Chapter 262 - Blackie’s Plight

"We are getting near the vortex move to the south in the next intersection."

Milo's voice sounded loud as the little team was moving to the east.

At his side was Hayley who was followed closely by a teenage girl holding an MRGR. Flanking her other side was Giorgio, and two shielders lead by Mark took the frontline.

With Spencer's absence, Milo had to take the role of a leader in this high-profile mission. The mission was simple, they needed to scout the current situation of the farmlands, but the problem was the danger of the Space Vortex that the previous Alpha left behind.

Because of the truce with the farmland beasts, Green shelter limited themselves to watch the vortex's behavior. They didn't have a clue about what was going beyond this point until they got a visit from Pinky.

Pinky wasn't sure about the situation either, according to his version a beast came with a message saying that they run into troubles. He just wanted to let Green Shelter now that he was going to the east to figure out what was going on and help.

Green Shelter and Blackie just had a non-aggression pact, so if they run into some trouble, they had no obligation to help him, but Pinky was a different story. He stood and fought by their side at their lowest moment.

Even if the humans didn't want to help, they needed to be sure what was going on. After all, if they run into troubles bad enough to make them ask for help. There was a chance that Green Shelter could be in danger too, in that case, an alliance would be a good chance to prevent them from falling one by one.

The very next day, eight silhouettes left through the east gate.

The vortex in front of them was the limit of the known area for them, as they moved to the south Hayley recognized her old neighborhood.

As they moved to the southeast, they finally got the city limits where a prairie extended forward, and broken barns could be seen at a distance.

A little mouse appeared and underground burrow flanked by two bunnies.

'Lord Pinky and Lord Blackie are already aware of your arrival ice master.'

Hayley knew how pinky's subject work.

Pinky himself had two abilities, telepathy, and he was the brain of the swarm. That meant that most of the rats that got under his influence became part of the swarm, but it also had another meaning. Some of them also got a power. Apparently, this little mouse was able to use telepathy, and the bunnies were here to escort him and prevent him from being in danger.

"We are here to evaluate the situation and see if there is a need for us to intervene nothing more. Please guide us to them."

Since all their mind were connected, there wasn't a need to wait for the answer, the mouse nodded and started to move to the north where a green forest could be seen before some white mountains.

They started to see more and more farm animals, together with some small groups of rats in the way. The same beasts that they fought before and killed dozens of people. Of course, the same could be said about them killing hundreds of beasts.

The huge black sheep was easy to spot once the group advanced for a while. A semi-human goat and a large bull flanked at each side of blackie with their eyes focused in them ready to attack at the slightest sign of threat.

Ignoring them as if it was expected mark advanced in front to the white rat in front of the group.

'Good afternoon, noble warriors, it's been a while since we last met.'

For some reason, Pinky seemed to be in a different mood than usual, which meant that the situation was bad.

Hayley was the most familiar with him and noticed his change. She was a little worried about him talking about the harem again, but it's clear that something terrible going on, so it was no time to worry about other stuff.

"What's going on Pinky?"

Pinky looked back at Blackie.

They locked eyes for a while as if they had a conversation, and after half a minute, the black sheep nodded, and a deep and lazy voice sounded on their heads.

'I'll start with the begging.'

'After the event of the falling skies, we changed, we are strong and don't need humans to control us… we revolt, and the few humans left in the farmlands were killed.'

'We took over this place and didn't need anything else to be happy… we have enough pastures and lived in peace for a week. Some beast became more violent and were kicked from the community, they left in different directions.'

'The western ones entered into a conflict with the survivors at the human city, they never knew what happened to the others, but to the south, the grass is not tasty and becomes a desert with the time.'

'It was not a real problem the community was at peace again until the bees in the community wanted to take control.'

'The Queen Bee wasn't too strong at the time, and the previous Leader managed to kick them out, they chose the east when they departed. But just a week after that happened she came back and managed to give us some troubles.'

'After rejecting the Bees for the second time The Alpha had to make a plan, on one side, he didn't want to leave this place, but the pressure from the bees in the future was strong, and he needed to have a backup plan for the next attack.'

'Our scouts discovered that the beasts that were kicked and went to the east joined the Queen Bee, the east and the south were no options, and the scout we sent to the north never came back. We had to move to the city.'

'The city ended being a horrible plan. Our leader died, and we became weaker than before… we manage to survive that disaster, but the looming Danger from the Queen Bee was stronger than ever.'

'We expected our demise since then, we sent scouts to the west of the city but found out that beyond there are no pastures for us. The north was a mystery, and the south meant hungry and death.'

'But the third attack didn't happen… we thought that the Queen Bee left to the east and left us alone once for all, but a week ago we found out that they were getting ready for a battle impossible for us to win.'

'The Queen had many children, they are better than before, stronger, harder, bigger… deadlier. A small unit attacked us three days ago, and our losses were big compared to their… we didn't have another option but ask for help from the strongest we knew.'

Pinky stood with pride at Blackie's words.

'Don't worry we will repel them, farmland lord.'

The group of humans was deep in thoughts.

None of them would have thought that some kind of territorial war was the reason behind the farmlands attack. But now that they knew they could help but feel fear when they thought of a looming danger that even the previous Alpha cow had no confidence in defeating.

This reunion put thoughts in everyone's minds.

No one said it, but they all knew that their best chance was to ally with the farmland lord and pinky to take down the Queen Bee.

But there was another critical piece of information in the story. This was what worried Hayley the most because when they leave Green Shelter, they were going to take the route to the north.
