Summary:
First put to use against the Ostrians during the climax of the original Drussian-Panish conflict, the Model One Howitzer quickly became one of the core fundamentals required for any contemporary Drussian battle formation.
Although it's range suffered as a result, the design philosophy of the Howitzer allowed it to arch its shots over anything, including the natural environment, battlements and blocks of men whether they were soldiers of the Imperium of hostile enemies.
As such, Howitzers did not required a higher elevation to complete its tasks and more importantly it was able to utilise 'air-burst' rounds; balls made of steel which detonated and exploded in the air, sending death and shrapnel to everything bellow it in a large vicinity.
On top of its devastating penchant for destruction, the howitzer also innovated in its ease of use by being the first heavy weapon of the Imperium to utilise 'breechloading,' a loading technique that allowed a weapon to be reloaded through a hatch on its back rather than through the front barrel.
Thus, the howitzer was quick to become a symbol of power to the members of the Imperium and a symbol of fear for the Imperium's enemies.
For what can a mere man do when the skies itself starts raining with fire?
