According to the information provided in the books, the core of the formation glowed and could easily be spotted from a distance of ten meters, this directly eliminated the streets and place which could be seen from a large distance away.
Then the core wouldn't be any small houses that had less number of exits as it would be hard for it to escape if someone searched that house. The core might try to use a reverse psychology and hide in one of these houses but given the large population that was looking for the core, these houses would surely be searched so there was no point in hiding in them as this would lead to a grand chase that might lead to the core being caught in a trap.
The core, wasn't in the castle since Lin Fang had already searched it. Since its sentience was newly gained, it wouldn't know about any hiding spots like secret rooms as it had never met Ruth Wakado who might have helped him in hiding in one of the safe hiding tunnels or something as such, eliminating anything that was hidden from the eyes of the public.
While Lin Fang was trying to imagine himself as a glowing football trying to hide in a City as wide as this, he realized that it was not that easy as there wasn't enough information and he was starting to depend upon guesswork.
He closed his eyes trying to think of the best places the core could hide but the city was just too big, he would never be able to search every corner. As Lin Fang was thinking of a method, a thought struck him. He didn't have to search for the core, there was a whole army of minions and other demons in large numbers out there that could easily spread across the whole city, all he had to do was make sure that the demons spread out and searched the city in an organized manner.
He pulled out the map of the city he had taken from the City Lord's library and with his photographic memory(due to the blue eyes) remembered it by heart. He jumped off the tower in the direction in which he had seen the fire devils.
Lin Fang ignored all the humans and other anomalies as a cold and aloof aura surrounded him, he seemed to be once again under the effect of the blue eyes. It took him five minutes to locate one of them reducing the total cooldown to roughly Forty-five minutes. As he reached the flame devil he calmly said, "Bring me to your master."
Without any wastage of time, Lin Fang got straight to the point as he looked coldly at the Flame devils. It was similar to the previous devils he had seen with the round body and burning fire that surrounded it while floating midair.
The Devil was confused at first as he looked at Lin Fang in confusion. Who was this guy? What did he want with the master? The Flame Devil was not the most intelligent creature in the world but it was still conscious about small things.
The Flame Devil would have continued to ignore Lin Fang had it not felt a chilling aura on its back making it shiver unconsciously for some reason even though he was on fire. The devil realized, even with its limited IQ that it would die if this guy's words weren't followed.
Without wasting another second, the Devil turned around with a fawning expression on his face as he tried to rub its body against Lin Fang's legs. Obviously, Lin Fang didn't want his clothes to burn so he avoided it with a sudden side-step stopping the Devil in its tracks.
Under the intense and innately cold gaze of Lin Fang, the Flame Devil decided to compromise and lead him to his master. Besides, even if he had terrible thoughts about the master, the master was surely stronger than this guy and could crush him like an ant so there was no point in not allowing them to meet up.
With these thoughts in mind, the Flame Devil nodded his head signifying that he was ready to lead and left in a certain direction towards the northern part of the city. Master and servant demons formed a contract with their body that allowed them to locate each other even if they were hundreds of miles away from each other though there was a limit to the distance.
As the Flame Devil moved forward, it couldn't help but notice Lin Fang's peculiar behaviour. Whenever the duo came across a monster, Lin Fang would stop it and whisper something in his ears. The face of the demon would immediately change colour whenever they heard the words of Lin Fang. The demons would then hurriedly leave, even stopping their search for the core which would not only save their lives but also have them rewarded with great benefits.
By the time Lin Fang reached the northern part, another ten minutes had already passed. Lin Fang had sensed something weird as if something was wrong and he had rubbed his hair only to realize that he saw a small white hair in his hand. Even he had started to age and this was not a good sign
When Lin Fang arrived at the spot which the Flame Devil was leading him to, it immediately disappeared as if he had seen a ghost. Lin Fang ignored the Flame Devil's scaredy-cat behaviour as he stood in front of a massive throne looking closely at the face of the person who might try to kill him at the drop of the hat.
The throne was kept in the middle of a plaza and it was made of human body parts and bones. Lin Fang would normally vomit after he saw this bloody and brutal scene but he just looked coldly at the person sitting on the throne.
Sitting on top of that throne surrounded by various kinds of creatures was a man who seemed to be on fire similar to a Flame Devil. His body gave of unimaginable heat as the air in his surroundings distorted due to the warm air released by his body. This man was the Flame Horse, one of the five bosses that Lin Fang knew of who had attacked this city. He was right now in his human form. He was around six-feet-tall with brown coloured skin and a well proportioned and fit body that could be seen as he only wore pants to cover his lower half.
The Flame Devil which had been forced by Lin Fang to lead the way till now quickly ran up to he Flame Horse and started squeaking. The Flame Horse seemed to understand the words of the Devil as he turned to Lin Fang with a calm expression on his face.
"What do you want from me?", it asked. The Flame Horse had clearly learned that LIn Fang was seeking him for some reason. The boss level monster could easily see that Lin Fang was a level 3 demon which was only half of his and his strength should be multiple times weaker. It couldn't understand why someone weak like this would seek out him when they were all about to die.
Normally he wouldn't even entertain such low levelled creatures but since they were all about to die if they couldn't find the stone, this guy should really have something important to say, otherwise...
"Let's wait for the other's to arrive before I talk.", Lin Fang said coldly as he waved his hands and went towards a corner to sit down. His first impression of this demon was terrible, someone who could use the bones of other's to make a throne for themselves was surely not a good person. If Lin Fang didn't need his help, he would surely never want to have any dealings with him and might even have a bit of killing intent for the Flame Horse.
"How Dar-"
Seeing Lin Fang's disrespectful behaviour, some of the subordinates of the Flame Horse stood up to teach him a lesson with flames of rage burning in their eyes. These guys couldn't bear to see someone behave like this in front of their leader. They were just about to move when the Flame Horse raised to stop them, he had sensed an aura approaching as his expression turned solemn looking in a certain direction.
