"Uhm, yes, what a coincidence!" Humble Paradise was thrilled by this encounter.
"Good, I'm so glad my ears still work," He laughed and looked forward with a strong expression.
"Ha, well, if you wish, perhaps you can wait here… if you give us your name, we can tell him you're here with us!"
To Humble Paradise, this was like a once in a life time opportunity. He had just found a name to drop, Martial Fist, and he was excited that this man might be a suitable hostage. Of course, this was not something even he'd do to a middle-aged man, but the others with him might consider it.
"Ah, don't tell him about me! I want to surprise him…" His master replied before cracking his fists, "I think he'll be very happy…"
"Ah, yes! Of course, just sit down and he'll be right here!"
"Sure!" Martial Fist said before he sat down on the grass. There was a lot of grass in <
"Great! Now… he's in a dungeon, so don't move okay? If you do, we might have to stop you," Humble Paradise giggled, but his tone was picked up.
"Oh, I don't know much about games, but that sounded scary," Martial Fist became delighted hearing this. "I'm so glad Thrasher has made friends!"
He giggled before he fell back on the bear and sat down. The next moment, he began imagining what would happen when Thrasher got here.
'Hmmm, they will most likely be decimated to a pulp if I don't help… I should probably help them.'
He then suddenly got a great idea, but he had to wait for Humble Paradise to stop gawking.
"Uhm, yes… we are the best of friends! Wait here so we can tell you some stories."
"Great! However, I think I should help you when he gets here…"
Thrasher's master didn't want his student to get overconfident from his incoming victory. "I also don't like him, and want him to suffer…"
"Ah, which guild are you with?" Humble Paradise replied curiously, "We are always looking for talented droids."
"Uhm, I don't know what a guild is, but it sounds nice!"
He laughed merrily as Humble Paradise could only sigh.
"Ah… it's sort of like a group in a game… However, which real organization are you from… Did they assign you here?"
"Hmmm, I'm not allowed to say," Martial Fist said with an arrogant tone, "If I told you, you'd probably not want to wait with me… We're really nothing special."
"Okay! Well, let me introduce you to the gang!" Humble Paradise smiled to the agreeable man. After that, they walked over to the ten fighting men as Martial Fist gawked at their sub-par technique.
"Wow… you guys are really not bad!" He said.
They could only turn and look at him curiously.
"Let's take care of Thrasher together!"
….
Thrasher walked further and further down the mines.
Three hours passed since he entered, and now he was sure this was the main tunnel.
"Hmm, I knew it wasn't me… I am really blessed with luck," Thrasher said in chat. Purple Monarch, Dream Knight, and Pinnacle Lilly were already up to the second boss in their mines.
"Yup, guild head! Only you'd get the main instance." Purple Monarch replied with a laugh.
This mine instance had fifteen entrances, but one of the mines was reported to be longer than the other ones. Of course, at first, Thrasher just thought he was slow and left a pile of undead bodies behind him.
In fact, it was just five minutes ago that he was puffing nervously before he realized a story on the forums in his head.
"Yup, luckily, I just remembered the forum post from ten years ago… I'm glad I read that post," Thrasher laughed and started taking his time again to walk in the mines.
The post was about a man who found an item that led him to retire in the game. This meant that the item must have been the highest grade of legendary. A legendary item had tiers, and up till now even he only found a tier two legendary item. Of course, this was the highest level of legendary items before, but he had a feeling they might have made a new tier. Actually, Pell's staff was a tier 3 epic staff, which was the reason he was pretty sure about this. Pell's voice then entered his ear drums
"Uhm, well, brother, I'm still faster than you…" She was already almost done with the 2nd boss.
"Hmmm, I guess that means only one steak tonight, Lilly…" He was hoping she'd back off now after saying this. A second later, he heard a whimper.
"No! I promised Dream Knight, you'd cook for all of us! However, why can't we tell her our real names…"
Dream Knight, a second later, buzzed in on the conversation, "You're too cute, Lilly! It's fine, but never in game okay… We'll talk about this after."
"Alright, sister!"
Thrasher could only sigh as he walked towards the chest.
Unfortunately, as he approached, a gigantic monster spawned right in the center of the platform. It looked at him with angered eyes and then immediately drew its long sword.
Defender of Malevolence
Level 43 (Tier 2 Elite)
HP 90,000 / 90,000
MP 5000 / 5000
After seeing its stats, it then pounced forward causing Thrasher to put on his serious face.
"Guys, I'm going to shut off chat now… Please don't tell them stories, Pell."
