Much to Shen Yi's surprise, the twins' behavior returned to normal the next day which was the first day of his wife's absence. He knew that they were trying their best not to cry, especially Little Yuyan who hadn't uttered a single word since she woke up that morning.
The night before was disastrous for Shen Yi as he came home after dropping Lu Xinyi at the airport and found the twins wailing nonstop at home. Neither he nor Shen Xue was able to make them stop, and it took him three long hours before they fell asleep from crying.
"Daddy?" Shen Zichen appeared in his study in the middle of his work.
"What is it, Zichen?" Shen Yi asked calmly, glancing over his files and at the boy standing in the doorway.
"You aren't leaving for work, Daddy?"
By this time, Shen Zichen knew that his father should have left for work; and yet he was still in his home clothes, burying his head on his work alone in his study.
