping child in his arms to the bundled blankets on the living room floor, their makeshift bed for this night. "Talto, you take care of your sisters together with Dawa while I'm helping the midwife with your mother."
"Yes, father."
The man guided the old lady to the main bedroom. When they opened the door, they noticed that the 'haze' in the room was so thick, showing that the woman in the bed was suffering.
"Tsk! This is why I told you that Mahina should not get pregnant again! She is already too weak even without the childbirths! She cannot even use her 'touch' to soothe herself on normal times. It was a good thing your daughter is now available to help." But the look the midwife gave him was still accusatory.
When Bobo followed her inside, the old lady stopped him, "You! Just stay at the door unless I call you! You will just add to the 'haze' of emotions already inside!"
Then, the door was shut on the man's bewildered face. To help calm himself, he went back to the children in the living room and noticed that the faces of the twins showed that they heard the midwife scolding him.
A child birth was always difficult for the mother but they can make it easier by using the 'touch' and guide the child during the process. However, Mahina doesn't have much of an afinity to the 'touch' since she was born.
Like most of what the villagers thought, the moaning and screaming continued on until dawn. With the help of the midwife, the pain was less, making the noises that night slightly better than the previous years.
Once it was done, the old midwife called for Bobo and gave the him his son so she can focus her power on the fainted woman on the bed.
Turning to a much brighter part of the room, the chief smiled happily at his bawling son, thinking it was a great blessing that they finally had a son. But then he frowned and twitched his nose, "Old Lady Burha, what is this that my son was eating?"
The old lady was distracted but turned to look. When she saw what it was, she sighed, "Quickly clean it up. It looks like your wife was really stressed this time that she excreted."
