Chapter 3 - Afterglow

Someone is calling out to me. A voice I've never heard before. I open my eyes and gaze upon a surreal spectacle. Before me is a beautiful woman. Her skin is smooth and milky white. Her eyes are closed but there are tears streaming down her beautiful face. Her lips were full and had seemed to have the perfect hue. It left me flabbergasted. My jaw hits the ground, my mind goes blank. Who is this person? Why is she here?

I lowered my gaze. It felt like I didn't deserve to view such beauty. I wasn't presentable. I was still covered in that vile viscous ooze from the demon. I must have smelled too. That's why she's crying, probably. 'You disgusting shit. This is why we can't have good things.' How could I be so careless as to not clean up after making a mess? "...." I try to apologize but the words won't come out. 'Are you a man?' I bow my head in shame and backpedal out of the room, careful to not look at her on the way out. I shut the door, quickly disrobe, and jump into my bath barrel. 'Stupid shit, heat the water before you enter the bath. In fact, wash before you bathe.' Freezing cold. Why do women cause me to be stupid and clumsy? 'You'll be alone forever at this rate.' "Holy shit. Shut the fuck up!" No one responds back. I hope she didn't hear me...

Hastily, I hurry back. Cologne? Check. Combed hair? Check. Clean and presentable clothes? Half check. Whatever. She probably left by now. 'Worthless...' "ugh...." There it goes again. I ignore the remark and head back into my workspace. I open the door but once again keep my head down as if to avoid her gaze. I scuttle back and prostrate before her. Slowly I lift my head. My beauty was gone and in its place was my first kill but still whole. 'Yes, yes I should make her even more beautiful. This warehouse is full of odds and ends to meet pretty much all needs...'

I wake up. Seemingly, I fell asleep shortly after using the awl. 'Well, guess the message needs to change slightly...' Plaster, cement, wax, lacquer, and wires. First things first; plaster and cement are generously applied to the severed leg areas and smoothed out reminiscent to Roman statues. Wires are applied on to the arms, shoulders, back, and head to mold the pose. Plaster is once again applied over the wires to mask their presence. Wax and Laquer are the final touches to preserve the flesh(?) of the demon once the plaster and cement dry. "Lost Girl" is now finished. I'll just have to place her back on the bench where this all began. Then the hunt once again will resume.
