"System activated…. Calibrating stat window of host…"
At this moment, Zang Wei saw the stat window pop up in front of him.
Zang Wei l Age 15 l Cultivation level : Undefined l Spiritual Roots: Ten divinities spiritual roots (peak)
Strength: 5
Vitality: 20
Agility: 5
Defense: 5
Magic Defense: 10
Captures: None
Capture tokens: 1
Capture spaces available: 2.
Zang Wei saw this and then had a question,
"Uhm, system… can you talk by any chance?"
"Ding! System is unable to communicate in any emotional way. However, it has a reasonable data base provided by the Lolli goddess. It can answer any questions as long as host asks the right question."
Zang Wei nodded his head. The voice of the system was inside his head, and the stats window was in his vision. It was a small window that was like a pebble in the ocean of sand. However, he could read it easily even as the sand storm started picking up.
"Uhm, so… do you happen to know where we are," Zang Wei asked, "If I knew how long we had to walk for, that would really help."
"Ding! Host is in uninhabited desert of Zambardia. It is recommended to walk fast before a demon beast arrives. This area is also the favorite route of the merchants who specialize in slaves. At hosts current power level there is a chance he could be made a slave, a servant, or even a gigilo…"
Zang Wei gulped and responded worriedly, "So… I guess towards the sun it is then… Those slave traders aren't around, system, are they?"
In the background, Zang Wei didn't notice that two men were flying through the sky. They were cultivators past the threshold of mortality, and they were both hoping to find somewhere private to fight.
They were looking for a good location, and after finding an oasis, they flew a few more miles and arrived around Zang Wei. He was right below them, but they were so high up in the air that he didn't hear their banter.
"Hmph, you little snot nosed brat! If you didn't steal my longevity pill, my daughter would still be alive!"
"Ha, you're still mad about something that took place a 1000 years ago? Why don't you take one of your many wives and make a new daughter? Also, are you really this weak, old man?"
The man could only laugh before he took off a necklace around his neck. "Hah, you'll feel my power soon enough, you little whipper snapper! I'm going to show you what true power is!"
Both of the men were flying on swords, and one of them started growing wings out of his back. This meant he was one of the cultivators with a rare capture space in his spiritual roots!
"Heh… you're not the only one who has secrets, you old goat."
A moment later, the boy that was in front of the old man turned to ice, and a mist spread in the air before it reformed by the old man.
"Not a chance!"
The old man's hand seemed to turn into a huge flaming fist and he smashed into the wall of ice. The two began fighting as down below Zang Wei was enjoying his peace. He was walking without any water to drink but was happy to be alive.
Luckily, the battle was very high above him, and one of the men would have to aim their spells down to kill him. So, he peacefully continued his walk towards the sun as the two men kept fighting.
The sun made him really tired and he felt parched after only a few minutes of walking. Above him, the battle had already been going on for those few minutes. The old man was gaining ground on his young counterpart.
The fire and ice kept clashing before Zang Wei realized he had no idea where he was going.
Then the youngling cultivator felt a kick to his face,
"Hah… see you in hell, little bug boy!"
The old man's kick caught the youngling off guard. The old man had been hiding his strength under the diminishing cultivation talisman after all, and he was for the most part screwed. He regretted nothing, not even killing the old man's first daughter, nor that he'd slept with a few of his wives.
They were once teacher and student, and he was named the younger Zeng Bai. His teacher was known for his great strength, and got the royal alchemist to buy his daughter a pill!
However, his student loved his daughter, and as his daughter happened to marry someone else. For his revenge, he took her betrothal gift, screwed three of the man's twenty wives, and even left a child inside of her!
Then, the bad student, who only wanted love, was murdered right now by his teacher, and he happened to land in the sand by Zang Wei causing it to rise and fall.
At this time, Zang Wei was extremely shocked and looked up noticed it was snowing. Out of all places, why would it snow in a desert? A second later, though, the teacher's former student bounced and skewered the sandhill in front of Zang Wei. He could only look up and gulp.
"This can't be happening… I can't die twice in the same day!"
Zang Wei's death was assured as twenty tons of sand were about to fall on him. The body of Zeng Bai's student spun in the sands, and just barely missed Zang Wei.
"No! Please… earth, don't collapse on me!" Zang Wei would not relent to his new fate willingly. However, a moment later, he fell into the sands.
"Oh, no you don't!" The extremely old man's wrinkled hands snaked around Zang Wei and plucked him from the ground. "I can't believe someone else was here… What god did you piss off, young one?"
Zang Wei ended up in the air upside down. He was currently spinning from his toe.
"Also, please tell me why you're naked! Your skin is going to burn, young man!"
Zang Wei realized he was in the air. He didn't want to be dropped again. "I just declined a marriage proposal, and a goddess stranded me naked in this desert…"
The old man Zeng Bai nodded his head as he had a similar fate when he was younger. "Ah, well, the least I can do is drop you off at the oasis. However, your elder has to make sure the dead stay dead. I'll be accompanying you once I clean my hands of my daughter's murderer."
Zang Wei was confused, but a second later was standing in an oasis. The burdening sun was now shackled by the tree leaves, and Zang Wei cherished his safety.
Everywhere he went, something tried to kill him, and he became wary of the water. Slowly, he walked up to it and sipped from the river. He had no idea a pair of eyes laid on his torso pondering if she should approach.
"Uhm, can you put on some clothes?" A female voice sounded in the desert.
Zang Wei turned over and saw her. A girl who looked younger than him was blushing.
