Chapter 81 - The Primal Demon

The barn house in question was the same one where Xu Rouguang came from when he broke out of the Abyss. It still reeked from the blood of the dead that seeped deep into the wooden flooring. Lai Mingjie walked in through the entrance while Xu Rouguang rounded the vicinity. Like planned, he wouldn't enter unless necessary.

Lai Mingjie's watch had a faint glow in contrast to the pitch-black darkness of the wide space. It ticked two in the morning, and Lai Mingjie's eyes roamed as if he could fathom a few figures in the darkness.

"You didn't come alone. General Xu is still outside." A voice appeared next to his ears as a faint smell of mums scattered in the air around him.

"Heh, why don't you try to be in my shoes, Lanyan?" Lai Mingjie chuckled as he felt a little happy hearing such a familiar voice from ages ago. What wouldn't he give to go back to such a time that those voices were in his constant company?
