It was already morning, and Lai Mingjie was yawning as he walked into the open lobby of his cottage. Mingyan had gone away with Wen Qingyuan earlier to go see Xu Rouguang. The child had been asking for his Mommy ever since he opened his eyes that morning.
If it was Lai Mingjie, he would legitimately do the same.
"Daddy!" Mingyan ran to his soon-to-be legal father, and Lai Mingjie carried the child in his arms. The child then pouted as he hugged Lai Mingjie. "Daddy, Daddy, they said I still can't see Mommy."
"Yep, you can't. It's because we're seeing him in just a bit more." He just laughed out. It looked like he wasn't the only person who wasn't used to not having Xu Rouguang around them. Mingyan was so enthusiastic when it came to his Mommy, and he might end up ruining the surprise so they wanted him to be away from his Mommy for now.
It's not like the child hated it and would throw a tantrum about it; he knew very well that today was very special to his Mommy.
