She continued "Another hostile race, is called Vanauts. These things live at the top left region of the North. Just above the Mordars. These creatures look like large rats, and are quite toxic. They specialise in poison, and store it within their bodies. Although hostile to our camp, they don't usually appear around the Obsidian Mountains. They leave Shades alone as well. After all, Shades are immune to most poisons. Therefore, they target Voltars and Humans".
'This is quite interesting. A whole race, that specialises in poison. I wonder how they create their poisons?' I thought. I wouldn't be able to visit them easily, as they were hostile to Humans. It was a shame, since I might've been able, to learn something new about poison from them. Either way, the Lizard continued "There is a third race, that is also hostile to us. It lives in a city next to the Avians". I nodded my head, and said "I know where that city is. I was already warned, that they are hostile to us Humans".
She nodded, and said "Right. The city Tremor, houses a few races to be honest. There are the Slethers. They look like half man, and half snake creatures. They are quite fast, because their bottom part of body, is that of a snake. Not only that, they can also climb very well, and use weapons just like we can. They are hostile to us, but don't really search for any of our races to kill. Usually they stay in that city".
I knew what she was talking about. It was a race, I already met in the Falanks Arena. I said "I already saw a representative of that race, in the Falanks Arena". She nodded her head, and said "Yes, it certainly was possible. Land of Sands is as I said, neutral to all races". She then continued "The other race, that shares the city with Slethers, is called Orcs. They look like big pigs, but more ugly". I laughed a bit, and said "I met those things as well. Owner of the Falanks Arena, is one of them".
She nodded her head, and said "Yes. Not only that, Falanks Arena supports the whole Tremor. These pigs are really greedy though. They would sell their own mothers, to gain profit. They have warriors too, and these Orcs Warriors, usually fight with brutal strength. They also make use, of the Formations in their weapons. They are strong physically, but quite stupid as well. They only know how to make profit, not how to fight properly. That is why, they rely on brute strength, and Formations".
I asked "Why are they hostiles to us?". She replied "I'm not sure, but they help out the other camp. They also despise Humans, for some reason. That is why, the Arena battles are usually worse for Humans. They don't really start the conflict with any of us, but are really keen to support the other side. Therefore, we treat them as enemies". I nodded my head, and asked "Is there any other race, in that City Tremor?".
She nodded, and replied "There is. It is the worst of them all. It's also a race, Humans are currently at war with. That race, is called Furians". I shook my head, and said "I don't think, I ever met a representative of that race". She replied "That is very good. They are very strong, and crazy. The most shocking thing for you, may be that, they look like Humans". She was right, I was shocked. She continued "Although they look like Humans, they have two basic differences. Their eyes are completely black, and their skin is on the grey side. As for their abilities? They can control Auras, just like you Humans. They can sometimes awaken elemental powers too. Usually, they posses fire power, but there were instances, were Furians possessed the power to affect the earth or the water. From what I know, these Furians are really rare".
I said "You mentioned, that we are at war with them". She nodded her head, and answered "That is correct. Humans periodically send larger units of men to the North, and attack Tremor. Please don't think, that we don't help you guys. Shades, as well as Lizards, help out as much as we can. After all, Furians are really crazy, and if they were allowed to grow, we would all be in trouble here". I wasn't worried, whether other races helped Humans or not, but I started to wonder about something. After a while of thinking, I asked "Why would Humans, wage a war against Furians? After all, Humans are not from the North".
She sighed, and replied "There are two reasons. Furians are just like Humans. That means, they can leave the North as they wish. Not only the North would be in danger, the South would be too, if Furians were allowed to grow. The other reason, is even worse. They are the allies of Eterians. I'm sure you know, who Eterians are". I nodded my head, and said "I had a chance to meet a few of them". She nodded her head, and continued "Eterians were the ones, who really started that war. Only when Humans and other races, slaughtered out most of the Eterian population, did the North became peaceful. Of course, Furians are still here, but only a few Eterians managed to survive".
I asked "Where were the Eterians? Where did they live?". Although I asked this question, I already had a location in mind. She asked "Have you ever heard of the Land of Mirages?". I searched through my memory, and replied "Yes. I even saw it, when I visited Avians". She nodded her head, and said "That is exactly where it is then. This was the place, where Eterians lived. Who know, there may be more of them still, but from what I know, Humans managed to destroy their cities, and killed a lot of them. That mist, was their final defence. They didn't activate it in time, and the mist covered the ruins, not the cities".
I asked "So, there may be more Eterians in there?". She nodded, and said "It certainly is a possibility. No one can check that though. We all tried sending people inside, none of them returned alive… or dead. Nothing returned from that mist". I nodded my head, and said "I think, those were all the questions I had. You provided me with a lot of information. Thanks to you, I have a better idea of the North now".
She shook her head, and said "It's nothing. You are not only an ally in a bigger war, but a friend. Harlin would not give you that scale, if he didn't think of you like that". I took out some money, and handed them to her. She refused, by saying "You don't have to pay me. I wanted to help you". I replied "I know, that is why I want to help you out too", and gave her the money anyway. "Just take them, I will get much more, after the auction. It will be useful to you, I'm sure". She smiled, and said "You are rather different, than other Humans. If you have more questions, come back to me, and I will try to answer them".
I replied "Sure", and bid her farewell. When she left, I thought about our small conversation. I learned a lot thanks to her, and a bigger picture, was painted in my mind about the North. I decided to get some rest too, because I had to be present for the auction, that would take place the next day.
