In her apartment, Mimi sat with folded legs on her bed browsing the internet, a deep look etched across her face. After a brief moment of dazed silence, her fingers moved to type in a set of letters.
'Shen…Jue.'
Entering search, Mimi was stunned, her movements freezing for a moment before her face contorted into one of displeasure.
"What the hell…"
This guy was more popular than she was?! And how come she's never heard anything about him until now?
As Mimi scrolled through numerous fan pages and women's media websites, her expression turned worse and worse until she caught sight of a business article. The moment Mimi opened the site, her eyes widened.
"Oh, what's this?" Her eyes deepened.
The site showed Shen Jue and her father chatting with one another. A rare, pleasing smile could be seen on her father's face as Shen Jue returned one in response.
The article was rather lengthy, but Mimi took the time to read through it, her eyes scanning for crucial information. She managed to read the entire article and went silent with an overcast expression - her mind immersing into deep thoughts.
In short, the article wrote about her father and Shen Jue's company collaborating. After a seven-year project his father created, they finally put it into action once Shen Jue returned abroad - acquiring his father's company.
This was all planned during the time of her sister's death.
Mimi's eyes narrowed. This had all seemed to be too coincidental.
What exactly was Shen Jue planning? Was he an enemy or a possible comrade?
Mimi's brain wracked over all the possible outcomes and reasons but ended up with nothing. She let out a long sigh.
The hell! Whenever it came to that sadist's mind, she could never know what he was thinking!
He was almost as worse as the expressionless Tobias Itou…
After a slight pause, Mimi's expression went from silent to fierce. She puckered her lips and released a small huff.
No! It was an insult, a sin to even compare the two! Tobias and Shen Jue were like heaven and good for nothing dirt that had been stepped on repeatedly!
Mimi glanced back at the screen and glared hatefully at an image of Shen Jue who was smiling at the camera. Her brow twitched.
Why did it feel like he was mocking her?
Staring at his face even longer, Mimi's frown deepened. "Hmph, how irritating."
Her fingers slowly tapped on her folded knee in deep thought. Suddenly, a flash lit up across her eyes and a wicked smile curled up on her lips.
"My, my, why didn't I think of this before?" Mimi snickered to herself.
Humming happily, Mimi closes her laptop and hops off her bed to get ready for bed.
…
In a certain corner at Glory Trade Corporation, a dark figure stood. Those walking by felt chills run down their spines and quickly walked by, hoping to be spared from the evil figure. Some even heard murmured obscenities as if the person was chanting a curse!
Needless to say, everyone was familiar with this figure and recognized her as the company's tech department, Mimi.
Even though they were all used to her appearance, that hadn't meant they were comfortable with her presence.
One could always tell whenever she entered the room if the room had suddenly felt colder, dropping down a few degrees. Or when someone had food in the room. It was if the girl was a gluttonous ghost haunting the company!
Meanwhile, on Mimi's side, she silently stood behind a wall, and watched the woman, a few feet away from her.
When she entered the company that day, Mimi made it a goal to find the person she was looking for and to follow them the whole day!
However, unexpectedly she was unable to find them. Too lazy to look around the whole company and seek help, Mimi pulled out her phone and looked through the companies cameras she accessed from Tobias.
After a while, her eyes lit up seeing the familiar woman. The woman was none other than Senior Su.
Although Mimi could easily find Shen Jue herself and observe him, she didn't want to draw any suspicion toward herself and put herself on his radar. Mimi herself was unsure of how high skilled Shen Jue was and didn't want to take any risks.
Therefore, tracking Senior Su's movements for the time being and seeing her connections to Shen Jue seemed like the best option…for now at least.
Now standing behind a wall and watching Senior Su, Mimi found herself becoming bored. Maybe she could snatch Senior Su's phone and look through her contacts and find Shen Jue's…
While Mimi was immersed in her thoughts, she suddenly felt a warm, ticklish breath against her ear.
"What are you doing?"
"Eh?"
Mimi turned her head around only to find herself an inch apart from a familiar gorgeous face. Flashing her eyes dramatically, Mimi stared up at his face and let out a beaming smile.
"Toby!"
As the words left her mouth, she immediately clamped her mouth shut and remembered the setting they were in. Returning to her formal, dull expression, Mimi glances back up at Tobias and nods her head.
"Cough, Mr. Itou."
Tobias stared down at the girl and his eyes softened as he watched her expressions change from bright to cold. The man's tall body was dressed in a black trench coat, covering his white-collar shirt and black tie. Mimi admired the man's appearance and sighed.
Only a few inches apart, Mimi gulped as she could distinguish the outline of the man's muscles underneath his shirt. She could only imagine what he looked like without the shirt.
Mimi sighed bitterly to herself and could only comfort herself as she knew such a day may never happen.
Tobias watched as the girl released a bitter sigh as she stared at his shirt with longing. He could vaguely guess her thoughts and sighed lightly before glancing up in the direction of where the girl was peeping. When he didn't see anyone there, his eyebrow raised.
"Are you looking for someone?"
"Huh?" Confused, Mimi turned back and her eyes widened. "Eh? No way, she's gone?"
Mimi frowned and scoured the area before finding Senior Su's familiar back outside of the building. With glittering eyes, she didn't hesitate to follow after her.
While speeding to catch up with Senior Su, Mimi had briefly forgotten about Tobias. When she suddenly remembered the man, she turned around but was startled to discover him following quietly behind her with long, relaxed strides.
"Ah, Toby, are you following me?"
"En."
Mimi paused and scratched her head. "Don't you have work?"
"I have time." Tobias calmly responded.
He had time? The man was president of some of the biggest companies in the country running a few other businesses in the city and he had time?
Noticing she didn't seem convinced, Tobias glanced behind him and spoke in a low voice. "Clear my schedule for the day."
Only until Tobias looked behind him did Mimi notice the young man standing behind him. The young man with the appearance of an otter was none other than Juno, Tobias's secretary.
Juno nodded his head at his bosses order and quickly looked down at the device in his hand to type something.
Tobias looked back at Mimi and strode toward her. He stood before her with his usual vacant, dark eyes staring down at her, but Mimi for a brief moment detected a spark of tease.
"Shall we go then? You don't want to miss her, do you?" His voice was low and dark yet it carried a subtle warmth.
Astonished, Mimi glanced up at Tobias and her eyebrows furrowed. Even though she couldn't understand the reason for him wanting to join her on her little chase, she didn't think much of it. If anything, this made it more fun!
Mimi smiled and giggled softly. "Mm, let's go."
Tobias nodded and turned to Juno again. "Get the car. It'll be easier to follow her."
"Yes, sir."
After Tobias delivered out orders to Juno, he turned and walked past Mimi. Glancing at his back, dumfounded, Mimi's lips unknowingly curled into and a soft smile.
Without question, he did what she wanted and followed her through it all. Her smile turned bitter.
"This man...He's such an idiot."
