"What's going on here?" A deep voice carefully traced with concern spoke.
Inwardly chuckling at the man's on time moment, Mimi shifts her vacant gaze towards the tall man approaching the two.
His lightly shaded blond hair and green eyes burst under the glistening light, the man's graceful figure was covered in a plain pale button-up shirt and dark black pants.
"What happened?" Eli Sato asked once more, his noble brows furrowing at the scene before him.
In front of him was Mimi who's dark clothes were drenched in what he could reasonably assume was coffee and a young woman with her disheveled hair and a bright red mark on her cheek planted onto the floor.
The situation although needlessly complicated wasn't hard to piece together…
"Mr. Sato thank goodness you're here!" The woman suddenly began crying pitifully.
With severely shaking legs the woman stands up from the floor, her facial expression revealing a pitiful appearance and a few tears streaming down her bruised cheeks, smearing her makeup.
"I had accidentally spilled coffee onto her, and afterward she slapped me twice!" The woman sobbed uncontrollably.
"..."
Everyone surrounding the wicked woman was speechless. Had she no shame? Was she really playing the victim card here after everything that had just gone down?
Clearly, not falling for the pitiful maiden act, Eli scrunched up his eyebrows while looking uneasily at Mimi who merely stared at the two with a dainty hand on her hip - a gentle hint of amusement shining gloriously in her eyes.
"Ms. Mimi mind explaining what happened here?" Eli asked grimly.
The woman widened her anxious eyes at Eli's obvious disregard towards her words as he had directly looked towards Mimi for an answer.
She couldn't help but harshly bite onto her bottom lip while glaring hatefully at Mimi.
This little bitch! She was ruining everything for her! She should have gotten rid of her from the start.
Looking at the woman's murderous glare, Mimi merely stares at her with pure indifference, however, her marvelous eyes were traced with mischief.
"What she said is true," Mimi spoke plainly.
Eli, along with the woman and everyone else was naturally surprised by her words. Eli who hadn't known of the situation was surprised for Mimi to admit to doing something so shameless and violent.
As for everyone they were shocked due to Mimi lying about what had truly taken place.
Was she intentionally trying to cover up for the woman? They clearly didn't owe one another anything, in fact, the two could be undoubtedly considered enemies.
No matter the reason everyone was dissatisfied once they noted the woman's smug smile.
"Exactly! Why would I lie about something so serious Mr. Sato?" Once again the woman cried pitifully.
Everyone couldn't help stare uneasily at the woman with plain disgust at her actions. Just as a few were about to voice their personal dissatisfaction, Mimi suddenly spoke.
"Oh? But you seemed to have forgotten a few other bits," Mimi tilted her lovely head with a faint smile. "If I fondly remember correctly didn't you request me to pay you for you 'accidentally' spilling coffee onto me?"
Typically emphasizing the word accidentally, Mimi watched as the woman's visible expression shaded a glowing red.
Eli clearly confused why Mimi who was unmistakably the one who had coffee spilled on her had to pay.
Was the woman that dumb? Or did she purposely cause trouble Mimi in the confident hope of bullying here?
The obvious answer was clear to him as he coldly gazed at the woman's pitiful appearance.
"Ms. Cheng, as a senior do you really think it's appropriate to leave something out to your boss towards something serious and even ask your junior for money when you were clearly in the wrong?" Eli said with his serene smile coldly.
The woman felt chills run down her spine as she noticed the dark glare of Eli Sato. A man that was said to always be carefree and giddy was smiling at her, yet his smiles caused her to tremble in fear.
"I-I…" The woman stuttered.
"Don't be mad at her Mr. Sato, after all, it's not completely her fault." Mimi sighed helplessly. "If I was paying more attention, I would have noticed her walking in my direction."
Seeing a way out, the woman's eyes brightened evilly.
"Yes! She's right! It's not my fault completely!" Ms. Cheng bobbed her head vigorously.
"However…" Mimi trailed off. "Because of both of our apparent carelessness, I'm afraid the Honoshino group information you forwarded to me to give to Corporate was destroyed by the coffee."
Looking down at the polished floor with a helpless expression, Mimi twiddles with her slender fingers. Once Mimi uttered those words, everyone's jaws dropped instantly.
"Ah...is that so?" Eli furrowed his brows clearly showing how grave the situation was. "We'll properly discuss that later. I'll speak to Corporate about it, but for now, we naturally need to get you a set of new clothes or you'll catch a cold."
Once more, everyone was completely dumbfounded. From both their words, what Mimi had said was true!
Ms. Cheng's face instantly paled as she regarded their exchange, this meant she really was responsible for the loss of such important files.
And also...her life would be ruined! Her body suddenly broke out into fits of trembles as she imagined her disastrous future. She could only hope the company would go easy on her possibly.
Seeing everyone's shocked expressions Eli arched his brows but also couldn't help but frown at their actions. They had all been there from the beginning watching the scene unfold yet had let it reach such a critical point. This was clearly disappointing behavior for Glory Trade Corporation employees.
"Considering this incident, I have to say I'm quite disappointed in all those watching. I'd expect better from elite employees such as yourself." Eli announced with a displeased expression.
Everyone hearing his words couldn't help but lower their heads in shame and guilt. What he said was reasonable.
They truly didn't behave appropriately towards the situation, eagerly getting too caught up in the situation and their personal feelings.
This incident would most likely affect how the higher-ups perceive them as 'capable' employees. They couldn't allow that to happen!
Unknown to Eli, his words and their actions had made them all more motivated to prove themselves as reliable employees of such an excellent company!
Ignoring their expressions, Eli calmly walked Mimi towards the elevator while also ordering a few nearby staff to clean up the mess, when she suddenly stopped in her tracks to turn towards the woman.
"Don't forget to keep your promise," Mimi said.
Suddenly, remembering Mimi's previous words regarding the Honoshino files, the woman's face turned sour.
"B-But, I never agreed to it!" Ms. Cheng shrieked.
"Silence instantly means consent." Mimi bluntly spoke before diverting her direct gaze away from the woman's pathetic appearance.
Mimi couldn't help but inwardly shake her head at the foolish woman. Graciously allowing her to resign from the company early truly would reasonably be considered a life-saving favor.
Yet instead she was too prideful to recognize anything and could only blame herself for her reckless actions and foolish traits that led her to such a disastrous fate.
Intentionally allowing the woman to leave the company before they forcibly dragged her out was the least she could to do to aid her.
After all, it would be considered a thank you in Mimi's book.
Since she had graciously satisfied Mimi with such a pleasant show along with the overwhelming feeling of wicked deeds being succeeded, the least she could do was allow the woman to escape while she still could.
As Mimi was giggling up a storm inside, her mild expression had remained tranquil and cold.
Eli who stood beside her had carefully pressed the elevator button to the top floor.
"The top floor?" Mimi suddenly asked as she typically distinguished his actions.
"Yup," Eli awkwardly laughed scratching the back of his neck. "To be honest, I wouldn't have known what happened if President Itou hadn't ordered me to go down there."
Mimi couldn't prevent her dull eyes from widening.
Tobias sent him?
A faint smile instantly formed on Mimi's luscious lips as she thought of the unfeeling indifferent man.
Because he couldn't go there in person, rather than sending Juno, he chose Eli to go in his stead to not create unwanted attention towards her regarding her connections with him.
"He was quite intense when he ordered me," Eli said with a crooked smile. "I have to say I've never seen the big boss so scary."
"Really?" Mimi arched her brows trying her best to conceal her amusement.
A delighted giggle almost escaped Mimi's gentle lips as she pictured the man's icy intense expression.
Unknown to Mimi as she had been happily picturing the reserved and aloof man, she was unaware of the dangers that awaited her when the two would meet face to face.
