The familiar alarm sounded in the air, but the person who dismissed it was already up and dressed. He had gotten home too late, but he was going away too early. The wife on the bed was still sleeping, holding onto the black bull bolster she took from her son's room. She was so worried about her son, and the fact that she was pregnant didn't help at all.
"Jie... please be good... and get better..."
Her soft mumbling didn't escape her husband's earshot. He kneeled next to the bed and combed the stray fringe off of her face. He then leaned down to kiss her cheek. "I'm going to make sure he will."
"Long-long, you be good, too," Yu Shenqi murmured. She was half-awake, half-asleep at the moment. She wasn't fully aware that it was already morning, but she knew Lai Julong was leaving her side. Her hand extended and petted her husband since he was still kneeling nearby.
