Chapter 1 - Prologue

"It's not easy being a Fallen, especially in a world where the Cigam have shown the world the power of magic, most mortals saw no use in praying to us any longer, the major Gods survived of course, but the rest of us weren't so lucky, a mere wind sprite goddess like myself was one of the first to fall, and here I am two hundred years later, the last of the Fallen, better to survive than be noticed wouldn't you agree?" said Tamorin Haro.

She sat wearing a black dress and sneakers, seated on the edge of a balcony looking down upon the city Anneheim Weiv, mage territory, some of its buildings dark others with some windows shinning light, the street lights illuminating the streets below.

"A seismic shift approaches, one big enough to get all of them together, to make them all shake in their boots, the mages, witches, necros and warlocks all scrambling to understand HIM. In all honesty I do hope he causes chaos, perhaps the mortals will pray once more." Whispered Macinios his white robe dancing slightly in the gentle breeze that blows, his face expressionless

"Oh come on Maci, you never fell, sure the lack of prayers shook you up and our home Zalliano crumbled a little but you're still up there and it's still standing," said Tamorin reaching up toward the night sky with a pained expression.

"You say that as though you miss Zalliano, you hardly were ever there in the old days," Said Macinios

"Hardly isn't never brother, I always returned home," said Tamorin turning her head to make eye contact with Macinios

The two fall silent, the sounds of the city below the only thing breaking the silence between them.

"Do you blame them, the Cigam?" asked Macinios

Tamorin sighed deeply and hopped off the balcony but instead of plummeting ten stories she hung in the air with her back turned, "No I blame us, or rather you and Kriel and Qrav and Lassifuss and Junnie, you all got bored and created magic and let it loose on everything down here without knowing what would happen. And now here we are the five big guns and one little pisto which is mel, you may as well have been everyone who butchered my friends for whatever power they had left, brother when we fell we thought you and the other bigs would come but you never did. I have one reason for wanting to come home now." Said Tamorin

"And what might that be, Tamorin." Asks Macinios after having been silent for a moment

Tamorin turned around using the wind to spin herself slowly, her expression as calm as the gentlest of summer rains but her eyes filled with a murderous rage

"To take all your heads of course. But seeing as you're here." she said simply

Tamorin seemingly pulled a katana out of the air itself and attacked swinging in a wide stroke toward Macinios who is forced to dodge by shooting himself up into the air in an instant.

"Did you really love her that much sister? Nirvinia." He said his expressionless face unchanging but his voice laced with a tone that suggests he would have had a smirk if hr could have one.

"DO NOT SPEAK HER NAME!" with her right hand Tamorin launched herself toward Macinios, gripping her katana tight with both hands she took yet another swing.

Macinios did not attempt to dodge, instead choosing to catch Tamorin's katana in his right hand with a tight grip instantly shattering it as though it were made of glass.

"You forget your place, you forget that the air is mine." Whisped Macinios with such malice Tamorin's anger quickly turned to fear and she found her hands shaking.

"You are weaker than I anticipated sister, even their weakest could take your life." With that Macinios disappeared into the wind leaving Tamorin alone.

She had never felt as helpless as she did in that moment, not even after the fall.

I need to find HIM.

She thought to herself as she descended to the alleyway below.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jeager Namero found himself breathing heavily and taking a swing of whiskey from his flask, thinking to himself that he was getting old standing in a dimly lit abandoned factory office, the man hanging from the ceiling using invisible links, sobbing uncontrollably is one that owes him something. and Jeager was about to collect, an intimidating man naturally with his muscular fighter build bulging from the either side of a black t shirt and gray dungaree worksuit, and a massive beard covering most of his face as well as a messy mop of hair.

Replacing his flask in his pocket he turned to the man hanging from the ceiling.

"Jimmy, how's t'e family?" He said speaking in a booming voice and smiling

"I can get you the Kilsers man, just don't hurt me." Said Jimmy, pleading

"Bit late for tha' wouldn't ye say?"

"I only 'ave one policy lad, don't fuck wit' me when it comes to me Kilsers." Said Jeager balling a fist and planting firmly in Jimmy's gut, which caused him to regurgitate the entirely of his lunch on the floor.

"He's out you know." Came Tamorin's voice from behind Jeager

"May 'ave hit 'im wit' The Forge." said Jeager examining Jimmy's face in his hand brfore pulling out a revolver from his pocket placing it against Jimmy's head and pulling the trigger.

Jeager's attention turned to Tamorin who was standing in the dimly lit room in her black dress, a look of determination on her face, Jeager stared at her apprehensively as he took another swing from her flask

"I toht we had a talk abou' this Tammy, trackin' me wit' tha' air manipulation shite," Said Jeager

"I didn't have a choice, I need it now." Said Tamorin quietly

Jeager sighed and took a deeper swing of his flask.

"Tammy, ye need to let it go, ye only seek to get ye'self-----." said Jeager

"I confronted Macinios tonight, he shattered Oleana, I can't take them. Not without it." Said Tamorin pleading with Jeager as she stepped toward him

"If I make it for ye, I blow me cover, and suddenly I exist again, I'm perfectly fine wit' being a arm's dealer and killing lads and lasses that owe me Kilsers every now and then, keeps The Forge active no eyes fall on me." Said Jeager as he attempted to discourage Tamorin

"Jeager---"

"Aye Tam, fuck ye for this. Seek me in a month I'll have it ready."

With that Jeager exited the dimly lit office leaving Tamorin alone.

"Don't you get tired of following me Philly?" Said Tamorin smiling and exiting the office plunging herself into the darkness, ahead of her the factory double doors letting in moonlight from outside.

"It's fun, sometimes you know I'm there, sometimes you don't." Comes the voice of the young 5th Phillipa leader of the Warlock Cigam.

Tamorin stepped outside into the full view of the moonlight, the only source of light for 50 Seles until the nearest residential area. Next to her materialised the form petite form of the 5th Phillipa Warlock leader, dressed in a tailored emerald pants suit her half length staff held infront of her, her emerald tinted hair arranged neatly along the front of her suit, her face youthful, although she was in her 40s.

"Heck of a time you chose to do this." Said Phillipa her gaze held by the moon

"Your lackies are looking for you know, caught it in the wind when i went over your territory the other night." Said Tamorin

"They're always looking for me, that's most of the fun, playing hide and seek, and the only thing they really is to put me in a chair with the other Cigam leaders and discuss what to do about whatever the new player is."

"I know you're not one for chairs and sitting." Said Tamorin snotting and nudging Phillipa lightly

"I found him you know." Said Phillipa disregarding the playful gesture

Phillipa opens her mouth and shuts finding herself at a loss for words to describe the new magical force.

"I don't know," said Phillipa slowly, "He's shrouded in a shadow all the time. I thought about assassinating him and putting an end to it, but I couldn't, he's unlike anything that's ever had magic, he let an inkling loose around him, my entire body turned to liquid."

"Oh?" Said Tamorin an eyebrow raised in curiosity

"Don't think about it Tam." Said Phillipa

Tamorin smiled one of her mischievous smiles.

"How did you find him then?." Asked Tamorin

Phillipa smiled, "I have my ways."

The two women stand silently for a moment staring into the darkness all around them.

"I'll see you around Tamorin, try to not get yourself killed until then, I'd hate to lose an immortal Goddess friend." Said Phillipa before tapping her staff on the ground and disappearing in a small flash of Emerald.

Tamorin sighed, with a slightly saddened expression.

"I can't promise you that, kid." She said. Floating into the air and flying away

The darkness of night covered him like blanket as he stood on the edge of a hill looking out at Brekka-dalr in a country where warriors once ran wild and strong praising him Jeager the god of arms. Fitting as he himself was dressed for war, in armour he had not put on let alone laid eyes on for the longest time. He wore a hard leather plate armour strapped tight around his waist, armoured pants to match, a pair of silver plated knee pads in the shape of small shields perfect for loosening teeth. A pair of bullet belts crossing over each other strapped to the belt, and his guns or 'girls' as he called them Lucy and Anna sat in their holsters by his left and right thighs. He wore most favourite pair of boots that had the most subtle lining of slight running along the shin. And last but certainly not least Rathgar his sword strapped to his back, guns are good but a good blade is better.

The bottle of rum in hand was already half gone. He was drunk yea, but not nearly drunk enough. A moon had come and gone since Tamorin had asked him to make this thing that now sat at his feet on the ground, he knew she would find him she always did.

He stared at the bottle for a moment before he brought it to his lips and drained it. A dissatisfied grunt left him before I can stop it as he threw away the bottle.

His gaze lowered down to the long slender, smooth dark wood box on the ground containing the item he had made for her.

"TAMORIN!" I bellowed bellowes suddenly.

"Never were the patient one were you brother?" She said

He turned to see Tamorin descend from the sky and land quietly on the ground. Her form being weaved out of the air itself.

She had a black hooded cloak on over loose fitting dark pants and a shirt and light boots. She did liked to wear loose fitting clothing when she went to pick a fight, never was one for armour.

A lantern was being kept afloat by her on her right side.

Jeager's eyes narrowed in annoyance as he glared at Tamorin for a moment, nursing a tongue lashing in his mouth for making him wait. He decided against it and crouched down picked up the box and extended it to her.

A breath of relief left her chest as soon she saw that Jeager was dressed for a fight, of course she was willing to go alone but Jeager was someone you wanted for something like this.

She approached him and was dwarfed by his size as soon as she stood in front of him. She could feel Jeager's eyes on her without needing to look up, he was trying to read her. But she gave nothing away.

Slowly she ran her slender hands over the the smooth wooden surface tentatively as though afraid it might spontaneously combust.

Unclipping the latch on either side she opened it to reveal a sleek sword in a sheath resting on smooth velvet cloth, a slight glow came from a blue gem embedded in the guard illuminating her face. She's in there, your power's there isn't it Nirvinia, she thought.

It had a short golden hilt, a one handed blade it was and as she had come to know Jeager she knew the blade inside that sheath would be a beauty. But what caught my eye was the pommel, a beautiful a near perfect sculpturing of Nirvinia's face that stopped her heart for a moment. Jeager had even got the way her hair always seemed as though it were jaggedly cut short with a dull blade.

A single tear rolled down her cheek.

"Well, are ye' gonna jus' stare at it til' sun comes up then?" Said Jeager, snapping her back from her admiration

The moment her hand gripped the thing a surge of power made it ways through her body, touching every nerve it went past. She gripped the sheath with her left hand, Jeager stepped back to give me space.

She unsheathed the sword tossing aside the sheath and holding it aloft in front her. A fine blade indeed. 70 centimetres long. And oh so light. The balance supporting her perfectly as though it were an extension of her very arm. Nirvinia I can touch you again, she thought.

He could tell Tamorin was feeling it, the surge of pulsating power that came from that blade even before she unsheathed it. And she began to move. And as always she was graceful, every slash and jab, flawless. Her footwork, impeccable. The way she moved her body, twisting it when needed, switching the blade from hand to hand. She moved with that sword as though it were a dance.

She stopped and sheathed the blade and then turned to face him, her face was full of joy and amazement.

And Before he could protest or stop her she wrapped her small frame around Jeager's large body. Reluctantly he wrapped single arm around her.

"Thank you for bringing her back to me Jeager." She said her voice cracking, he needn't to look down to know tears are rolling down her eyes.

"Aye, Tam." He said feeling a strange sense of fulfilment.

She released him and wiped her tears.

"Buy you a drink?" She asked with a mischievous smile

"A drink ye say, ye owe me a bottle for being late. 'nd another for the road."

"A steep price you're pushing there brother."

"Seven bottles drunk is a piss poor way to die for the god o' arms. Meet ye at the bottom." He said

He walked over and jumped down the cliff.
