Chapter 46 - Set Her In Her Place

Eli's face gradually began to instantly form into an expression of grave displeasure. He, a man who took interest in unique and virtuous things couldn't help but begin to see Mimi in a new light.

And it wasn't any good.

Based on the words he had been hearing about her lack of interest in work and laziness, he could also detect her indifference towards him as her boss.

She clearly was thinking lowly of him.

"Ms. Mimi, don't expect that because you hold a powerful backing you can say whatever you want. Ultimately, I am, nevertheless, your boss."

Detecting Eli's change in tone and the change of aura surrounding the room, Mimi arched her brows - an amused smile forming on her lips.

Seems like she hit a nerve…

"I merely spoke the truth." She said bluntly not breaking eye contact. "If you're to continue to listen to mere rumors and meaningless words from your employees, you won't make it far,"

"Ms. Mimi!" Eli snapped with a warning.

Although his interest in her was previously piqued, he couldn't let her think she could merely do what she wanted.

Someone who relied on someone else's power to get where they wanted could only be labeled as someone Eli took no interest in and could only dislike.

"Ms. Mimi, if you don't show me any improvements in your attitude and work in the next few days, then I'll have no choice but to let you go. No matter your possible connections." Eli declared fiercely with a firm expression.

He had to set her in her place.

Mimi arched her brows at Eli's words. The man who had always been carefree and smiling could also be strict and serious when the time came.

Previously, Mimi was wondering when he'd speak out on her actions. She wanted to test him and his capabilities.

To her disappointment, after two weeks, he hadn't spoken of anything.

This kind of boss to Mimi wasn't someone she could rely on. If he feared standing up to one due to their connections and background then he was no better than a coward and sorry excuse of a leader.

Not only would this show poor leadership, but it'd also affect the rest of his employees. When one allowed a weak leader, his devoted followers will be even weaker.

Sometimes a person needed a little shove.

He naturally had in the end proven himself to be quite the serious type when he was forcefully pushed into a corner she discovered.

Mimi inwardly smiled in proper approval towards his appropriate actions.

Although she would have chosen a different more brutal method to convince her employees to perform their work - of course taking action much sooner, he had nonetheless grasped things into action.

Placing on a faint smile on her plump red lips, Mimi hums in approval.

"If Mr. Sato says I'm not doing enough work, then I guess I'll need to work harder if I'm to maintain this job." Mimi lightly sighed while resting back in her chair.

Flashing his eyes a few times, Eli stared at Mimi blankly with disbelief.

That was it? That's all he needed to say?

He had assumed she would be angry but if anything she was smiling, and even look pleased with his words!

In all honesty, Eli expected her to threaten him with her connections with their big boss, but in the end, she had merely agreed and began to work at a brisk pace.

He hadn't seemed to realize Mimi's dislike of relying on others power to use against others to bid her will.

She was shameless but not that shameless…

She'd never reach that low, not like her demon of a father.

He couldn't help but undoubtedly find the girl's aura to change as she instantly turned towards her computer typing away rapidly.

To his genuine surprise, she had begun reading attentively through the stack of papers on her polished desk, carefully placing them on the side in swift movements after she typed something into the computer.

This was undoubtedly beyond his reasonable expectations! He didn't think with just a few proper warnings she'd work so briefly.

Seeing as Eli hadn't left and continued to stare at her, Mimi looked up from her screen with irritation.

"Mr. Sato, if you have nothing else to say then please close the door on your way out." She said impatiently with her dull tone once more.

"Ah...right!" Eli straightens his back unconsciously.

Turning around, Eli heads towards the door his hand pausing midway from the doorknob, before he willingly turns to look thoughtfully at Mimi who had gone over almost half of the towering stacks of paper - her expression unreadable but her jeweled eyes sparked with light.

A brilliant flash of something unknown flashed within his green eyes as he observed her working so diligently. He then opened the door, departing from her office.

Standing with his back facing against the front of the door, Eli gently leans his head back releasing light fits of pleasant laughter. A wide grin spread across his thin lips.

That girl sure was interesting…
