The fire devouring the wood roared in pain as another piece of the branch was dropped into it. It even had the audacity to spat its tongue out towards the direction of the person responsible. Mingyan was closely watching the flames as he didn't want to get used to the dark. It was another cold night, and the temperature was only Mingyan's way of telling the time.
Time felt like an abstract concept now that he was in complete darkness. Most of his things were destroyed by Sovereign Cinders, but he did everything he could not to cry. Besides, they would all be replaced by his Mommy after all.
"Mommy..." Mingyan soon failed and sobbed a little before burying his face on his arms.
