During the Dark Age, Osric was a well-known racist. He had always thought races other than the High Elves to be inferior and fit only to serve as the High Elves' slaves. The Elven Helios Hollisas Dalisma and that human royal from the Rotterdam who had gotten to where he was because of his wife all had many grudges against Osric. If not for the suppression of the High Elven Queen Azshara, Osric would have killed them personally.
Moreover, at the end of the Dark Age, humans were the main force in the over that overthrew the High Elves's rule. The extinction of the High Elves could be attributed to the massacre the humans conducted. Thus, it could be said that the only way to resolve the hatred between the two races was for one of them to perish.
