"It's my fault."
Everyone was surprised as they heard what Mimi said.
No way…was she actually apologizing?
Compared to everyone's shocked expression, Eli looked at Mimi with furrowed brows.
His eyes squinted. "What do you mean? What was your fault?"
Mimi glanced at him, then replied expressionlessly, "I realized my careless actions have caused a disturbance to everyone else's work."
Mimi turned to look at Senior Su, her eyes revealing a hidden glint. "Thank you, Senior Su, for pointing out my wrong-doings. To please everyone, I'll spend my free time in a non-work environment. Once again, I apologize and hope everyone can continue to work hard."
With that, Mimi stood up from her seat and walked out. While walking out, her eyes met with Senior Su's and a concealed smirk appeared on her lips as she watched the woman's shocked expression.
She didn't get to see the expression she wanted, but that'll do…for now.
As Mimi left, everyone watched her in stunned silence. Suddenly, they felt a sense of guilt while watching the gothic girl's lonely figure.
Mimi hadn't only been mature about the situation, but she praised them on their hard work. These actions of hers naturally bettered everyone's view on her.
"I feel kind of bad. Truthfully, she wasn't too much of a distraction…" A male employee mumbled.
"Yeah, I agree. I was just surprised by her actions really."
"Me too! Besides, if it came down to it, I probably would've asked her to leave nicely."
The employee's comments caused Senior Su's fists to clench.
Why…Why was it whenever she tried to help it slapped her back in the face?
While Senior Su was lost in her own thoughts, she had missed the disappointed expression of Eli Sato.
Sighing, Eli looked at the employees with a strict expression. "Alright, everyone, time to get back to work. We still have a lot to get done."
Everyone bobbed their heads and turned to look back at their computer screens with intense eyes.
"Senior Su, may I speak to you privately?"
"Huh? Oh um, yes."
The two walked out of the office and outside to a private corner.
Eli cut to the chase and asked, "Do you have something against Ms. Mimi?"
Senior Su was stunned. She was unable to put her feelings into words under Eli's piercing stare.
Clenching her fists, Senior Su's expression was calm, almost wooden. "No, of course not. Why would you assume such a thing?"
Eli sighed, "Meilin, I'm not an idiot. It's clear to me you don't like her. Why else would you always try to start something with her?"
Senior Su's face grew red, "I'm doing my job! Do you expect me to let her be a nuisance to the company just because she has Mr. Itou's backing or because she's a genius? We have rules, this isn't a playground."
"You're right it's not. Which is why I don't tolerate bullying either."
"W-What are you talking about? I told you I was only…"
"Meilin!" Eli snapped.
Senior Su bit down on her bottom lip toward his snap. Noting her hurt expression, Eli's expression eased and a weary sigh escaped him.
"I understand you're doing your job, but I'm warning you, don't do anything beyond the role of a superior again. This is your last warning."
With those words, Eli turned and left, leaving Senior Su alone, her head lowered.
"Do you really think that lowly of me?" She whispered sadly.
