The classroom soon came to a decision to wait for time to be up before doing anything else. Though Gun could be said to be the leader, people still made their own little groups. The grouping ended up being a total of five groups.
Gun was the first group and had 7 people including Gun, in it. The second was the tall youth called Mean Sports, he had the largest group with 7 people following him. Cold Pair was a calm girl with glasses, her people were 5 and the third group. To follow that was the short fatty named Steel Bear who had 4.
Last was surprisingly the girl who figured out about the status trick Bright Rose. She had a group of 3 others and they were all girls. The only other girls in the classroom were Pair and the girl in her group. Looking at the decisions of the 30 people in the classroom, it was clear they didn't trust Gun.
He got all the benefits and he was the first to speak about the rewards. He even seemed inclined to play along with the absurd circumstances. The reason that he could even get 5 people besides his best friend Fist was that the advantages he already had over the others.
Anyone could tell that being level 2 was better than being level 1. It was 4 hours later that the chalkboard congratulated everyone on choosing a group leader before the time's up. It waited a few seconds before giving out the next mission.
"Second Quest Mission! Defend your classroom base or wipe out the invaders. Last 24 hours to get a mission completion." After the message, there was no voice for instructions this time.
Gun decided to check out his special skill Tutorial Help. He saw his energy go down to 90% as the skill activated. "This tutorial will get you the most accurate info you need to know. You are currently doing a quest. To get the best results and score, it is advised to be the predator and wipe out the invaders."
"Because this is the beginner stage, no species will invade their own. One more note is to kill the group leader first to cause the status buff Despair on invaders. The current invaders are only life data to give new invaders a learning experience." Spoke a female voice.
This voice was the same voice that gave out the broadcast earlier. Instead of asking it more info, he looked around the room and saw nobody heard it. This meant it was all in his mind. Wanting to ask about the chances of death, he used the skill again.
"In the current area, only the status buff Unconscious will have an effect. The Death status buff does not apply in the classroom." It informed Gun. This could be said to be a save spot. For a hardcore gamer, it was a cheating spot.
All one had to do was stay in the classroom, fight, revive, and then fight again. There was no point worrying if they would see the next day or anything. Of course, this only applied if the Tutorial Help skill was telling the truth.
The people discussing what to do about the second mission and the incoming invasion soon felt the whole ground shake as the walls of the classroom became transparent. Seeing through the walls, one could see nothing but a white plane field that was as far as the eye could see.
Then in the far edges of the plane, there were goblins with pitchforks, shields, and knives rushing toward the classroom area. This seen freaked out most of the youths in the room. One had to remember that none of them had a weapon, yet the goblins all had some form of weapon on them.
Wasn't this just a slaughter that was waiting to happen? Was there such a game that was unfair to the new players as much as the current world was? Being this unfair, there was no way it was just a game.
Once panic and confusion set in. There were even some people who pushed and shoved others aside to get away from the classroom in their fear. As Gun saw the group of people gain a few buffs like the despair buff, He wondered if he should tell them that there was no chance of death yet.
He quickly rejected this idea. He had no way to explain why he knew without telling them about his special skill. Even if he didn't tell them of the reason why, if they saw it was true, he would soon become public enemy number one because he was already suspicious of being a plant of this.
Not wanting things to get out of hand, Gun shouted out to everyone still in the classroom. "STOP! Everyone gather near me. You all remember that I got the bonus skill Courage not too long ago right? This skill can buff the people near me to gain status buffs called Confidence and sometimes Calm."
Like waking up from a dream, the people gathered near Gun. Fist who stood nearby couldn't help but smile at seeing his friend in action. The way he was able to stay in control and affect those near him by his presence, was this what one would call a natural born leader?
Having the attention of everyone, Gun decided he would help as many people in the classroom to help bring a closer sense of unity. "Don't over think things too much. The goblins running to the classroom should be the weakest of the weakest according to game standards."
"There are also goblins with only shields and no attack weapons. What we should do is single out the goblins with shields to get some kind of protection to defend ourselves. After we get some shields, we should target the leader in their group." Gun continued talking.
"Remember in the beginning with the first quest mission it said, 'Groups who fail their elect leader quest will get the status buff Despair'. We can think of it like this, 'Those without a group leader will have the status buff Despair'. It's not 100% it will happen but it's worth a try to get advantages over the other side." Gun finished saying.
There was no one who disagreed with this method to handle the goblins. It was even decided there would be 2 waves to fight the goblins. The first wave was to charge at the surrounding goblins opening a path and the second wave was to attack the shield-wielding goblins.
Despite using the Courage skill, not everyone had the will to leave the classroom to fight either. So it turned out being three teams altogether. Bear and Rose groups' would stay in the classroom to defend. Pair's and half of Gun's group would be apart of the first wave.
The second wave would have some of Gun's group like his friend Fist and Sports' group. Each team would be led by two leaders. Since the goblins finally made it near, the youths in the classroom didn't have any time to get into a formation or tried understanding how too.
The first wave was forced to rush out before the goblins were too close. Gun made sure to remind Fist to attack the goblins his side opened a path through. While the 30 people were helping each other, they were really still divided.
Gun did sigh in disappointment that he wouldn't be able to take advantage of the classroom cheating spot. But he didn't think too much of it because it was better not to form a sheltered mindset in this sort of place. The strong would just grow stronger after all.
Gun wasted no time in being the first to rush forward after using Courage on the first wave. He would follow the advice from the Tutorial Help and be a predator of the goblins. While he didn't have martial arts training, there was plenty of games that needed fighting skills to be a top player.
As the number 2 top player of small-time games, he wouldn't have any problems. He quickly choice to close in on a goblin with a knife since the shield goblins where being protected in the back? Shouldn't they be in the front?
He disregarded the absurd mindset the goblins had and reach out his hand to the knife goblin. He grabbed the swinging knife arm mid-swing while pulling the goblin closer. A snap was heard loud and clear as the arm of it broke by his tug.
Only then did he realize how much stronger he was compared to the current level 1 creatures. He was level 2 right now and everything had increased by 5 points. With an increase in perception and speed, things around him were already moving slower than usual.
In his mind, a voice announced that he got 1 prey point after helping the goblin to its own weapon in hand. He continued rushing the goblins as he used Tutorial Help this time to figure out what was a prey point. It soon gave him a list of basic items he could get with friend items being cheaper and non-equipable by him.
He would have checked more into it but he was still fighting. Before the Tutorial Help ended, it told him a skill's performance depends on the user's level.
Gun now had a knife as he sliced a goblin's weapon holding arm before giving it another slash to the neck. It burst into light particles leaving the knife on the ground. By this time the second wave came running forward.
Once Fist got nearby, Gun tossed him the extra knife and headed toward a shield goblin himself. It put up one block before turning into particles, giving him his first shield. He was like an unstoppable juggernaut to the level 1s as he reaped them out one by one.
When the other 29 people saw this, they could only feel a chill down their spines. Wasn't Light Gun too strong? Or was it that the goblins were too weak? Nobody held the belief that they could achieve the same thing at their current strength.
In fact, the goblins were only half as strong as the classroom group. Because of the difference in strength, the number of goblins was twice as many as the human group. Not a single person was pressured or kill by a goblin because of the pressure Gun was putting on the goblins instead.
By the time Gun got his tenth prey point, the goblins started making way for him out of fright. Gun also notice the behavior of the goblins as he checked his status and the others. Surprising, he managed to get the status buff Goblin Predator as the goblins he felt like fighting would get the buff Prey in return.
Watching their frighten faces, Gun looked around once more before he spotted a goblin who had the title Group Leader and was also level 2. This goblin had made no move to join the battle till now. Even so, Gun couldn't help giving his evil grin as his eyes locked on to the goblin leader.
It grew wider as he saw the status buff Prey light up on it.
