The moment the beggar heard his words, his eyes flashed a weird light and he suddenly attacked Lin Fang. Lin Fang dodged the incoming fist with his speed as he sneered in his heart. If he hadn't known about this beforehand, he would surely have been surprised and instinctively blocked instead of dodging leading to the revelation of his identity.
The beggar seemed surprised by his reaction speed as massaged his hands and looked at the aura surrounding Lin Fang's body.
"Level 1 with a strength of level 3, you are good kid, follow me." The beggar said, although his flattery sounded completely fake. Lin Fang was snickering at this beggar's thoughts about his strength. Of course, he wouldn't explain this marginal error purposefully done by him to create a misconception of his strength. He had improved a lot in the past few days, so much so that he could now control the amount of strength that he showed to his enemies. Since he was wearing a mask, the beggar couldn't see his reaction. He could just see the amusement in Lin Fang's eyes which he couldn't understand the reason of. Lin Fang didn't say anything as followed him inside.
The beggar gave the bartender sitting at the bar a knowing glance after entering before leading Lin Fang behind the counter into a side room. Lin Fang looked at the inside of the room curiously, it was made of bricks which could be seen and didn't have any furniture or decoration at all, just a plain simple room with four walls.
The beggar pressed a few bricks on the wall opposite to the door and the room started to shake. Lin Fang felt his stomach give a lurch making him want to vomit due to the movement. It was then that the shaking stopped, the bricks in the wall began to fall backward as a set of spiral stairs appeared in front of Lin Fang.
A notification rang in his head:
{Player Fallen Angel has entered the black market of Greenwood City, you shall no more need to pass the test of the guard to enter or exit the market in the city.}
The beggar(guard) pointed towards the stairs and said to Lin Fang, "enter".
Lin Fang nodded to him and entered. He didn't know for how long he walked down the stairs before he saw another door similar to one upstairs. The moment he opened the door, he was greeted with a completely different view from what he had expected.
The black market that he had expected to be an underground gloomy city wasn't like that at all. It was crowded with hordes of people surrounding each and every stall with quite a few wearing masks like Lin Fang. There was also the fact that the market was above ground and not under the city as he had originally imagined. He could see the bright sun and beautiful blue sky above his head. This place felt more like a market fair than a black market.
The little Greenwood Spirit peaked out of inside his clothes as it looked around with fascinated eyes, "Master, Let's get to work and quickly steal that rock."
The little rabbit was clearly very excited to steal from these disgusting humans who thought that the world revolved around them.
"No, let's look around first, we'll wait until tomorrow to get the token appraised.", he replied.
"Why?", the Greenwood Spirit asked in confusion. It really couldn't understand its master, first, he was in such a hurry to get this mission finished but now he wanted to wait, just what was going on with him.
Lin Fang didn't reply to him but looked at the greyed 'Transformation' skill in his stats. Somehow, he couldn't get this nagging feeling out of his mind that something bad was about to happen. So, he wanted to wait until he recovered his transformation ability before making his move...
A few hours ago at Omni Corp,
"Sir, it has been confirmed that Player Fallen Angel has gotten one of the quests of the twelve demon generals.", The secretary bowed in front of the president.
The atmosphere in the room was very cold as the President thought of all the recent events. Since a few days ago, things hadn't been going his way at all. First, the pressure from his family, then the seal of the legend class breaking and now this.
This didn't mean he never expected this, the moment Fallen Angel broke the seal, he knew something like this was bound to happen.
"So he refused our proposal?", he asked coldly.
"It would seem like that sir since he hasn't replied."
The man went into deep thought again after hearing his answer.
"S-Sir may I ask a question?", Seeing his boss slowly return to reality, The secretary finally couldn't control the curiosity in his heart.
"Hm"
"Sir, how is it possible for Fallen Angel to get such an important quest without connections, the odds would be too low. Maybe-"
He was about to continue when his boss raised his hand to stop him from continuing to speak. Even though his face didn't betray any of his current thought, the boss was actually depressed inside his heart. There were a total of twelve demon general trapped around the entire continent, to make the journey of the person playing the Demon Wargod easier, the developers had laid down twelve different routes each for them to be unsealed. This means that the Demon Wargod had over one hundred and forty-four opportunities to unseal any one of them. The odds weren't too low now, were they.
Of course, if the Demon Wargod wasn't able to release the demon generals in a given set time, they would all break free from their cages after the set period ended and push the story forward.
He had carefully laid down the road for the development of this legend class and now it was being used by someone else, how could he not feel depressed in his heart. If only, this guy hadn't broken that seal so early on. Just one month of time would have been enough for it to fall too far behind to catch up ever again. If only...
"You said that we had a few players in Greenwood City who could help us make contact?", he asked.
"Yes sir", the secretary replied.
"Give them his current location, his face and get him killed before he finds the stone.", he said coldly. He had given this guy a chance to survive. If he didn't want it then... Hmph! don't blame him for being merciless.
"But sir, if the board found out that you broke-", he stopped himself from continuing when he saw the stormy expression on his boss's face.
"Also, tell them his class but don't let them spread news about him and make sure that you leave no traces of behind.", his secretary was right, he shouldn't make it too obvious that it was him who spread the Wargod's location.
"Yes sir, I will immediately have it done.", He replied as he ran out of the office.
The president turned in his chair to look at the beautiful view of the city outside. He had already decided what to do next, the player Fallen Angel would never cross the ranks of 0 level players. He would be killed the moment he respawned. So what if he couldn't spread his face to the rest of the players in case the board found out about his underhand tricks, he could still hire people to get Fallen Angel killed until his own people developed far enough to create a gap so large that it couldn't be bridged. Just a little bit of time was all he needed. He sighed thinking that he really wasn't suited for all this business work.
As he looked at the view outside, he couldn't help but miss the good old days when he was just a simple inventor working with his father, enjoying life and her.
The moment the image of that woman came into his mind, he shook his head as if trying to forget something as he got back to thinking on the problem at hand.
The board wouldn't question his decision on the Wargod too much if he didn't make it too obvious that it was him who was doing this so he did have some restrictions there. I really want to see your next move Fallen Angel.
Lin Fang's father had already passed the death sentence. A crisis was approaching Lin Fang very quickly.
