________
That morning, Tobias woke up to feel a small figure hugging his back. She was spooning him. Recalling the girl stayed the night, Tobias's expression turned warm when suddenly his expression darkened and stiffened.
There was a certain swelling sensation in his lower abdomen. Drawing in a deep breath, Tobias cautiously lifts the bedsheets, his hands quivering to see the clear strain in his pants.
Fuck.
Tobias curses softly at the sudden realization. He had a boner!
Although this reaction was normal on most mornings, shame had filled him at the current situation.
Mimi was in the bed with him!
As if suddenly grasping this, Tobias's body turned stiff. Being tightly locked by the waist and the girl's face pressed into his back, Tobias felt a type of feeling unconsciously develop. As if his world had been turned upside down.
The girl's soft arms wound around his waist, only inches away from the throbbing and burning erection beneath his pants.
He needed to deal with this without waking her up.
Slowly, Tobias unraveled the blankets. His hands reached out in a cautious motion to unlock Mimi's arms from his waist.
Yet, who would have thought the girl's hold would be so tight!
Meanwhile, Mimi, who had been asleep, sensed the warmth in front of her tried to pull away. Unconsciously, she held on tighter and rubbed her face against his back.
At that moment, Tobias's entire body tensed, a low grunt escaping him.
This wasn't good.
Through clenched teeth, Tobias decided to exert his strength to wrench the girl's arms off before he jumped out of bed and into the bathroom.
When Tobias shut the bathroom door, Mimi's eyes fluttered open and closed again quickly. She tiredly extended her hand out across the bed and found it was still warm. Bright early morning light floods the room, and the man sleeping beside her was no longer to be seen.
Suddenly, her ears perked at the sound of running water.
Mimi unraveled the covers of the bed and slowly blinked her eyes, her expression looking a little dazed. Glancing around the room, she found that she was in Tobias's room.
That's right. She stayed the night.
Mimi shifted her gaze to the sound of running water coming from the bathroom.
Tobias was probably taking a shower.
Stretching her limbs, Mimi slumps back down on the bed, snuggling a pillow. Her eyes stared at the bedroom wall in a daze, her mind completely blank. She recalled the question she asked before drifting off to sleep.
Will Tobias leave her someday?
Out of curiosity and slight moodiness, she asked Tobias that question. Only, she was completely caught off guard by his response.
Mimi continued lying silently in bed, the mere sound of running water humming through her ears. Lifting herself, Mimi stares at the bathroom door a moment longer before standing up to knock on the door softly.
"Tobias, how long are you going to be in there? I'm starting to get hungry!"
There had been silence for a few seconds before he responded.
"Help yourself to any of the food in the fridge until I'm done."
Mimi's eyebrows furrowed a bit.
Why did Tobias's voice sound so hoarse? Was he sick?
She shrugged and considered it was his morning voice. At the thought of eating delicious food, a smile broke out on her face as she strode out of the bedroom and into the kitchen.
…
When Tobias came into the living room, he saw Mimi lounging comfortably on his kitchen counter, munching on a carrot while doing work on her phone.
Hearing the man's footsteps, Mimi shifted her eyes slightly, just enough to see the handsome figure walking her way.
The light coming from the windows shone through the room and his slightly tanned skin glowed, his eyes appearing darker. He was wearing a white shirt, open at the collar, and navy blue flannel pants that hang from his hips.
His unruly black hair is still damp from a shower.
The man's strong jaw perfectly accentuated his face, and his thin lips were pressed firmly together in an impassive expression.
Walking around the counter without meeting her eyes, Tobias grabbed himself a mug from a cabinet. He looked down for a moment, pouring himself the already made coffee from the counter and bringing the warm drink to his lips.
Mimi's eyebrows rose while she chomped on her carrot.
"Morning," She waved the carrot in her hand.
Tobias finally shifts his gaze to meet the girl's bright, grinning violet eyes.
"Good morning," His voice was slightly deeper than usual.
Mimi grinned and leaned her body closer to the counter.
"Indeed it is." Her eyes examined the man's morning physique.
His black hair, which glistens in the morning light illuminating from the large windows, was messy and his face was carefully structured.
It was as if God had molded him just to spoil her eyes!
Sensing her heated stare, Tobias's gaze was impassive, giving nothing away.
He cleared his throat. "What would you like for breakfast?"
"Hmm…" Mimi hummed softly to herself, thinking carefully. "Can you make pancakes?"
Tobias nodded. At this, Mimi's lips curled into a joyous grin.
"Then I'll take a set of pancakes to go please, gorgeous sir!"
Tobias softened his gaze and nodded his head. He turned his broad back to her and started prepping the ingredients. With his face out of view, Mimi missed the clenched jaw and the troubled expression on his face.
It wasn't long before the sweet scent of freshly cooked pancakes wafted through the room. Mimi took a bite of the sweet and syrupy pancakes.
She paused as if her thoughts had stopped entirely, "It tastes so good!"
When seeing the girl's pleased expression, Tobias smiles while sipping his coffee and reading his emails. While Mimi chews, she glances at the attractive man beside her and suddenly frowns.
She swallowed her food before asking, "Tobias, why don't you ever eat breakfast?"
"Not hungry." Tobias sipped his coffee.
Her frown deepens. She looks at the table where she spots on the side a basket of fresh bread rolls with jelly and butter.
Picking up a knife, Mimi applied profuse amounts of thick, creamy golden butter and spooned out a dollop of sweet, tangy blackberry jelly. Mimi slathered the sweet mixture onto the ripped white bread and elevated it up to Tobias's face.
"I know you're not hungry, but at least try this and tell me it's not the best taste ever!"
Tobias blinks at her in surprise and swallows. He hesitates for a moment; his black eyes cool.
"Okay," he murmurs cautiously.
Slowly, he leaned over, his thin lips parting open. The girl's fingers unconsciously brushed against his lips as she put the piece of bread into his mouth.
It was soft and warm. The pleasant smoothness of the butter blended thoroughly with the bittersweet taste of blackberries.
However, Tobias was unable to focus on the delicious taste in his mouth, his eyes locked on the girl across from him.
Up close, Mimi's skin looked even more tender and soft, like the skin of a fresh peach. With eyes as deep as the ocean, he took in every little expression of hers with deep eyes. Realizing his mind wandered off, he averted his gaze and coughed.
"Isn't it sweet?" Mimi's bright voice suddenly broke him from his thoughts.
Tobias's black eyes flash toward her again, and his mouth sets in a grim line.
"It's sweet." He mutters softly.
"Taste good?" Mimi's lips quirk up.
Tobias holds back a swallow and nods his head gently.
"Do you want some more?"
"I'm good." He murmurs, his voice cautious again as he leans away from her.
Shrugging her shoulders, Mimi takes a bite into her pancakes, unaware of the inner turmoil within the handsome man's heart.
